Lori: Preparing kids to be missionaries in public schools

Recommended Posts

True confession time- I went to Catholic school from first grade through eighth grade. I had the option of attending the brand new Catholic high school (literally, I'd have been part of the school's first graduating class) but begged to go to the local public school, which had new people and more options. I was worried that my uber Catholic grandma would disapprove, so I told her that I felt like God was calling me to spread the word there. Keep in mind, I was thirteen. Looking back as an adult I think my grandma knew I was full of crap and didn't care about public school.

At the Catholic school, I witnessed the boys draw graphic images everywhere, make suggestive comments, and to top it all off, a teacher (grossly unqualified by the way) slammed a student's head into a door for no reason. Safety my ass.
