    Debra The Designer

Remember that designer lady they had help w/designing their house in 16 Children & Moving In (Debra Demair/Demare/however it's spelled)? Whatever happened to her? Not that I'm super into designing, as I'm not, but I've been curious to know what happened with her since the show aired (but not enough to look it up on Google & not bother everyone here with my question). Any ideas/knowledge?
  2. Not sure if anyone has seen this one. I saw it on the Pickles Fb page. Michelle's head may explode.
  3. When they moved into the TTH, TLC gave each of the 5 oldest girls beds with their names on the headboards. Do you think they get to keep them? Or will Boob just use some white out and repaint the names?

Don't Do Dinner at the Duggars

So I just finished reading Growing Up Duggar. I want those 2-3 hours of my life back. For those of you that haven't read it, just imagine every preachy sentence Jill has ever uttered crammed into 231 pages. Now you don't have to waste time reading it. You're welcome. Oh, I also didn't buy it. I got it from the library. Anyway, in the final pages the girls (Jill) talk about their parents training them on manners and on how to be respectful toward adults . They talk about how they all work as a team to clean up the house and prepare meals before they have one of their many dinner guests to the house. They write: "Many times our parents have guests over and then ask if it would be okay if we watch one of Jim Sammons's Financial Freedom Seminar messages together from embassyinstitute.org and then discuss it afterward." Say what?! So basically they feed them TTC and Jessa's burnt rolls on styrofoam plates with a plastic fork. Then they trap them into their financial and religious beliefs. I guess it still beats the time they made Sarah Pope cook her own tater tot casserole. So much for manners.
  5. Forgive me if this is old news... http://www.people.com/article/ben-seewa ... fd8e5c0cf7 The Duggars have a new addition to their family home in Tontitown, Arkansas – and he's somebody you know: Ben Seewald, Jessa Duggar's new fiancé! So, how does that work? "He moved up here a few weeks ago," Jim Bob, 49, tells PEOPLE exclusively. "It has been really good. He has been able to spend a lot more time with Jessa and our family. We have a guesthouse in front of our house, with a shower and everything, separate from the main house." Side hugs have given way to hand-holding now that Jessa, 21, has accepted Seewald's marriage proposal and the two are now planning their wedding. But, as seen in this exclusive clip from the season premiere of TLC's hit reality show 19 Kids and Counting, things could get interesting now that Seewald, 19, is at the Duggar home. "I'm very excited that Ben is moving in today," Jessa says in the clip. "I think it will be awesome to get to spend more time with Ben and see him on a daily basis instead of once or twice a month." Jim Bob says he hired Seewald to do work for him while he continues his college courses online. "Ben was living four hours away in Hot Springs with his parents," Jim Bob says. "After Michelle and I were talking about it, we have so many projects to do that we need help for – everything from construction projects to keeping the grass mowed to putting roof on a building, paperwork and things like that – and we asked him if he would be interested in moving up here so that Jessa and his relationship could be really accelerated. He was all for it and his parents were happy about it." Still, does it make all the chaperones jobs a little bit harder? "They always have a chaperone," Jim Bob explains. "It has just worked out great. It is a little more labor intensive for Dad – we did set a curfew. By midnight, every night, we need to make sure everybody is back in their place. Jessa and Ben have set up their own courtship standards. They did not hold hands until they got engaged. After they got engaged, they started holding hands. Just like Jill and Derick, they will be saving their first kiss for their wedding day. 'You Want to Show Love and Affection' Jill and Derick Dillard, who recently spoke to PEOPLE exclusively about their pregnancy news, also weigh in on Seewald's new digs. "You're human, and the physical side is there for a reason," Derick says in the clip. "Naturally, it is going to be difficult if you try to refrain that." Jessa's mom, Michelle, 47, agrees. "Any time you are in love and are together, you realize you want to show your love and affection," she says in the clip. "But when you have purposed to keep those protections in your life, you have to remember and have that accountability." 19 Kids and Counting returns Sept. 2 at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
  6. Which of the Duggar kids do you think is most likely to build a house on J'Chelle and Boob's land and live there as an adult, with their family? I say Josie for sure. Maybe some of the boys. I think Joy and Johannah will go as far away as possible.
  7. duggarsblog.blogspot.com/2013/04/tour-duggar-girls-room.html Jill stands in place while the camera rotates. The bed count seems a bit short, but are those 2 double beds? Add an upright piano, and that room is full. Also, Jill wears glasses to study. Aw. Maybe her strange expressions are a result of trying to focus without squinting?
  8. New video clip featuring Jed Duggar: duggarsblog.blogspot.com/2013/04/tour-duggar-boys-room.html I watched it through 3 times, counting beds. Jed says there are 10 for the 8 boys, There are 8 + 1 futon + 1 trundle bed. And why do the boys get one each + 2 spares, while the girls double up? Hmmm? Oh, right, that designer gave them pretty white beds that don't stack and have huge head and foot boards. Well, the girls' mattresses are probably years younger than some of the boys - those are the bunks from their rental houses. Why did I just waste valuable homework time on that?

