OKay I don't know if anyone knows this but I wrote the Duggars to see what I would get back. The question would have took 2 seconds to answer. I didn't make it hard.

Anyway before that I have written FAMOUS people before Remember Beverly Mitchell. I wrote her when 7th Heaven was in its prime. She wrote me an autograph and personal letter. I mean she took time top write me twice! I have several other examples- like Dakota Fanning- yep personal letter. Okay you may say not that famous but at least they didn't send me a flippin letter like this....

Hello from the Duggar Family,

We are so grateful for all of the prayers and emails of support for our

family since Josie Brooklyn Duggar was born 12-10-09 weighing 1 pound 6

ounces. She is beautiful, she now weighs over 16 pounds and is a miracle.

We love hearing how God is working in lives. We are sorry due to the

volume of emails we are receiving we are unable to have a personal response

to each email. We do try to read each message and pray for the needs

mentioned. We would like to share some resources that have helped our family

and we pray they will be a blessing to you. We do not make any money off

these resources, we are just trying to highlight some dynamic Bible teaching

that has drawn our family close to God and to each other.

We encourage you to sign up for the Free Daily Success Emails. They are

excellent. You can sign up at

http://iblp.org/iblp/discipleship/dailysuccess/ . They are packed full of

truths that will inspire and challenge you.

Also, Dr. S.M. Davis¹ DVD messages have helped us raising our children.

He has many topics on family relationships that are very helpful at

http://www.solvefamilyproblems.com/.

More excellent resources for raising Godly young people can be found at

http://visionforum.com . For young ladies we highly recommend the book

³Before you meet Prince Charming².

Many have emailed us about SOS ministries in El Salvador. You can

contact them to get involved at http://www.sosminternational.com/ .

Also, the Jim Sammon's Financial Freedom Seminar has helped Michelle and

I to become one minded in the direction we are headed. It has encouraged me

to be the spiritual leader that I need to be. It has made us and saved us

thousands of dollars by learning practical Bible principles that apply to

every day life decisions. Jim Sammons is a real estate developer, the

principles he shares apply to everyone of us. He shares story after story in

a funny way that my whole family enjoys watching it. It costs about $109 for

the textbook and 10 disk video series which is available at

http://store.iblp.org/products/FFSP/, it is one of the best investments you

can make into your family and business. We enjoy watching one hour a week,

for example, like on a Saturday evening as a family or with friends and then

discuss it. The Bible principles will challenge you to give every area of

your life to God in a new and deeper way and your family will grow closer

together as each one individually seeks God. This seminar has helped us get

out of debt and has given us creative business ideas to support our large

family. This will pay for it's self with your first financial decision. You

can't afford not to watch it!

If you have not discovered you can be forgiven for everything you have

done wrong, we want to share with you Jesus loves you no matter what

mistakes you have made! Watch the "Are You a Good Person?" video on our home

page which simply explains salvation. Christianity is not about being

perfect, but about receiving forgiveness. The Bible says, "If we confess our

sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all

unrighteousness, (make a mental list and ask Jesus to forgive you for all

the things that you have done wrong and ask His forgiveness even for the

things that you can't remember; He remembers). Tell Him you make a choice to

forgive those that have hurt you in your life. Then ask Him to come in and

take over the control of your life and make you a new person. He promised He

will. There is nothing you have done that you cannot be forgiven for, except

not asking for forgiveness (even if you have been mean to others,

self-centered, stolen things, committed moral sins, or murdered someone, he

still loves you and will forgive you if you ask). It's FREE! People don't go

to heaven because they are good, because everyone has done things wrong. We

go to heaven because we have been forgiven! Jesus paid the penalty for our

sin. That is what people call being saved. We are saved from Hell. You still

will be ashamed of the mistakes you have made, but the guilt will be gone

because you are forgiven.

Jesus wants to become you best friend, He loves you! He wants you to ask

Him and get His advice about every major decision in your life. You will see

your whole life changing. He wants you to go back to people you have done

things wrong to and ask for forgiveness for what you have done, telling them

you have committed your life to Jesus and you now want to live for Him. You

will still make mistakes in the future, but daily you pray to God and He

will lead you. Here is an excellent website http://www.wayofthemaster.com/ ,

that will explain deeper about a relationship with Christ.

