Cleopatra7 posted a topic in Quiver Full of PoliticsIf you had any questions that the outcome of the 2016 Democratic primaries was rigged, here’s your smoking gun, straight from Donna Brazil: https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/11/02/clinton-brazile-hacks-2016-215774 I can’t seem to quote on my phone, but the whole thing is quotable. It illustrates how dysfunctional the Democratic Party has been, and the rot didn’t just start in 2015 or 2016. Those of us who want real change need to look outside of the electoral system and the dead ends of both parties.
Mozzie posted a topic in Other Families - "One Offs"The Activist Mommy has made a video based upon a report she read that Hillary D. Rodham Clinton may be training as a Methodist minister. My favourite comments are listed: Hillary will read a book of Satan, Mein Kampf, Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinksi She will teach children and teens the Teen Vogue pro anal sex issue. Hillary will give people cannabis food and shots of vodka for communion. The Bible doesn't support same-sex marriage. The Bible doesn't say anything about male-male or female-female marriages! Off topic, do Methodists celebrate Communion? The saddest bit is TAM has no respect for women and would force them to have children against their will 1:37. ;(
I thought I would start a new thread to talk about the election recount, since there's so much new information. As most of you probably already know, Jill Stein has filed for recounts in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania and Trump and various other Republicans are trying to stop it. Here's an update on what's happening: http://www.dailykos.com/stories/2016/12/2/1606691/-Update-on-the-WI-MI-Recount-Battle Jill Stein has posted pictures on her website that she says show that 5 of the 9 voting machines being used in the Wisconsin recount have seals that were tampered with: http://www.jill2016.com/wendy_st_croix_county Michigan: And, in Pennsylvania: Does anyone else feel like this election has turned into a fucking soap opera? Has anyone else used more profanity in the last month than in the whole rest of their lives put together?
Destiny posted a topic in Quiver Full of PoliticsI'm super excited for whatever "head fake" surprise that Trump has in store for us: http://money.cnn.com/2016/10/19/media/steve-bannon-donald-trump-presidential-debate/index.html This topic will open at 7pm eastern. I'll try to keep up with recapping again this time.
Happy debate day ladies and gentlemen! This topic will unlock 2 hours before the debate, and we will be doing all debate conversation here. @HerNameIsBuffy and I will be doing our best to recap the festivities. .....I'm actually sorta excited for this, not gonna lie.
So here we are almost May and I haven't cast a vote yet. My state does not vote until June 7, but I already requested my (absentee) ballot. It should arrive this week. Background-- I'm a lifelong Democrat and a campaign staffer who will most likely be gone by primary day (hence the absentee ballot). I long thought the race would wrap up by the time it came here, but it looks like my vote may count afterall. Even though I work in politics, I don't get as excited about presidential races as most do. I prefer the action down the ticket (Congressional, statewide, state legislatures, etc). I can make the case for both Hillary and Bernie. However, I can make an equal case against both of them too. Ultimately, my main goal is to have a nominee that will stop a President Trump or President Cruz. (I had a hard time in 08 too as my first choice, John Edwards, dropped out before my state voted). This time my first choice (NY governor Andrew Cuomo) didn't get in the race (and I knew he wouldn't as he's a good friend of the Clintons and he would not run against her). (I'm sure he endorsed her but I'm not positive). So any Hillary or Bernie fans--- make your case to me. Do I play my woman card or feel the Bern?
So it comes to my attention that none of the "important people" (Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, Hillary Clinton, etc.) are reading these blogs or the FJ pages. Then why do I even bother? I need a large napkin to wipe all the sarcasm off my face there.
Lately, all I'm seeing from my liberal friends is people jumping on the Bernie bandwagon. And apparently he is oh-so-much-better than Hillary because: -Apparently getting corporate funding means you aren't genuine? -Also, people who are planning on voting for Hillary(like me) are just voting for her because she's a woman (can't possibly be her effective policy history) -Apparently Hillary is the exact same as a Republican for policies she used to support but now doesn't (people claiming she's a racist because of this stupid meme about her working for Barry Goldwater in high school) TBH I don't even mind Bernie, I'm just so irritated at people who look at unrealistic policies (many of which are little more than slogans about how bad Wall Street is) and throw bitch fits about the one candidate that has a legitimate shot at a. keeping Republicans out of the White House and b. actually being able to work with a likely Republican-controlled congress. I'm not even that enthusiastic about Hillary, but DAMN. I'm just really irritated that people believe bullshit (a lot of times sexist bullshit) and are so fanatic that they can't possibly see any reason why someone wouldn't think exactly like them.
Little Rock airport renamed Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport after unanimous vote. http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/ ... story.html Between this and Mittens's victory in Illinois, the Duggars are just not in political happyland this week.
