Yup. That was some quality TV and I'm going to miss it. I did like the ending though. Thought they did a decent job tying up the characters, for the most part.

I thought it was decent though there were some lose ends. I liked the throwback to Emma Smith. I learned NEVER EVER to resod someone's lawn.

In the navel& the marrow! Or however goes that line from the temple endowment ceremony.

I woulda changed the storyline to keep them out of Mexico & had lots more of the Greenes...but they didnt ask me, so ...

Ugh, I love love love it, but at the ending I felt swindled. Like, I had built up this four year investment in damn Bill Henrickson, and then...ugh. Did not like at all. Plus I wish that the kids would have stayed for all the seasons instead of Sarah up and moving to Oregon (?) and Teeny supposedly living with them. I felt they could have done a better job with showing the impact of their polygamist lifestyle on all the kids, not just the oldest two (Ben and Sarah).

Still a fan, but the ending just irked me.

Yeah. I think that had more to do with the fact that the actresses wanted out. Amanda S. (I can't spell her last name and am lazy) moved onto other projects so they wrote her character out, same with the girl who played Teeny. I would have liked to see more of them because Ben always drank the kool aid and Sarah pretty much rejected the lifestyle and Teeny seemed to believe in it. I wondered if Teeny would continue to, especially since the whole Ben Margene Letter thing. I seemed like Ben might become a polygamist and the Heather thing was enjoyable but rushed, like she turned on a dime. The same with Sarah coming back in the end.

So, am I right in thinking at the end, Margene is leaving her kids with Barb and Nikki?

If so, makes me like Margie a bit less, and she's my fav (can't STAND Nikki).

Also, what happens in those situations, if the polygamist husband dies, can all the wives remarry?

Do they all have to marry the same guy?

Coz, I mean, what if Heavenly Father calls one or all of them to join another man to the family, or does Heavenly Father never do that?

I loved that show! The wives' dynamic was always amazing. I was really disappointed in the end. I didn't believe that that guy would shoot Bill. I thought he might get really mad and possibly do something crazy, but not shoot him. I also was hoping that Ben would become a polygamist. All in all, too "happy-ending" for me.

That said, I did enjoy it. Even though I feel guilty looking in on others' secret rituals, the episode with the temple ceremony was my favorite.

I think she did yeah. At least I made that assumption because Nikki told her to call this time. Marge is alright, though a bit childish. I LOVE Nikki. She's great. She's damaged and I think, despite the fact that she does bad things, she does them with good intentions. (Except the Ray thing). She's not afraid to just go there, she says what she thinks. I like them all for different reasons though. I never understood the marriage solution either. I always assumed they could remarry. They seemed to be still living together.

Petals- I wanted Ben to be a polygamist as well. Part of me wanted him to be the "prophet" of the compound and make it good again.

I learned to NEVER EVER EVER resod someone's lawn. EVER.

Of course, in regards to Margine, keep in mind she was only about 23 when the show ended, even though her actress looks much older. She was essentially robbed of her childhood between her mother's alcoholism and marrying Bill at 16.

I LOVE Nikki, definitely my favourite character :)

I tried to find the old thread (s?) but couldn't. I didn't participate in it originally because I hadn't seen the last few episodes yet and didn't want to be spoiled. Does anyone know where it is?

      Stupid loneliness!
Kid 1 went back to college (yeah! But sad foe me, she stayed with me all summer. It was nice to start a new phase in our mother/daughter relationship)
Zero prospects on dates. (Not that I have tried online dating, scared of that but I have reached put to a new group at church, etc.
I asked a friend to go to dinner the other night so I wasn't eating alone, again. The friend had plans, all my friends always have plans. I see stuff on social media, I'm never invited. I'm single, I'm the 3rd or 5th wheel.
My one parent friend at kid 2's fall sport won't be there because their daughter made varsity (Yeah for her!!! Seriously happy for her. Sad for me for another sport I basically sit alone, did that majority of spring and summer sporting events.)
And now I'm crying as my mom told me 2 different funny stores that former teachers remembered about my twin. Both stories were about how they got a crack out of my twin's antics (my parents went to a funeral today and saw former colleagues). Teachers remember me (after all I was a twin and teachers' kid) but none would have memorable stories of me.
      I feel invisible.
Don't worry, this will pass,  it always does. I just need a pity party for a few days. I'm not in anyway going to harm myself. As lonely as I am, I have a very full life I (usually) love. I just needed to vent and cry for a moment.
If you are still reading this, thanks Fjer. 😊

Absolutely awful about the fires on Maui. In 2019, I stayed in Lahaina. I liked to sit on the sea wall, which is the only structure left now, and watch the water. People are receiving help, but many had to leave pets. Please donate to the Maui Humane Society, which is leading efforts to find, treat, and reunite pets.

Nebraska’s new football coach, who is involved in an organization called Man Up Ministries, labels certain players “Alphas” and sometimes “extreme Alphas” and the local paper has a nice piece on why people objecting to the term “alpha male” are wrong and it has a “nice ring”. 🤮🤮🤮🤮
