Toronto International Film Festival

Any FJer's having fun at TIFF these days? It's always a bit difficult for me because university starts up at the same time, but I have had a chance to look around. So far I've seen three films, one each from France, China and Japan. The Japanese one (The Cowards Who Looked to the Sky) was particularly well-done, though there are lots of graphic sex scenes if you don't like that sort of thing. It's always great to see movies you wouldn't normally know about.

As for celebrity sightings - I think I saw Robert DeNiro...

Are you going to school in Toronto? When I was at U of T, me and many of my friends volunteered with the festival. It was a great way to catch some films!

Yes, I'm at U of T. Didn't volunteer though, as I was in BC all summer and couldn't make the orientation.

And that leaves me with another movie to recommend - The Reluctant Fundamentalist. It's an interesting story of a Pakistani man and his relationship with the United States...definitely watch it if you can.

(PS: Which college were you in? I'm Trin.)
