how nice of her

Being allowed to marry someone merely because you love them? What a travesty! The thing is I can see her making the same arguments 50 years ago during the civil rights era.

P.S. what makes these people assume they know what god does and doesn't like? If I were god, I think I'd be pretty pissed at folk who claimed to know my mind. Actually, I'd quite like to be god some days...

Oh, I love it! I love when people say "That's not me saying it: It's God!" That just makes my day.

To the bolded - I was thinking the same thing. I'd like someone to ask her if she believes that interracial couples should be allowed to marry, since 50 years ago people were using bible versus to justify keeping those marriages illegal.

She might be against it, seeing as she never answered my question (it went something like interracial marriage is illegal in the 1950s... same issue as gay marriage)

Oh and her leghumpers are at it too.

I just want you to know that lots of people disagree with you about gay marriage. Lots of Christians disagree with you. Eh, yeah, I know! A lot of ppl disagreed with Jesus when He was walking this earth. I guess we'll all find out the truth when we get Home!;)

... well, hate to bring up a Poe, but the Nazis, KKK and various other hate groups ARE on the wrong side of history!

Ah, Raquel, Corinthians & Timothy weren't written by God; they were written by Paul. And Paul really didn't think that anyone should get married.

Isn't that the truth.

Did Jesus ever say anything, or anything that's recorded, about homosexuality?

Allow me to join those who don't give a rat's ass about what the Bible said about homosexuality, one way or another.

I'm pretty sure he never said a damn thing about it.

So now it isn't just the gays going to hell, anyone who supports gay marriage is going. Hell is getting crowded.

"If "Christians" support gay "marriage"..then they are NOT a Christian

Thank youuu "

Well I'm pretty sure he didn't either but I confess to not knowing the Bible as well as others. If he said nothing about it then I honestly think it's not an issue with him.

She would fit in right there. Does she even know who they are though? Someone ask whether she agrees with their protests. If she does, she is officially the worst person ever, as the KKK and Zsu both dont like their actions.

Yes, I was living in sin. But so do many other Christians. I know Christian men who struggle with porn, or know of women who are married but are having affairs. That doesn’t automatically make them a non-believer. Christians aren’t perfect. We sin. But it’s when a person is willfully indulging in a sin (with no intention of getting out of it), that the validity of their Christian profession can - and should be! - considered.

So, her sin was different because what, she was doing it against her will and planned to stop someday? What a load of crap,

In her blog comments she says that the Bible is the only science book she needs when it comes to homosexuality.

Yeah well, guess what? America isn't found on Christianity, so you can't use the Bible to make laws that affect non-Christians.

The reason I ask is because back in the 50's, interracial marriage was illegal. Most people were protesting it on biblical grounds. I can't help but draw a parallel to what you're saying about gay marriage.

No, there's nothing parallel there.

I hate to break it to you, Raquel, but the wrong side of history who are openly hateful of other people and use the Bible to justify their hatred includes the KKK, and Nazis supremacists. It's not to late to change. You said yourself you are open-minded. Speak to a gay person. Listen. Understand.

I don't need to change. And I actually have talked to gay people:)

Talk about missing the point completely.

(thread jack, but I would love to have a smilie with a stick figure on an airplane moving away from a point)

Anyone have an idea of who her secret admirer is? Who was that guy that posted on her blog and was her bestie and everyone thought he liked her?

I doubt she is entirely against interracial marriage since she is mixed herself, but one never knows. However, she still doesn't get why the fights are similar. I wonder how much science she actually knows since she seems to claim the Bible is all the evidence she needs for things. Er...yeah.

The guy who posted on her blog and hung out with her was Daniel ask The Anonymous Antagonist. He stopped blogging last year. I suspect he was her admirer, but for some reason I think he wasn't that into her.

Raquel is an idiot and I can see why quoted Kirk Cameron. The dumb thing about Kirk and Raquel is that neither one will know or accept the real facts regarding the history of marriage.

Raquel said...

MsJess - I never said anything about 'hating' gay people. In fact, I said (at the end of this post) that I will love them, I will still talk to them, but I will hate the sing they're living in. The Bible actually has TWO reasons that a couple MAY get a divorce - though, if by all means possible - they should work at keeping their marriage. And not eating pork was a Jewish tradition. It doesn't apply to us, who are under the New Covenant. I'd advise you not to bash on Christians if you don't know the Bible. And even then, we can still defend (or should be able to!) what we believe. And yes, haha I was homeschooled. But believe me, the Bible is the only science book I need, when it comes to homosexuals. and I know for a fact, that it's not natural..

Interesting, Raquel doesn't mention the books or go into detail about show she knows homosexuality isn't natural. I've said it before, but Raquel should be glad she was homeschooled. There is no way she would have made it in a public school or even a private Christian school settings.

I'm not sure what God thinks about gay people, but I am very sure that the Bible has Jesus saying "love your neighbour as you love yourself". So be good to all people, regardless of orientation/gender/etc, because it is up to God to judge them and not you.

What the flying fuck? They're not a subject you study in school, they're human beings.

And by the way, formergothardite posted in the other Raquel thread that "Miss" Raquel has plagiarized her recent blog post from Pinterest without citing her sources. And she just answered my question on her AMA and confirmed it:
