Oh yeah - they took me there. And it might be a good thing that we're in different states. I'm covering costing for another location. The previous cost accountant left. This is a threepeat for this location. And apparently they have yet to get the memo down there that 'my way IS the highway.' I'll spare you the boring cost accounting dork details and leave it at, if you want me to cost part 1234. Please do not refer to hasn't been bought in more than 3 years part 5378. Corporate changed rules on us last year and the things ya'll think I can do - I can't anymore without a form filled out. And approved. Oh and every part that may be involved in the known universe has to be included. And since my name goes on the recost I'm sorry but we're following the rules. (because coworkers, like them or not, are not worth losing your job for). I've gone round and round with this plant with a fundamental lack of understanding of the rules. Oh and a case of 'i'm sorry but we messed that up' minutes after my costing things so they're all on the naughty bench in my world to begin with. We'll add to the issue that the controller is not experienced with cost accounting things so I'm educating him along the way. Pardon me - I have grumping to do and emails to ignore until I calm down.