We look forward to hearing how these resources have impacted your life.

God bless you and your family as you follow Him!

Why do you have so many children?

Why do all your children have names that begin with J?

Since their first documentary broke viewership records on the Discovery

Health Channel, the Duggars have appeared in American and international news

ok I wrote to an author about a book that just came out, there was some portuguese in there and it was wrong, so I just sent an email saying how I loved the book and all and at the ned I mentionned I was a little disapointed to see the errors in portuguese, and all. A YEAR later I got a message from the assistant kind of copy paste saying that she gets too many emails and all.

I swear to you a year later. IT took me some time to place the email when I received it.

So yeah it does not surprise me that they would do that. It surely is an automated response. And if people do write just to pray they may get some mail :P

They probably get a lot of mail. And by a lot, I mean A LOT. Matt Roloff said that they were receiving about 10,000 emails a day (or was it a week?) at one point, so I'd imagine it'd probably be the same for the Duggars.

Honestly, I am far more surprised that you got personal mail from Beverly Mitchell (C List Celeb) and Dakota Fanning (B/A List celeb depending when it was) than I am surprised that you got a form email from D-list reality television stars. People on television, whoever they are, get insane volume of email/mail.

Trust me I was surprised too. I mean some actors really do care about their fans others I can say are fakes or copies and not so much caring. Or they are just too big a star. I just can't believe how long the e-mail was

The Duggars definitely have a fanbase who probably contacts them through snail mail, email or methods frequently. I'm not surprised they are sending automated messages.

I do think they tend to exaggerate their fame. Cousin Amy recently said on her fanpage that the Duggars' haters contribute to the show's "high ratings." Amy was a moron to say that. The Duggars have less than 2 million viewers, the ratings this season at best have been 1.6 milion. Also you could find more people who know who Snooki is but if you asked them about Jim Bob and Michelle they wouldn't know who you were talking about. There are some people who just know them as those people with a bunch of kids.

Agreed. Amy and the adult, married Duggars have a very inflated opinion of their fame. Frankly, I think Smuggar is the worst of all.

Isn't that the sin of Pride in action?

I kind of think Michelle is the worst becauseshe really takes pleasure in getting "mother of the year" awards that she really doesn't deserve. The Duggars have a lot of pride and they don't see it and probably never will.

I think part of the reason the Duggars and Amy have an inflated opinion of their fame is because they don't realize that their show in many ways isn't a ratings juggernaut. It does ok in a way for cable standard ratings but if it had been on broadcast networks it would have been canned after the first season. The Duggars do like getting the attention get from fans and to them is probably a big deal. The Duggars basically have a sort of small niche fanbase. In last night's episode during the book signing part, I think the bookstore manager was exaggerating that it was the first time a lot of people showed up the store. I'm willing to bet more famous authors set foot in that store and drew larger crowds than the Duggars. I think sometimes people BS the Duggars into believing they are extremely well known and the Duggars buy into it.

I laugh at the Duggar fans who believe that the family is extremely wealthy and are huge bestselling authors. The Duggars are probably the least lucrative families or casts in the reality TV world and also their books do get decent sales but they aren't huge sellers and I predict both of the Duggar books will be out of print later on. I think fans might inflate the Duggars' opinions on their fame. Michelle clearly enjoys getting attention at book signings, but a lot of their books signings are in areas in which people are mostly Protestant. If you put the Duggars in certain areas in the US they wouldn't be getting big crowds for book signings.

I was going to contact them last week but I figured that'd be the response I'd get. I was going to ask them where they got the rotary grater that Jinger uses to grate the bar of soap for the homemade laundry detergent. I have tendonitis in my wrist so grating an entire bar of soap can take a LOOONG time... I'm considering sending in a picture of my family like they request so someday when I'm watching an episode on YouTube I can go "Hey, it's Jude!!!" :)

I'm willing to bet it must have been the store's very first book signing event. lol I didn't watch the episode, but I've been to many a book signing, and I've waited for hours upon hours at some. Shoot, my favorite author (Diana Gabaldon) isn't mainstream in the least and people, including my mom and me, travel from all over the place to get to her nearest one. They're insane events.

