All Things the Female Misogynist Said [Merged Topics]

I went to a college that is frequently ranked by various media as one of the most liberal schools in America (New College of Florida). Pot and psychedelics are easily found, perhaps more so than booze. The school attempted to secede from the US when Reagan was re-elected, and Bush's re-election was pretty much a day of mourning. Our campus had all sorts of parties celebrating sex and fetishes.

That said, I've never smoked, didn't drink until 21 (and then only in moderation as I don't like being drunk much), and was a virgin on my wedding night. I had plenty of friends who did those things, and if they were offered to me I would politely refuse and keep on with the party or whatever. No judgement required.

I do swear a lot, though, so I guess I'm still a bad person.

My great-grandmothers were quite liberal when they were alive, as far as I knew them. (They were both born in Italy; in 1900s'-1920s'.) The only un-liberal about them was that they wanted their granddaughters to get married at an early age; and liked to go to Church more than than the average person.

Yes, my grandmas were pretty liberal too, both were born in the US, one in 1917 and the other in 1927. They are both gone now, but both were very independent, one was widowed in 1961 and chose to never remarry, even though she had a couple of boyfriends that proposed. She also was allowed freedoms just as if she was a boy when she was growing up (taught to drive, allowed to ride horses alone, sent to business school so she could get a good job, ect...). The other one had a mother who had been a flapper (and her parents eloped), and a grandmother who wore pants before women generally wore pants. My great-great grandma went all the way to the state supreme court to get the property that her parents had left her back in her name after it ended up in her first husband's name. Then she married her daughter's stepson who was 30 years her jr. (this was California in the late 1800's so it still was frontier.)

Just putting this out here to point out that there have always been women who choose to live their own lives, not all have "old fashioned" values, even in Victorian times.

Yes. Yes, you are.

Next thing you know, you'll be helping the mob hide bodies.

I don't think people have a problem with the subject matter, I think they're just annoyed by 1) the fact you've started three threads about the same blogger when it would have been far better to just to create one "the worst of X" thread, and 2) the fact that on all three threads you just dumped a quote and didn't contribute anything of your own. At best, that's laziness and, at worst, leaves the situation open to a less-than-positive interpretation.

First off, I didn't set out to make three threads, I intended to make one, but I found more posts from the blogger that I felt I needed to share.

Second, I almost never had comments and I have never got compliants or told I was "lazy" about that until now.

You said you didn't see a problem with what you had posted, I just informed you of what seems to be most people's (including myself) issues with what you've posted.

... Maybe you can post all the blogs that are about 1 blogger into 1 post? :P That might help people's perception of you being "lazy." You can also comment on any of their ideas that you thought were wacky.

Um....she forgot the entire point of her essay in her tirade about patriarchy and marxism. She was thinking about her platonic friend who turned her into a misogynist.....and yet she didn't finish what she was saying. Probably should have re-read that before publishing it, since all it shows is poor writing skills to lose your point and forget to go back and make that point before finishing.

So, for the basic writing lesson of the day, which clearly those horrible professors forgot to teach her, you open an essay with an introduction in which you set up what you are going to accomplish in your essay. You CLOSE your essay with a conclusion, which must tie back to your introduction and accomplish what you stated in that introduction you were setting out to do. If you cannot tie your end to your beginning, you accomplish nothing but pointless ramblings, not a cohesive essay.

Anyway, it sounds WAY more like a possibility that said friend rejected her armourous advances because said friend was NOT lesbian and was NOT interested in crossing from friend to lover. It's generally rare to have that level of hatred for someone you were truly only platonic friends with, ime.

"A young woman in college can win her father’s approval by remaining chaste, but she can win the approval of many young men her own age by sleeping with them. (As a bonus, she can then win the approval of her feminist professors, which is most of her professors, by later deciding that she was “date raped†and filing charges.)"

That is my favorite, the evil athiest/feminist/marxist/socialist/communist/immoral COLLEGE PROFESSOR. It's ALWAYS the college professor!

She goes on to say that young gals will want peer approval more than parential approval because they are so very inexperienced about life, and in the next breath says to hold kids tight and don't let them go. Apparenty being inexperienced about life FOREVER is the desireable way for women to be....for a misogynist.

This liberal feminist college professor took that as a compliment!

her vocabulary was such that passing sailors routinely fainted from shock.

Am I the only one picturing a whole bunch of sailors passed out at the poor girl's feet?

I wouldn't mind a bunch of sailors falling at my feet

Haha, I have a really embarrassing slash hilarious phobia so I can empathize. I'm definitely only out to at worst gross people out, not to make anyone's life harder!

Nod of the things that annoys me about this kind of thinking is the division of women into "nice girls" and "tramps", where usually "tramps"= poor girls. So the lower classes are meant to be used and cast aside. So poor daughters aren't daughters? They don't deserve protection? And young men don't have to worry about their sexual morality unless they're defiling a "nice girl", because poor people aren't real people.

In the words of Mungo Jerry "If her daddy's rich, take her out for a meal, if her daddy's poor, just do as you feel..." (circa 1970)

TFM writes...

Where men have the “fight or flight†response, women have the “tend or befriend†response. Standing up for principles is masculine behavior. Virtually the only women who can do it are lesbians, like myself, and we are very different in personality from straight women.

She may think male misogynists will give her a pass and make her an honorary man for her willingness to throw other women under the bus. Assuming she is ever treated with what passes for "respect" among those losers, however, even that token recognition of her humanity will evaporate the moment she is no longer useful to them.

(And other female misogynists, many of whom seem to be fundie, would want nothing to do with this woman from the outset.)

Just like Kidist and her racist chums.

"Oh, they don't mean me" is such a powerful delusion.

What the frickety frack does the fight-or-flight response have to do with standing up for principles? Also, anybody who doesn't think that women who like sausage can do fight-or-flight better not be between me and the door if my arachnophobia flares up because it's only mostly cured. And if they try something "funny" like moving the spider closer to my face they will find a broom in THEIR face. No fight or flight my ass.
