Masterchef

I hate Monti more than anyone ought to hate a television "star". Her over the top reaction to EVERYTHING, like her little gasps and big puppy dog eyes when someone gets sent home. Plus, I hate that she always whines about how she's a single stay at home mom. Newsflash, lady, when you're single, you don't get the luxury of being a SAHM. You got yourself into this situation, so get off your ass and get a real job to support your very real child. *grumps*

That being said, I'm disappointed in MasterChef as a whole. I love Kitchen Nightmares, am okay with Hell's Kitchen and thought Great Escapes was interesting. I don't like the gentle Gordon in MC and I feel like the "chefs" are often "meh"--they seem like they don't cook any better than I do. The gimmicky back stories don't do anything for me, either, and this season's schilling for WalMart is beyond irksome... Though, has anyone else noticed that Gordon hasn't said WalMart ONCE but every other chef has? I've been waiting to hear him crow, "And here we've got the most BEAUTIFUL WalMart steaks."

I go back and forth about Monti, but I'd be surprised if she wins, based on her edit. Top 4, quite possibly, but she's been portrayed in too polarizing a fashion to make me believe she goes further than that.

Let's see. Based purely on edits, David and obviously Tali are dead men walking. Becky could go deep, but I think they've shown enough dislike of her among the other contestants for me to suspect she's not winning. Stacey still seems like a wildcard to me. Felix is a curious one--featured as a strong contender at the beginning, but faded into the woodwork these last couple of episodes, so she could go either way too. Gordon and the producers seem determined to beatify Christine, but I wonder if they're afraid of having a third consecutive female winner; the other thing is that, at least from what I've seen, she seems popular enough (and has the human interest hook) that she may not have to win to succeed. Which leaves Frank, who's generally been shown favorably aside from one dip into the bottom, and Josh, who's had a more mixed showing but could still peak at the right time. If the show starts amping up the "We've never had a male winner" angle once David and Tali are gone, then the writing will be on the wall.

Of course, all that could turn on a dime tonight or tomorrow, but as long as the winner's one of Christine, Frank, Josh, or Felix, I'm good. Monti or Stacey wouldn't be terrible either.

Yay, Tali is gone! I hated his deluded ass.

It sucked seeing Christine in the bottom three. I really like her a lot. I also like Frank. He's been consistent, and he doesn't irritate me like some of the others.

I take it back—maybe Josh is middle-of-the-pack fodder after all. If I had to say now, I'd guess the final four to be Frank, Christine, Monti, and either Becky or Felix. Yeah, not much of a leap, I know.

Is it just me or is Paula Deen's accent half exagerated? It feels like she's pushing it a little too hard.

My husband and I are watching Master Chef this season. He was rooting for Monti and was sad she got sent home..

Now we are down to the final 3. Josh, Becky and Christine. I hope Christine wins. But really, they are all winners. They have done exceptionally well.

I also like to watch Kitchen Nightmares and Hell's Kitchen when it's on...when I remember that it's on that is. :) Gordan also has on now something called Hotel Hell or something like that. I only caught 1 episode so far so can't really form an opinion on it.

I am rooting for Christine to win she is such a good sport and doing what she has with the visual handicap is amazing. I think the fact she could see once allows her to present the food so well but the episode where she was able to copy the tuna plate almost exactly floored me! I loved it when the skinny Restraunteur(I can never remeber his name) ate crow after the Michelin Star Kitchen episode!!

Am so happy this show is back for another year! How good did that Dover sole stuffed with lobster look? Food porn, pure and simple.
