I think it would depend on the presenting genitalia and possibly genetic testing, if their beliefs allowed that. But that child would be raised as one gender.

What Alecto said, plus I think it was also depend on how many boy/girl ratio of children they already have, they may really want one or the other and I think that would play into any decision they made.

That child would definitely be raised as one gender. I also imagine the parents would be even more hyper-vigilant about imposing proper 'correct gender' behavior. I imagine this child would be viewed as the problem child no matter what.

I wonder if they would view this child as a sign of their own sin.

Yup, absolutely would see it as a message from God. Or even the Devil got to the child because they weren't perfect enough.

The experience could make them seriously reconsider the absoluteness of gender roles and abandon them.
