Theres another whole thread about this. Amanda is 19 and I've tried extensively but unsuccessfully to find any info on Joe. They don't even seem to have a wedding registry. I hope they live stream the wedding though. It's just a few weeks away.

I think there was only the one mention in their blog. We did discuss it then. Not much more so say until they blog again. I doubt it will be streamed. They seem like fairly private people. I guess after the Liz "fiasco", they are keeping this one low key.

Seems his name is Joe Burke. I actually found his name after searching but it took awhile. Their church posted that they will be having a shower for them on April 26th, or I guess at this point they already had it. Anyway, I tried more searching of his name but I can't find anything else. No Burke familiy website of any kind that I can find.

Anyway, I've lurked forever. First time for me to post. Hi everyone! :greetings-waveyellow:

Is Burke is a very common name in the U.S.? Because there is a very traditionalist Catholic cardinal called Burke also.

Hi, and thanks for the welcome, Rita!

The Burke name is not real common where I live. I do know of a local family by that name but they spell it different.

Welcome quiverless, and congratulations on the super sleuthing. I have put much more time into trying to figure out that young man's last name than I should have, especially during finals week! Haha.

As for the name Burke, it's not super common, but a google search of Joseph Burke leaves you with nothing interesting.

Burke is fairly common in parts of Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina.

Not to mention, NYC and Boston.

It looks like Joe was the Munck's store intern. That would give her time to get to know him, so it probably isn't a typical Fundie courtship. Here he is at a Munck birthday.

I don't know how to imbed photos, but here it is.

Whoa there is ALL sorts of fun at that birthday party. No wonder Steve couldn't handle it.

No sign of animal cookie rationing or forced smiles in these photos. Liz dodged a bullet for sure. Can you imagine going from all this fun to the house of death, where all you have to look forward to is polishing the kitchen cabinets.

Amanda and Joe! I never got that before! Thanks, jlbturtle, I needed that.

Personally, I always thought Joe was a little creepy, but even so, he deserved better than Mandie.

My sweet pup was diagnosed with a brain tumor in September. She passed away in my arms on Thanksgiving morning. It all happened so fast. She didn't want to eat anything the day before, but prior to that was ok. Knew it was near time and had booked an appointment to take her next week. However, she decided for me. She was only 8 and really was one of the best dogs. She never met a stranger, human or dog. Life isn't the same without her.

I made my first Granny Square! After nearly 30 years of knitting and crocheting this was a project I never did. Until now! I needed something to do with my rest of very colourful yarn and now I am very happy. I need to try different needles with my yarns but I think I found something nice for the future.
I needed only 3 different youtube videos until I found a person who explained the concept slowly and repetitive and with words I can understand. I hate when these tutorials make me feel dumb.

Someone please remind me to buy peanut butter. Seriously, I have been meaning to get some for at least three weeks, and everytime I remember, the shops are already closed!

You know what I hate most about subtle racism? The gaslighting. Stop cosplaying as a nice person and say it with your chest.

We had to put our 14 year old dachshund, Trinket, down today.  She was fine Thursday, but by mid-morning yesterday, it was apparent that something was really wrong,  She had zero energy, lost her appetite and began walking into corners.  By morning I knew it was time for her to have her final visit to the vet.  She had lost about a pound and a half recently.  RIP, Trinket!

Horrific! A 6 year old boy was murdered, and mother severly injured, in a hate crime in Chicago. Reports say they are both Palestinian Muslims and were specifically targeted because of that. Thankfully the man who did it is in custody
      This is pure evil
