A hilarious parodic film review by the Onion making the case that "The Wizard of Oz" is a cautionary tale about the dangers of women being separated from male authority figures. Sadly, I'm pretty sure we could send this to our favorite fundie bloggers and they would totally take it at face value:

Intersting, considering how Baum was a feminist. He did pock some fun at the feminist movement in the second Oz book, but the paper he ran was very feminist.

I once read a Pagan article which compared the jounery to the Goddess to the Wizard of Oz. While searching for a patricartical God to solve your problems, only to find out that the power was with you the whole time. I am no longer Pagan, but the analogy always stuck with me.
