Do these people not realise that just because being gay is OK and they can legally get married, doesnt mean that all of a sudden the entire world is going to turn gay. People arent only straight because they can get married as a straight person or because its more socially accepted, straight people are straight because theyre attracted to the opposite sex, and gay people are gay because theyre attracted to the same sex. It makes me wonder whether these people who say this are actually gay or at least bisexual, and only dont say it because theyve been taught its wrong.

That actually doesn't surprise me very much.

The only other forum I post on is a teaching forum, and most posters there are very conservative. Threads on GBLT issues do NOT end well there. It's great for community about about teaching, but also worrying about social climates around the country and what GBLT kids face in school. I think that is partially what pushed me over here.

When I lived in Enschede, I almost never saw a female duck. I did see loads of pairs of beautiful mallards: two bright green heads cozily nesting together. My photo album is hilarious. It almost became a joke every time I passed a pond to try to find a female duck.

It's funny you say that because I used to get tons of ducks at my bird feeders at my last house. They always came in pairs and they were always m/f except for this pair. They always came together and I thought it was so sweet. (bonus: on my husband's trailer you can see one of the squirrels who inspired my username. They were our babies and we often hand-fed them. We couldn't go outside without them running up and begging. I miss them. *sniffle*)

It gives you a good idea of how sexuality has changed in the last six thousand years. I enjoyed it. And yes I know its a very academic book but very short. I am sick of people not knowing these damn things. When Paul was around, homosexuality was a whole different breed. He was condemning the use of slaves, young boys and lower class men in general.

I love birds! Since I can't have pet birds of my own, (my mom doesn't like them and my dad doesn't like their molting) I put birdseed outside in the birdfeeders for them. Sometimes I can get so up close to them. They're so cute! Especially the American Goldfinches. Ahem, back OT. :D :oops:
