WBC is running out of money

This subject came up the other day at work. I know that WBC won a few lawsuits and that funded them for a while, but going to these protests must take money and I can't imagine their fundraising efforts being all that successful considering their limited following. Lawsuits are hella expensive and can take years to pay out. Plus, they're probably running out of people to sue.

Out of curiosity, I looked at Shirley's Twitter feed, on the left sidebar its says, "More like Shirley" and Sarah Palin is listed right underneath Fred Phelps. That's telling.

This morning the local radio stations (in CT) started talking about WBC protesting and then all of a sudden started telling everyone to not mention the name, WBC. At least 3 stations decided to not allow the mention of them on the air. This is the best way to deal with them, to not give them the attention.

On Friday a victim will be buried in my hometown (10 minutes from where I live), there is no way on earth that I/we will allow any type of protest at this funeral.

Experiencedd, if you don't want to mention the name here could you PM it to me. I would like to know the name of the motel. I can't believe they are actually here.

That is right down the road. It is in the middle of a retirement community (over 55). I cannot believe they are this close. They better not go near a funeral here, we are a bunch of old fashioned New Englanders around here and we do not suffer ignorance well. I am so mad I want to run over there right now. Has there been any word about protests at the hotel? It's in a bit of an uppity area and wouldn't think public protest would be tolerated and I wouldn't think the hotel would want the publicity.

Based on the documentation released by Anon, the WBC uses a variety of names to book their rooms under, none of which are attached to the WBC.

Really? This sort of fascinates me. Wouldn't they be all "the state is ebil"? I know for a while Phelps made his living by forcing his children to sell candy instead of going to school.

Today's funerals were Jewish kids. I'm not sure thats the target they want since they were ebil heathens to begin with and very little of a jewish service is graveside. They want christian parents to torment.

I'd take that with a big grain of salt. I know of at least one person who was mistakenly included in the list and is now being harassed even though they have nothing to do with WBC.

A friend of mine is close with the niece of Dawn Hochsprung and she says that WBC is planning on protesting her Aunt's Funeral. The family is requesting that there be no protest and that they be ignored.
