So, the Seven Sisters posted a new blog, the first in FOREVER. Look at Anna. LOOK AT HER. She's got a boyfriend, and is wearing shorts and a tank top. My GOD. Look at Cassia. LOOK AT HER. No frumpy clothes! She's living on her own! Look at Sussanah. LOOK AT HER. OH MY GOD!
Looks like Anna Richardson from the Seven Sisters got engaged today to her boyfriend, Calbert Forks. I'm so happy for her. It's amazing to see how the girls have grown up and blossomed. When I began reading their blog years ago, I never guessed that the frumper wearing, head covering and purity ring wearing girls would have ever grown into the woman they are today. Too bad other fundy families haven't grown and matured the way the Richardson girls have. Kudos to their parents for allowing them to expand their horizons. Congratulations and best wishes to Anna and Calbert! \
I was browsing through the Seven Sisters fb page today. I found it through Lori's chatgroup (apparently they are members). Anyhow the sister who works as an EMT has applied for a job as a phlebotomist at a local hospital. That's a real job! A job (I think) with salary, benefits, etc. A phlebotomist! So glad this girl is not waiting around for Prince Charming (Prince Charmings seem to be few and far between in their area, since none of the sisters have married). Another sister is working at a public school. Though she makes fun of the tradition of school pictures, I'm glad she is out of the house. And I mean, really, school pictures? Could anything be less harmful? There's a lot to criticize about public school, but school pictures is pretty benign.
Susannah of Seven Farmgirl Sisters is heading off to college for midwifery. She hasn't said where yet. I also didn't know that she's worked at a post office for three years. And, if any of you remember, Jessica has taken up flying and recently passed her flight exam, and Cassia is working on becoming an EMT. I really do have a soft spot for these girls, and wish the best for them.
