The Duggars and spring cleaning

Do you think the Duggars ever spring clean or deep clean their home (I call it deep cleaning) or just do the bare minimum? I guess I wonder if the house is 'destroyed' like some have said on other forums.

I've never seen a show where they specifically called it "spring cleaning". But I'm sure that every 6 months or annually, the older daughters give the place a bit of an extra clearing out. They don't look like they have a ton of stuff, on the show. It's usually messy, but that would make sense with the little ones around.

However, I strongly doubt that either parent is involved in any major cleaning jobs.

I do hope that they do a good scrub on their floors. The floors always seem to be dirty and I don't think that swiffers would work.

They have a hot steamer equipped in the house, maybe the boys should use it more frequently.

If it ever gets cleaned I bet its Grandma who does it.

I can't imagine a big deep clean or else it probably would have been a VSE. They probably do it in parts so it's not so overwhelming. At least they'll have a new episode idea if the show gets picked up next season.

They missed a great opportunity to show cleaning with the nasty birds in the kitchen vent episode. I wonder if those birds were ever evicted and the vent properly covered. That would go well with showing us the sons really cleaning the high windows, the support beams, and steaming the floors.

A house that size and with that many kids? I don't know, they would need professional help with that. It doesn't look like they have a lot of furniture, but they have to cover so many floor space, plus two kitchens. On top of that, a bunch of kids running around. I think, like most families with young kids, they clean the house until it's "clean enough". Those poor girls. They don't need to be mothers anymore, they've spent their entire childhood mothering. They should spend their adult years learning to be a teenager.

I think they (secretly) would use a maid service for a house that size. They probably have it done during one of the many TLC family outings.

Those poor older girls. :( I just want to rescue them and take them on a backpacking trip around the world, have slumber parties ( the adult kind with wine, of course!), go to ebil Disney World, tutor them to bring them up to speed, and enroll them in a college with an awesome greek life. Those poor girls deserve to live beyond their basic existence as sister moms. How can they possibly be satisfied with their station in life? I'm sure they would argue that they are content. I would counter that contentment does not equal the satisfaction that comes with making your own decisions, making and meeting goals, and thinking your own thoughts. Tragic. Just tragic.

I only have a fraction of the kids the Duggars have and I think it is damn hard to find time to deep clean my house every few months.

My guess is that it either doesn't get done or it is hired out by TLC.

I imagine they do a lot of cleaning up before being filmed. Mainly by the older kids. It would be hard to keep a house clean with all those wild kids, from the photos of my childhood, the house visibly deteriorated with each child, from a spotless room in my baby pictures to a sea of toys as mom filled her quiver.

The cleaning crew is most certainly the J'Slaves and Grandma. Why would Boob waste money that could be used on AquaNet for the family, on a cleaning crew for his house? Grandma should be enjoying her retirement, and living in a retirement community. She shouldn't be a slave to her idiot son and DIL along with her grandkids. Free Grandma!