    Tour the Duggar Pantry

With Jessa and her stripey shirt! (Sorry for not imbedding the video) duggarsblog.blogspot.com/2013/04/tour-duggars-pantry.html Really, I love her shirt and want one. And I'm not even ashamed for starting the topic just so I could say that.

    The Duggar Homes

So I reread 20 and counting and something hit me I never knew. I know the first Johnson road home was scheduled to be demolished, but I never knew that after the Duggars were done renting out the other home they demolished that one too. Do the Duggars "destroy" (might not be the right word) the homes they live in? I have heard from someone (I don't know where I will try to find the link) that the Duggars don't keep their things very nice and now the new house doesn't even look that good. Now the TTH is custom built for the Duggars, but let's say the Duggars decide to move (which I bet will NEVER happen). Would anyone find the house useful for their family? I mean 2 big rooms for siblings, 2 kitchens, and heck even a bathroom with 2 toilets! So let's say you want to buy the Duggar home what would you use it for? What would other families use it for? Also, I call bull on half of the timeline and stuff in that book. My favorite part was when they needed top soil and it was 200 dollars a truck load. Then a few weeks later some truck driver just happened to be selling the topsoil from a construction site for $20/ truck load. They bought 90 truckloads. I am not math expert by any means but 90? That seems like a lot of soil! All in all, I wonder how the Duggar house has really held up. Sure we see certain rooms on the show, but not all- such as the prayer closet. We know they lie, we also know they moved the beams around several times when building the TTH. I personally think they moved out of the city because no one in town wanted them anymore, but may be that is just what I want to think haha

    Home alone- Duggar style

I just thought about this while watching Home Alone today- Wouldn't one of the Duggars LOVE to be home alone. I mean heck to have that crazy house be quiet. I guess this would work for any of the fundie families One major error- Michelle probably wouldn't realize on the plane her child was missing... perhaps once they arrived
  13. Has anyone ever see the layout of the Duggar house?? http://www.kodiaksteelhomes.com/images/DuggarFloorPlan.pdf A few things come to mind: 1) They have a bathroom right off the dinning room so the door opens into the dinning room?! Ew. 2) Prayer room! 3) Do the girls seriously have to go through mom and dad's room to get to their bedroom?! 4) The boys room is significantly bigger and nicer than the girls room. 5) Why do both parents need an office? Michelle doesn't work, remember? They each have an office on opposite floors. 6) I find it convenient that the boys are on one end of the house (above the playroom with a slide going to it nonetheless) while the girls are the other end with mommy and daddy
  14. Someone mentioned on TWOP that the Duggars have security cameras installed in their home and my reaction was pretty much . Is this really true? If so, that's truly sick. It's one thing if you have family rules like keeping your door open if someone of the opposite sex is in there with you (pre-teens and teens, obvi) or checking a teen's cell phone on occasion (especially if you paid for it) in case you suspect they are sending dirty texts or being harassed, but spy cameras are an extreme that I cannot imagine imposing on my future children. It just seems icky.
  15. Go to 12:30. Michelle gives a tour and shows off the prayer closet!
  16. Buy used and save the difference! http://www.privacypop.com/
  17. differ? They had started building their house, but TLC finished and decorated it so they could get on with the show. I guess they would have finished it eventually. I'll bet the finishes would have been much "cheaper" and the furishing 2nd hand and miss-matched. They probably wouldn't have had enough $$ for the big bus. Their traveling would have been much less. Their lives would be much simpler. I wonder if Josh & Anna would have married. Boob wouldn't have had the extra $$ to support a 2nd household. Josh would have actually had to have figured a way to actually work. Maybe they would have married eventually, but not as young. I wonder if little Josie would have gotten the care she needed at birth. They wouldn't have been able to afford the rental house. Maybe Mullet would have been forced to stay at a Ronald McDonald house or with another Gothard family.
