  1. I thought we had a thread on Celebrity Christians! and their warm fuzzy uber hip churches. Hillsong, Zoe and Homechurch were the churches referenced in this VOX article The rise of the star-studded, Instagram-friendly evangelical church Chris Pratt, Justin Bieber, and the “cool” Christian celebrity. All well, good and welcoming if you are straight and conservative and (overwhelmingly) white. I came across this twitter thread written by a trans person about their experience with exactly this type of church. Everyone loves you as you are until they find out who you really are and then they don't. Also, an article by Ellen Page calling out Chris Pratt for attending Hillsong Church Ellen Page Calls Out Chris Pratt for Attending ‘Infamously Anti-LGBTQ’ Church <snip>
  2. Wonkette discussed how all around dumb person Rush Limbaugh is having a freak out that the President is creating a bunch of lesbian farmers to make rural American less conservative. wonkette.com/605735/rush-limbaugh-so-mad-obama-creating-army-of-lesbian-farmers-to-destroy-america
  3. That's right. Another incident - this one in Missouri - of a waiter getting no tip and a stupid note left behind. This one has the added benefit of the waiter having to ask what it meant since he was from Guatemala and didn't 'get' the message. They made the man cry. One of the three people involved has apologized. Seriously - I'm preaching to the choir here at FJ - but at no point does leaving nasty notes and stiffing the waiter scream 'come be a Christian.' http://www.gaystarnews.com/article/gay-wai-ter-gets-homophobic-note-instead-of-a-tip-at-kentucky-diner/#gs.KaWR714

    When Does It stop?

Given the horrific incident that took place at the club in Orlando, I cannot bring myself to be funny or post puns. I am totally fed up with humanity and how someone can senselessly take away the multiples of lives with the gutless use of an assault rifle. It just sickens me and tears at my heart. That this sick bastard would use his hatred for LGBT people as a means for perpetrating his terrorist action is completely sub-human. Yet, I do not hold this against people of any particular beliefs or race. This wasn't about Islam or Muslims. This was about someone with a totally blackened heart, full of hatred for people that were of NO threat to him, or anyone else for that matter. My heart cries for these innocent lives lost, those injured, and the families of everyone directly impacted by this act. My heart cries for the continued loss of life at the hands of gun violence. As I ask in my title for this blog entry, when does it stop? Just sayin...
  5. US Supreme Court supports lesbian adoptive mother, 8 to 0. Here's a good giggle from Wonkette:http://wonkette.com/599375/supreme-court-lets-lesbians-be-mommies-civilization-to-end-by-dinnertime

    Intro post!

Decided to start with this blog feature! I'm calling it the Gay Agenda because I'm guessing I'll mostly write about my daily life, which does not include ripping up the fabric of society or wrecking others' marriages! Also, cat stuff, law/bar prep stuff, and probably politics will get mentions. And if I keep this blog up long enough, I'll talk about my one sport I engage with- World Cup Soccer! I am not happy about Russia hosting (understatement of the century), but I'm already excited for 2018.
