“Satan wants to eliminate color by interracial marriages

I live in a country that is 98% white. I don't see white people being eliminated any time soon. But it's not as if the white people here are some kind of "pure" ethnicity that mixed-race people aren't; I have both Scottish and English ancestry, but go back further and there's Gaelic, Norse, Angle, Saxon, etc. And that's just the obvious ones. I've probably got other European ancestors, not to mention other continents (for instance plenty of very white-looking Brits have Indian ancestry thanks to British Imperialism).

Then again, maybe my white fiancé and I are doing Satan's work by refusing to have pasty white babies XD

I have 1 white child and 1 inter-racial. Do they cancel each other out, then?

That Club House you call a Church would crumble. You’re as disgusting

as a TURD CHUNKING MONKEY in a zoo.

Takes one to know one!

(Actually I think it's pretty insulting to the monkey to be compared to this guy.)

Did these guys miss the part of the Bible (Exodus, chap. 2) where Moses marries Zipporah, daughter of the Midianite priest?

How about the Song of Songs (aka Song of Solomon)? It reads:

"I am dark, but comely (1:5)...

Don't stare at me because I am swarthy (1:6)...

My beloved is clear-skinned and ruddy..(5:10)

The entire text is an inter-racial erotic love story.

I'm guessing they don't know enough to know the diff between Moses and Midianites, colorwise. As for the Song of Solomon, well, that's in that ebil Catholic bible, and we all know where THEY are going to spend eternity.... :D :D

I wonder what he would say about my Cambodian daughter. She is always mistaken for a black/white mixed race child, but she is full-blooded Khmer as far as we know. So he would condemn her on the basis of her looks without a clue of the actual fact of the matter.

I guess I am going to have a hard time marrying her off under his rules. We know no other Cambodians in this area, and she is inclined to have crushes on both white and black boys. Oh dear. How to save her from damnation?

I'm confused. Song of Solomon is in the King James Bible. I thought that was the accepted fundie Bible.

Well, yes. Isn't that the point of racism? :)

The large IFB I belonged to in the late 80's with EXH1 turned an interracial couple away while I was there. A nicely dressed couple visiting from out of town came in one morning before the worship service & sat down near the front. They were immediately approached by 2 deacons, escorted out the back door, & given directions to a predominantly black baptist church a few miles away.

And no one (except me, but I was too scared to speak up) saw anything wrong with that. The pastor told the whole story in his sermon that morning, and was loudly "amen-ed" for making them leave. His reasoning was that an interracial couple would have mixed -race children, & what if those kids grew up & wanted to date the white kids?

I really doubt anything has changed there.

Fuck that church!

That reminds me of how Bob Jones University used to make biracial students choose which race they wanted to be for dating purposes. I knew of a male student who had a white American dad and a Vietnamese mother. He chose to be white while he attended BJ as there were a lot more white girls to choose from and he married a white woman he'd met there. Her parents were very opposed to the marriage as her husband was not white! I'm pretty sure that, while BJU may have admitted a few students who were of mixed Asian and white heritage, they didn't admit those kids who were black/white biracial.

In our new neighborhood, we get a lot of door-to-door Jesus traffic hoping for fat checks in the collection plate. I'm pasty as hell, so I find it vastly amusing to point out the picture of my black great-grandmother and watch their faces alternate between greed and horror. Oh no, she's secretly one of them... dear Jesus, is it okay to get her money anyway?

Lawfulevil, your story tangentially reminds me of a customer who rang me up at my last job! I was in the call centre of a parcel delivery firm, and a Scottish bloke rang in. I couldn't give him the answer he wanted and he called me an English bitch. I calmly replied, "Well I think you're only against me because I'm Pakistani." (I was lying.) He sounded genuinely admonished! But it goes to show how daft people are when they don't know anything about you.

I've lived in very diverse areas where people were racist as ever. If anything, the racists tried to single-handedly make up for the diversity by being extra super duper racist.

Well, that is disappointing... of course, as I posted in another thread, I thnk the world is just filled with crazy and sometimes we just have to keep our head down and live our lives without catching the eye of the armed nutjob.

That's a logic fail, even by the non-logic of racism standards.

"Pure" races, of course, are a myth. If they ever read their Bibles, they'd get a clue that empires in the ancient world would periodically rise up, conquer territory and fall. The Persian empire, for example, is described in the Book of Esther as stretching from India to Ethiopia. Some empires, like the Assyrians, even did wholesale population transfers as a means of controlling conquered nations. Travel and trade were not uncommon.

I personally think biracial people are beautiful. (not that other people aren't, but sometimes I see mixed people and go, "oh wow!" because it's different from what I'm used to.)

Completely agree. I think my two biracial babies are the most beautiful little ones in the world.

My Aunt was very eager to tell me to have as many children as I can because the Mexicans and Muslims are outnumbering the white folk. I made sure to tell this to my husband-- my Mexican husband.

Most people from India are considered Caucasian even though they can be pretty dark-skinned and most of these people (~75%) speak a language with Indo-Aryan roots. The other 25% speak one of the Dravidian family of languages such as Tamil.

I think it's weird that all these people that make so much noise about "Aryan" supremacy don't consider that the greatest number of present day people who have the most right to claim that they are Aryans are brown people.

Anthropologists consider race to be an artificial concept anyway. It doesn't exist biologically.

Sorry to bring this topic up again but I have a question considering this.

In some medicals things, like bone marrow transplants, it's considered very important to get a match from someone who is as close to your race/ethnicity as possible. So I'm just wondering how that all fits in to it being an artificial concept? Could you explain it?

It's important to get someone who's as close to you genetically as possible. Relying on race and ethnicity is a crude way of guessing how genetically close two people will be, but when they actually test your compatibility, they look at your genes, not the colour of your skin. Race is a social construct because, well, it is. Humans' looks exist on a spectrum, not in distinct categories. People invented race when they arbitrarily chose parts of the human appearance spectrum to put in distinct categories. Throughout history, these arbitrary choices have always coincidentally suited the purposes of those making up the definitions.

I've done a lot of reading on this kind of thing and it'sactually more to to with the fundie/right wing conspiracy theories than outright racism. Some preachers believe whole heartedly in the NWO theories that the libruls want to make us all into one homogeneous group without differences. Kind of likecommunism. They also believe part of this process is reducing differences between the sexes, the so called " gay agenda".

Me (Jewish woman) and my African boyfriend can't wait to have kids. And they will be more beautiful and loved than the idiots who go to that church.

Mazel tov!

My (Jewish) grandmother was super proud that her youngest married a Jewish African American women. Biracial grandkids made her the coolest prof in her department. (She was pretty devastated when another son married a non-Jewish woman, though.)

Genetics are real.

How we choose to categorize people, however, is a social construct.

When it comes to genetics, for example, broad racial categories are often less important than specific gene pools. I've been tested for certain genetic diseases because my family background includes a gene pool that's shallower than average. So, "white" is less meaningful than "Ashkenazi Jewish" when it comes to getting a genetic match.

The same thing is true of other groups. French Canadians and Newfoundlanders also have some similar genetic issues - small founder populations mean that certain genes occur with much greater frequency. See http://hmg.oxfordjournals.org/content/1 ... /R167.full

In current North American society, none of these three groups are seen as a separate race.

Societally, we choose to see some differences, but not others.

Definitions of race have changed over time. As well, official definitions change from country to country.

Communism doesn't actually involve everyone becoming "one homogenous group without differences" either. That would be kind of boring :)

I think we'll try to avoid "correct proletarian hairstyles" and being forced to share your knickers this time around.
