Anna from Maidens of Worth Engaged

Yes, I got the impression Miriam was backing away from it a while and I think that's why they closed the site, there are photos of her in pants...though I don't know how fundie her family was to begin with or whether this was just this fantasy her and Anna dreamed for themselves...

Is she dating though, not courting? I couldn't tell from her facebook.

Thanks for the update, do you know them or did you just do some super stalking?

That's a long engagement fundie-wise, but others have said, not terribly long to have sex for many other people  oh Anna you're so virtuous.

Her and Anna's family were friends so I'm assuming they have the same conservative but non fundie beliefs since both girls enrolled in college, but Miriam stuck around while Anna dropped out. While I still think she holds some conservative beliefs I think she's finally left it behind and the guy she's dating it has been awhile over a year as I last recall.

While Miriam probably doesn't qualify as fundie any more, I get the impression that she's still a very conservative Christian. She is engaged, and her future father in law is a Baptist minister.

THis was my parent's reaction when, after dating a guy for a year and a half, I met a new man at college on Sept 30 when I was 20 and was engaged by Thanksgiving. We married the following June and it will be 34 years this summer. This was so very much not a courtship, and my parents shock was enhanced because I (and they) had always assumed grad school before serious talk of marriage to anyone. They didn't use duct tape, but instead basically tag teamed me for the entire thanksgiving weekend about what a horrible mistake I was making....they were so very wrong. This girl should be so "lucky in love" as I've been.

I did nearly the same thing (though I haven't been married near as long!) But, and I can't stress this enough, WE WERE ADULTS WITH EXPERIENCE. I knew I wanted to spend my life with my husband so fast precisely because I'd spent some time with some duds.

To be fair, I knew within an hour of meeting my husband that I was going to marry him. We were engaged less than five months later and married ten months after getting engaged. It's been 23 very happy years now. Sometimes you just know.

However, when we met, I was 27 and he was 25, we both had masters' degrees and fulltime employment, and neither of us was living at home (or even in the same city) as our parents. I think that makes a difference.

Edited to ask where my profile picture went...did it get lost in the changeover?

My parents met, were engaged and married in 3 months and it only took that long because my grandmother insisted on a church wedding. Apparently they were planning to elope. They will be married 25 years come Tuesday. However they were almost 30 and it was a second marriage for both of them.

I danced through my living room feeling awesome. From time to time I do this. Maybe wine is involved. Good music is definitely involved. It is awesome. I recommend it to you. With or without wine.

After a few months of trying to decide what kind of new computer to get and my brother telling me a Mac would be the best decision I could ever make and my sister telling me that would be the worst and I ought to stick to Windows.... I now have a used Mac. I am trying to get used to it. Not easy, but the Magnifying program is a lot better than the Windows one (that was the ultimate reason for my decision) and FJ works a lot better than on my 10-year old Laptop, too!!

Y'all, holter monitors suck. And naturally the palpitations that caused this test to be ordered are remarkably absent today.
I'm off to go work out in the hopes that triggers it. T minus 10 hours till I get this thing off.

I frigging hate the toilets at this worksite. Specifically the door locks. Stupid little knoblet that isn't clear if it is locked or not. Door opens right off the main hallway and the toilet is just far enough from the door that I can't just hold the door shut in case I've got the lock wrong. I mean really people, how hard is it to design this? I just want to pee in private with no anxiety. Apparently that is too much to ask for.

First thing I'm doing when I get to the hereafter is finding the ancestors who moved to the US in the first place and asking them what the fuck they were thinking moving here in the first place.  Along with giving them an epic the reason you suck speech hopefully in the presence of God and the Lord Jesus Christ Himself to all of them for condemning their descendants to living in a shithole.

Do any of you play Dyson Sphere Program?   For those who don't know what it is I'd suggest Googling it, because there's no way I could do it justice.
There's always just one more thing to do before I turn off.  Blink!  And it's 2 hours later.
