*Hitler and Stalin were in an alliance for a year or two until Hitler betrayed Stalin. So the time he was "throwing bullets" would be after he betrayed Stalin.

No one would have been throwing any flowers to anyone. The whole Soviet/Nazi Germany divide is far more complicated than simplistic ideology.

Further, Stalin was no Marxist nor was he a socialist in any sense that we'd understand the word today. Marx wrote about an industrialized economy in which workers had the right to vote and the right to determine representatives' pay and recall them as necessary (i.e. labor unions). Stalin, on the other hand, repressed workers (mostly agricultural workers in the USSR at the time) because he believed it was necessary for the good of the state. Apples and oranges.

I'm not able to explain in great detail here, but if you are interested in knowing more about the roots of World War II there are plenty of good sites out there.

The fundies totally want a fascist society. They'd never admit it, mostly because they have no idea what the word means, and while they may not go as far as Hitler that's exactly what they say they want.

Also I think they said Hitler was a communist because in their minds communist = bad, and Hitler=bad therefore Hitler must = communist. They don't care about logic or facts in any sense, unless to twist them to fit their world view. I wonder if they own a dictionary and ever look up communist, socialist or Marxist. Because they use those words all the time interchangeably with no idea what they meant. I guess they just don't care what they mean because it's not hard to find a simple definition.
