I don't know any of you very well, but I am sorry anyone thinks this is funny and am keeping anyone for whom this is a trigger in my thoughts. Not in a position to get to mad this weekend but if I can offer something else that might lighten things a bit, I hope it helps.

Unfortunately, bouncing my head off of the passenger side window wasn't enough for one of my exes :(

HE ended up herniating a disc in my neck (amongst other things) during an assault on the stairs in my house. His OWN dog bit him trying to get him off me.

Some days, I really hate men.

Ugh, I am so sorry. I can't imagine how painful that would be, both physically and emotionally. Although your mention of the pup trying to help you warmed my heart.

I don't understand why people think abuse is funny. Between the women who receive the violence, the kids who witness it, the cops and medical teams who have to find women battered sometimes to death.... nobody who has had to deal with violence in any way finds it clever or cute to make jokes about "smacking a bitch".

My husband's father used to beat his mother back when he was fairly young. It's really messed him up, he is 30 and still has nightmares about his dad hitting his mom.
