Seppi's at another Robinson Wedding, but where is Daddy Art?

Amongst all the Baby Mercy lovefest and baptism (gawd but Regina looks frumpier than ever) are pics of Bethany Robinson's wedding with Fama as a bridesmaid. Blue men's dress shirts abound as usual when there's a Seppi at any formal gathering and the blonde Seppi wears the same damn green dress that she wears everywhere. Bethany might be the least weird looking Robinson, but there are some family members missing if I am correct. A sister and most glaringly, Daddy Art. Am I right? :shifty-kitty:

Go to the March 22 post.

I also found their engagement announcement from The Google. Art's her father alright but where is he? I smell a rat....

I might be a little selfish to say this ... but they do look a bit unfortunate

So out of place and we all know that they have been very sheltered... so sad to see

clumsy...uncomfortable...awkward

it is a little sad that Abigail (Greg's daughter) has started to become like "thems"

she has morphed from wearing more trendy clothing to dresses and cardigans

there aren't too many pictures of her - maybe she doesn't live with them full time?

but the newer pictures show her transformation for sure

Uh oh! I'm sorry. I haven't made too many posts and I thought I broke the link to Seppi Blog but apparently I did not. I ran off to an appt and now cannot edit the post. How do I fix this? Thx!

Memmy, I hope this doesn't mean that we'll still be seeing pics of Abigail in that same dress 10 years from now as is the Seppi habit.

Poor Melody and her headgear. What does headgear do that braces or a retainer doesn't? I've never seen anyone with one in the UK.

Oops. Just noticed the headgear post is from 2008, it was linked on the side menu. But my question still stands...

Can someone explain this family to me? I cannot figure out who is who. I have looked at this blog in confusion before and just sort of gave up!

Y'know, I looked at that one picture of the new mom in her black mini-kerchief, her shapeless blue high-waisted dress with evident post-pregnancy belly still there, her hair hanging - albeit combed neatly - without braiding nor adornment down her back; the one in which her quite-a-bit-older husband stands behind her, his remaining hair uniformly gray; their baby in her arms, the pastor facing them over the baptismal font.

And I thought: "A man could easily look at this scene and think, 'That baby came from when the old man and his young wife had coitus; her belly is still swollen from the presence of the baby in her womb that's attached to her vagina and her chest is larger than usual because her breasts are making milk for the ba....beee.....oh, man, I'm aroused!!!!!!!!!!"

Nope. Better get to the burkahs, and soon, Seppi Family. And spread the word to your friends the Loomii, too. That bias-cut skirt coming to mid-calf on Beckers in the Serven clan photo says it all, despite Beckers' attempt to de-attractivate herself with the black sox: These women is sexay!

Burkas or chaos!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is that a woman in PANTS in the gardening post? I thought the Seppis were super-duper-hardcore?

The Seppis are a beekeeping John Birch family. They were even featured in a documentary on beekeeping. They are also related to the famous Von Trapp family. That's how I found them.

Their eldest daughter Regina married a Birch lawyer with an unfortunate lump and a daughter from a previous marriage. Baby Mercy was born in Feb to this couple of nut jobs. Next in line Fama married sometime ago to a son of Art Robinson, perennial libertarian type POTUS candidate and oddball extraordinaire. He had an infamous feud with a University over his kids apparent inability to master the work while he believed that they were all the most brilliant students to cross their threshold. Not sure what came of that but Bethany claims to have an MS in nuclear science or some such.

There are still several Seppi kids at home and reading their blog has given me hours of snarky happiness. Daddy was a evil socialist gubmint school teacher for decades all the while railing against the very institution that paid his salary. Wifey Esther is ...well... See for yourself. I have noticed lately that she is not wearing her head covering as often. Liberality might be creeping in. Also noticed some rather short sleeves and that she appears to be losing weight. Hmmmm.....

The Seppis are close friend with the Robinsons as well as sharing a couple of their kids. While the Seppis are weird, the Robinsons are the apex of wingnuttery. Google Art Robinson. You will not be disappointed.

Oh and the Dominion Wackiness Troll had a delicious snark at Greg and Regina's nuptials. It was breathtakingly brilliant.

am I to understand that Art Robertson was a somewhat respected scientist who went batshit (or hid his batshit earlier in his career)?

The general consensus back in the day was that he went batshit crazy, like truly diagnosable, after his wife died.

Thanks- that cluttered assault on the eyes blog makes more sense now!

I think Artie has always been wackadoodle. Look at his kids. That's some might strong weirdo genes in that pool.

Art Robinson sounds crazy but I appreciate that all his kids, including the daughters, went to college and graduate school. One of his daughters is working. No SAHDs or College Plus there.

His curriculum is also fairly light on religious doctrine. I think he's more of a political crazy than a religious fundie.

I see some crazy eyes, pork chop sideburns and an almost protruding unicorn horn. They scare me greatly, yet I can't look away!

Great summary - why don't you send it to Curious for posting in the Who's Who section of SOTDRT?

There's no kind way to say this, but the Seppi family is, to a person, remarkably homely. It's like an outward expression of their inward nastiness/severity of belief.
