So sad. The girl actually wants to get out, but Michelle and Jim Bob won't let her. But, in reality, she's over 18, she can leave. And, because her name is so notorious, I'm sure she'd be able to find some sort of support system (unlike other "unknowns" who are stuck in the same situation).

Hmmm commenter named Emmie Dahl...didn't we used to have one of those over here?

I honestly wonder what they would do to her if she corrected them and said "No, actually, I really want to move to NY."

Brainwashing camp?

Blanket training?

Maxwell courtship?

Prayer closet til marriage?

^^^

Intense conversations letting her know that NYC=being shunned by your family and going to hell. How could she disappoint her family like this and publicly embarrass them? How could she set such a bad example for her siblings. When they go to hell, their blood will be on her hands.

I think that it is so insulting for Michelle to say that Jinger only wants to live near a Walmart. Does she think so little of her children that living near Walmart is a life goal.

Plus the fact that they already live about 15 minutes from Walmart. Michelle is full of crap.

I think it's sad for Michelle to tel, such a blatant lie. They're usually much more subtle than that. It's very obvious if you view the video of them talking that Jinger did not mean anything close to that. Jill was already trying to handslap her before she even finished the sentence.

FYI - this thread viewtopic.php?f=8&t=16325 is also about that article. Although it is titled "Josh has a new job?" much of the conversation is regarding Jinger and her inability to escape.

Is this a legit report, though? I was under the impression that radar online isn't the most reputable source, or am I thinking of something else?

That's sad. She really needs to get out of that house. I heard her comment too; she wants to live in NYC, not near WALLY WORLD.

I wondered , too, if there is credibility to this story but the part about keeping the kids close does sound like Jim Bob. Radaronline claims they interviewed them.

I am seriously thinking, when is it time for an intervention? Relatives, authorities, anyone?

Hurried courtship and marriage, nine month later there's a baby and she has to live wherever her headship says.

Maybe Jana should try it.

Did Jinger actually say that she wants to move to New York City? From what I can remember of the clip, she said "City Please, city please", which could mean any city.

From Michelles response, I got the impression she was clarifying that. The fact that she said she wants to live 15 mins from Walmart could be just an example of how close to a city she wants to live. I don't live in the US, but I gather that if you live in a city, you would usually be 15 mins from a Walmart.

Well, hopefully Jingers dream will come true if she goes to Washington DC with Josh & Anna.

They already live 16 minutes from a Walmart Supercenter according to google maps...that is part of the reason so many are calling bullshit. The other part is that she thinks she can dictate her adult daughter's life decisions.

Actually, Radar is much more reputable and trustworthy than quite a few other celebrity news sources out there (I'm looking at you, The Sun!). This looks like an interview they scored during a media session the Duggar parents/Michelle did to promote the premiere of their new season on TLC. Typical promo work.

New to FJ but not to Duggar boards (TWoP and DWoP).

What's the current guesstimate here on which Duggars will leave the Gothard life? I know this whole site was started with the thought that Jinger would get out... but other than saying she wants to live in a city, I'm not really seeing that anymore.

I think Jinger wants to, as she wants to live in the city. I also cant see her having loads of kids, she doesnt seem like the maternal sort (neither do Jessa and Joy)

Joy is also very different from what a fundie helpmeet is supposed to be, I think she would be way happier wearing jeans and playing sports than skirts and looking after babies.

Out of the little girls, Johannah is way too spirited and awesome to be a fundie, and hopefully she will stay that way til she is old enough to make a break for it. I can also see Jordyn hating her parents and not wanting anything to do with them, as shes the most neglected one.

Out of the boys, Josiah is a definite, he was not happy at the announcement of baby 20, and he seems to not fit in as well in his family.

I think Joy should be on a girl's soccer team somewhere. When TLC is gone...things are bound to get VERY boring in Duggar land. They all have been on the go for years! When things slow down, I predict some depression :|