I emailed about Josie's possible signs of retinoblastoma and got a similar response. I do hope someone read the email since, though.

Pretty much what I have thought of them from the day I heard of them. They are selling themselves, their baby making abilities and their countless children for the all mighty buck. Yet, people still think they're humble, great, all about god, the ultimate 'savers' with money, blah, blah, blah. They are a product. A brand. Just like the brand placement in their 30 minutes of showcasing themselves every week.

I know I'm supposed to be 'better' than this - but I can't wait to watch what happens when the media machine reaches the end of the line and they are done. They irritate me an I'm honestly kind of appalled that anyone takes anything they say or do seriously.

Remember, they've been show on tv just about everywhere--not just the USA. I think they probably ARE overwhelmed by emails.

Regardless of the number of emails they get, their auto-generated response does not have to be a sales pitch sandwiched between false humility, self promotion and their own brand of evangelism.

Say "Thanks for emailing. We get thousands of emails a day and we can't get to them all. We appreciate that you took the time to contact us."

I would so love to see their television show boycotted. They refuse to allow their own spawn to watch the horrible tv, yet the call up the morning show every time sperm meets egg to go on tv and announce a new spawn. The tv is OK for others to watch them, and it's ok for them to rake in the cash from putting themselves on the boob-tube, but they are above actually watching it.

I emailed a while back and got the identical response. Its not even an autosend, but someone had to actually cut and paste that in and hit "send." The whole thing is disgusting, to be honest. They hold themselves out as this open and loving example of a christian family, but cant even take a moment to send a personal message to a fan (or someone asking for help). There are plenty of them of "typing" age. JB could screen them and allow one of the kids to answer them. Hell, TLC could screen them and have them answered.

What is someone wrote to them asking for references to convert and they missed it? Is that a sin or some sort that you are too prideful to help someone find god?

I really dislike them and everything they do. I would be that Gil Bates would answer an email... hmm....

Damn, with 19 kids you'd think someone could answer a simple e-mail.

Face it, this is a family of narcissists.

Honestly, I am glad that they HAVEN'T enlisted the kids to answer emails. They didn't ask for this, and it's not their job. They've got enough to do anyway, what with raising Michelle and Jim Bob's never ending supply of children.

I don't have a hard time believing they get more emails than they can answer. I live in the Bible Belt, and the nuts aren't as few and far between as you'd probably like to believe.

      Stupid loneliness!
Kid 1 went back to college (yeah! But sad foe me, she stayed with me all summer. It was nice to start a new phase in our mother/daughter relationship)
Zero prospects on dates. (Not that I have tried online dating, scared of that but I have reached put to a new group at church, etc.
I asked a friend to go to dinner the other night so I wasn't eating alone, again. The friend had plans, all my friends always have plans. I see stuff on social media, I'm never invited. I'm single, I'm the 3rd or 5th wheel.
My one parent friend at kid 2's fall sport won't be there because their daughter made varsity (Yeah for her!!! Seriously happy for her. Sad for me for another sport I basically sit alone, did that majority of spring and summer sporting events.)
And now I'm crying as my mom told me 2 different funny stores that former teachers remembered about my twin. Both stories were about how they got a crack out of my twin's antics (my parents went to a funeral today and saw former colleagues). Teachers remember me (after all I was a twin and teachers' kid) but none would have memorable stories of me.
      I feel invisible.
Don't worry, this will pass,  it always does. I just need a pity party for a few days. I'm not in anyway going to harm myself. As lonely as I am, I have a very full life I (usually) love. I just needed to vent and cry for a moment.
If you are still reading this, thanks Fjer. 😊

Absolutely awful about the fires on Maui. In 2019, I stayed in Lahaina. I liked to sit on the sea wall, which is the only structure left now, and watch the water. People are receiving help, but many had to leave pets. Please donate to the Maui Humane Society, which is leading efforts to find, treat, and reunite pets.
