What If J'Chelle Had Four Older Boys Instead Of Girls?

It's basically thrown in our faces that it's great to be a guy in the Duggar house, and that they take no responsibility when it comes to child care. Even Boob himself has said that child care isn't his jurisdiction. WTF? They're your kids, and you're a parent. It's not a chore to raise your kids. I wonder what Joseph, Josiah and Jason would be like as older boys, and trying to take on all of the responsibility that the girls do. Also, how many Duggar kids are ADD/ADHD? Do they not know that these conditions exist, or do they chalk it up to boys being energetic?

 

 

I also wonder how many kids Smugger and Anna will have. Will she stop at three? Or try to out baby J'Chelle?

I'd love to see J'Chelle be forced to be an active parent in her young children's lives. I wonder what it'll take for that to happen. Yeah, she didn't hand Josie off the minute she was weaned, but I think Josie was an exception to the Duggar rule. Why does J'Chelle think her oldest girls want to help raise their younger siblings? Oh, wait! They're brainwashed to do so. I remember now.

Agree! With what everyone is say. What I think would have happened is they would either stop after a few kids or like someone else said, Grandma would have to move in & do most of the work.

I think she probably would have forced them into doing "womens" work, the Ardnt family have loads of manboys and one girl and they worked things out.

Honestly? Two scenarios: they would either stop having kids after five or six or the boys would be expected to shoulder much more chores. I doubt Deanna or Amy would be willing to take on the cooking and cleaning because "it's not the boys' jurisdiction". I think Grandma Duggar may also reach her limit if she had to do all the stuff the older girls do now. There's only so much other family members are willing to shoulder for Jim-Bob and Michelle.

I don't know if the younger boys have ADHD. It's commonly mistaken for normal energetic little boys. They could just little boys gone amuck. Little parental discipline or oversight. A bunch of little boys running around. I'm surprised the house isn't more torn apart.

I sometimes chuckle at the thought of what happens if the oldest girls leaves the house. The younger boys would need to take over. Can you imagine realizing how much work they took for granted? I always suspected the older boys did as much chores as normal kids in smaller households. After all, they have four fulltime "maids" cooking, cleaning, and doing childcare.

As for Josh, since he's the oldest, I always thought he did more than the other boys. However, when I saw him struggling to buckle his oldest into the carseat, I realized he probably barely lifted a finger caring for the younger siblings. If the oldest boy rarely has to get his hands dirty, I can only imagine how little the younger boys do now.

I anticipate that Josh and Anna will stop at four or five. Unlike their parents, they did not choose this lifestyle. They may realize how much they like living with fewer kids. Their income is limited. I suspect Josh is not the greatest business person. His house is his grandparents', his car lot is owned through his parents. I mean, it's pretty easy to support a family if he has his mortgage and business expenses are paid for. Josh also makes money from the show. Once the show money dries up, once Josh and Anna gets really used to living with more stuff, once Josh sees his business and family expenses going up, his income going down, I anticipate they will quietly stop having kids.

Their gender roles are from, you know, the 17th century. Back then, men were busy in fields farming or in workshops making stuff. Women had to care for young children because their labor was around the home where kids can hang out. Also, breast feeding is required since formula and refrigeration didn't exist. The duggars still abide by these gender roles because no one has told them what century they live in.

The Arndts aren't really a good example. They are whackadoodle fundies, but they aren't Gothardites and it sounds like they were mainstream Catholics until Rick's ego got out of control. It was no biggie for them to have their boys doing domestic chores and Mommy still teaches the younger boys how to do things like knitting.

This would never have happened with the Duggars. Michelle would have ended up in a mental hospital and/or "accidentally" had her tubes tied if her first 5 or 6 kids had all been boys. But by the time Jana was seven, and she had three sisters right behind her, Michelle could see the light at the end of the birth canal.

I think we'd have Duggar courtships up the wazoo! The older boys would marry off asap to get away from the chaos that would ensue from lack of older SAHD's.The girls in the middle would be equally eager to get away,before spending too much time at home as the eldest girls.

Of course,Michelle could decide to take avantage of having all those grown DIL's..

I think they'll have more than three, but don't see any benefit to them in trying to set a record. Maybe 6-8, tops.

I really hope that's the case. Anna's mom didn't appear to have freaky fertility, but Anna's sister, Esther, does. :?

I think of the first four Duggar kids were all boys Michelle and JimBob would have practices NFP and she would have breastfed her babies a lot longer.

They haven't been leaving their fertility in god's hands, they have been trying up maximise their fertility, and I don't think that would have happened if Michelle didn't have help.

I agree. She never would have stopped. She's too addicted to being pregnant to let a little thing like actually caring for your offspring get in the way!

I think we would have seen quite a few courtships and marriages by now if there had been 4 boys instead of girls. They would be anxious to get out of there, and J'Uterus and the Boob would be all but kicking them out so they didn't have to pay for their upkeep.
