Lori Alexander: Beyonce Caused A Sad Day For America

Recommended Posts

lorialexander.blogspot.com/2013/02/a-sad-day-for-america.html

As soon as the halftime started, I asked Ken to change the channel. I saw the previews for her and knew she was a godless woman who danced provocatively. Thankfully, I have a husband who wants to be kept accountable.

Yes, the moral decay of our society is going downhill fast. It may be time to get rid of our televisions soon in our desire to pursue holiness and please God. We must look and act differently than the world so they will see Christ in us. This is the least He deserves of us.

No Lori, it wasn't a sad day for America. The say days for America are 9/11, Pearl Harbor, and mass shootings. A pop star didn't cause a sad day for America.

In the comments section, Lori again brags about how her daughter danced for a Christian ballet company. Lori and Ken probably picked that company out for snowflake Alyssa.

I am not so sure I agree. My daughter danced for a Christian ballet company {http://www.balletmagnificat.com/} for 9 years and they always wore modest, beautiful clothing. She loved dancing for them for that very reason and that they shared Jesus wherever they went!

I'm all for Lori getting rid of her television if it means she will stop complaining about what's on it. But she will probably find a way to continue complaining.

Are you kidding me? She'll never get rid of her TV; she seems to spend a lot of time watching shows like The View and then complaining about what she sees and hears.

She's written that her kids read her blog. Despite this, he writes about her sex life on her blog (ex, talking about those "special hormones " that are created after sex). What is modest about that? I think she should worry less about Beyonce and more about herself.

I am eternally grateful that I was mature and stable enough to marry grown man and not a baby boy who needs a mommy-wife to monitor his television viewing habits for him. Apparently Kensy-wensy has no internal self-control mechanisms. That's unfortunate in a man who's a husband and father and who's supposed to be the spiritual head of his god-fearing Christian family.

Sorry to be OT, but is Lori the one who had the blog post about how great Jacqueline Kennedy was as a role model for mothers (I think so but I can't find the entry, which I wanted to use for something). And then someone chimed in about Sophia Loren and all the commenters waxed on about what great mothers they were.

Which maybe they were, but I found it amusing since both of these women were very glamorous, had demanding and high-profile careers (JK was an editor at Doubleday for years), had nannies, send their kids to boarding schools, and for years lived with men who were at the time legally married to other women.

Do these idiots EVER think about what they are saying?

I agree, she will never get rid of her TV completely. She has talked about watching football with Ken before. She is a Downton Abby and Dr. Oz fangirl. I think she probably avoids a lot of TV shows and certain channels. I can't imagine her watching basic or premium cable produced shows. Basic cable channels are now managing to get away with a lot. I was surprised by some of the content on American Horror Story. Lori probably avoids a lot of broadcast shows because of ebil gays, premartial sex. If she watched some of the musical numbers on Glee, she would scream "soft core porn". She also wouldn't watch Smash because it has a gay character.

I think that might have been Lori. Anytime a celeb says that they want to be a SAHM or wish they could have been, Lori blogs about them and praises them. She blogged about Sharon Osbourne recently. Sharon said in some interview that she wished she could have spent more time with her kids. Then she blogged about an actor whose wife is a SAHM. I have nothing against SAHMs, but Lori irritates me because she acts like they are better than working moms. Lori also messes up on celebrity facts and other times she doesn't do further research. In one posting, she seemed to have thought that Ryan O'Neil and Farrah Fawcett were married.

If you don't like what's on TV then don't watch it! It's really quite simple.

Sometimes I wonder if Lori is so up tight she needs the jaws of life everytime she goes to the toilet...

Exactly. I don't like football, didn't know who was playing, and not even sure who Beyonce is. My TV was off all day. In fact, I can't remember the last time my TV was on.

Hey Lori, want to get rid of your computer too while you're at it? After all, the internet is for porn. :D

snip The most-watched sporting event in world history had a stripper for halftime entertainment. snip

{Dave Daubenmire}

Lorelai and Dave (whoever-he-is) make a great pair of whack jobs. A quick non-analytical Google search demonstrates that the superbowl was not the most-watched sporting event in world history. it rated a little over 100 million viewers.

Both the 2008 and 2012 summer Olympics attracted audiences of a billion or more with 984 million Chinese watching the 2008 opening ceremony. And, if the Chinese don't count Lorelai (though they count much better than you), 219 Americans watched the 2012 Olympic opening.

Most people haven't heard of the superbowl or Beyonce and fortunately even more have never heard of you.

Nobody tell her Thomas is still gay in Downton Abbey!

While she was watching the superbowl, I was watching godly Downton Abbey.

Oh, wait - in this episode ungodly Isobel Crawley had an ungodly unwed mother/former prostitute cooking & serving lunch to the ungodly aristocratic women (who should have been keeping at home & belong to the ungodly C of E). Then when their ungodly headship came to bring them home from the house of evil, they refused to obey him!

So much for the godly good old days.

Damn! I forgot all about watching this week's episode of Downton Abbey. I was trying to watch The Music Man on TCM while that was on. I'll have to see a rerun is on sometime on our public TV's secondary channel.

Seriously? Whatever happened to just changing the channel? My parents have shows they don't approve of, and get this - they don't watch them. It's pretty simple. And surely you must have heard Beyonce was going to be performing. Since you know so much about her, you really could have predicted this.

And I"m pretty sure there was a case of premarital sex as well....

Maybe she watches it critically...
