Well first of all she may have given up whining :cry: Somebody please hold me, I can't stand it.

Went to visit our soon-to-be new home this past weekend! We were so excited to have the opportunity to meet with the original builder of the house, and he's going to do a little work for us in it to make it more suitable for 10 people ( a second oven, some extra shelves and cabinets ). He got a kick out of the fact that we were going to be living there with 8 kids! It turns out that it was actually built as someone's second home! Ha! I have to laugh that I am not only willing to squeeze into this house and to make it fit us, but I'm really excited about it! WHAT a difference a year makes.......(insert sheepish grin for those that remember how miserable I was when we first moved into our last house). Especially seeing as how this new house is even smaller than the one we bought last year!

SMALLER! I have a feeling she has been attending laundry room therapy.

I smell more fundieism creeping in.

I've been feeling very convicted to do something about this horrible disease, and have been talking with Zack about trying to start some sort of non-profit organization to offer info and maybe raise money to get some of these women the surgery that they so desperately need but their insurance won't cover. Just torn about the whole thing!

Not torn enough so far, to be anything other than convicted. It's the thought that counts.

EVIL TEACHER FROM PRE-SCHOOL!!!

On another note, I was so frustrated yesterday when Jacob's preschool teacher contacted me (for the second time!) to tell me that Jacob still does not recognize all of the letters in the alphabet.

It's preschool......PRESCHOOL!!!!!

And not only that, but Jacob apparently told his teacher that we never practice at home, which is not entirely true...although I will admit it's not a priority. So when the teacher asked me if we practice at home and I replied "yes," she was quick to tell me that Jacob has reported differently.....making me out to look like a liar. Lovely.

Is it wrong that I don't expect my barely 5yr-old to know all of his letters? I was lucky to know mine by the end of kindergarten!!! And what about those that don't put their children in preschool? Do they have to know all their letters before they can attend kindergarten? I mean, most of us pay for preschool, so that would make it OPTIONAL. Why does it seem that everything is being taught at such a young age these days? Why can't our children just be children?

So it's not entirely true, but it's not a priority? Barely 5 yr old? Is this a naked 5 yr old? Is he 5 by a few seconds? Whatever she is saying I am going to adopt this phrase for my own age :lol:

Now Whiner lady is a homeschool veteran of I think 8 months. Yes that was months. Enter stage left LORI!

Ok, enough of that one before I go into the whole "letting others raise our children"spiel

Eh, she'll likely give up homeschooling in the next few months. I believe she's started homeschooling some of the children at least twice before and thrown in the towel only to pull it back out of the laundry room a few months later.

I started reading her blog only recently and look forward to more house porn posts from her. I've seen pictures of her last couple of houses---the ones she complained was so small. I've also seen the new house they just purchased, which she says is smaller than her last one. All I can think is: how big was the house before she downsized?!?! I know she has 8 kids and that requires a larger square footage, but did she live in a mansion? I guess her husband was successful at his old job. I wonder what convinced her to buy a smaller home, and out in the country.

Barring any learning issues, shouldn't her 5 year old be able to recognize most letters? I could read picture books aloud by preschool, because my parents had tons of books around & worked with me a little with workbooks and such. To be so insulted that the preschool teacher is doing her job trying to get Whiner child to read is ridiculous.

However, if she wants to be Lori she'll have to post more frequently. I feel like Lori thrusts her opinion on the masses at least daily.
