    Hair Products

I hope this isn't too off topic for the forum....but I count my hair products as cosmetics.... What are your current favs? I have "skinny" hair, and have just started using DryBar products. Whoosh! Big(ish) hair for the first time in my life!! It's great! I'm sure this has been discussed before, but it drives me crazy to see Aussie stuff all over the Duggar counters!
  2. I'm 31 and I cannot apply eyeliner to save my life. I can use a liner brush and get a little along the lash line. Lately I've been trying to learn more because I REALLY want to use it. I found a tightlining eyeliner at sephora and I really love that. I can do the upper waterline... but I can only just do a basic touch and my eyes still run like a faucet. I've tried to use gel, liquid, ink pens... you name it, I have it, and I just want to be able to apply a basic line of black eyeliner . Does anybody have a suggestion?

    General Cosmetics Discussion

I thought this would be a great place for random things like a new product you just tried or questions for other posters, etc. This is so fun!

    Cosmetic nostalgia

Anyone get notalgic for old cosmetics you can't get anymore? i don't recall the brand but I loved, loved, loved this cornflower eye makeup remover that came in a dark blue glass bottle. Smelled like summer. and I still wear Love's Baby Soft because it's the smell of happiness. I miss having Halsa hair. (can still sing the jingle) Bonnie Bell lip smackers. Cannot tell you how much of my allowance went toward every flavor of those (although bubblegum was and will always be the best) And rememeber that clear super shiny lip gloss that went on with a rollerball...glass tube? What was the name of that? Their bubblegum was also excellent. ribbon barrettes? okay I'm done - going to go find a time machine ...

    Lipstick

What are your favorite lipsticks? So far, Tom Ford is the one I'm really familiar with (and I love it). I've only recently started wearing lipstick, as I mainly focus on eyes and hoarding fuckloads of lip balms and glosses .
  6. I saw a list on BuzzFeed this week about products from places like Sephora that are worth every cent. I bought one of the items - the Estee Edit Pore Stick for $28.00 and oh my god. AMAZING. Awesome. So, FJers - what beauty products do you use that are worth every single cent?
  7. I order a lot from memebox, and I do ipsy. What else is out there for makeup, skin, and haircare? I LOVE skinfood products and bb creams over foundations.

    Fragrances, ahhh!

Perfume, cologne, body sprays, toilet water (remember that?). Talk about it all here! A couple of FJers gave me "clean" fragrance suggestions that I just love. I bought Sephora's Cool Clean, so light and fresh, I love it! Got to try Philosophy's Amazing Grace but will order from QVC to save money.
  9. I try to dodge MLMs, but got sucked into attending an Arbonne party given by a friend of the family. And, yeah, being a skin-care junkie, I spent *cough* dollars. The stuff SEEMS pretty good, but can someone suggest an alternative that won't break the bank?

    LUSH

Am I the only person on here that LOVES Lush products? If not, what are y'alls faves?
  11. I have a slight obsession with Burberry cosmetics at the moment. It is a relatively newer line compared to other high-end cosmetic lines. Their quality is impeccable, and I find their products to be much better than most other lines I have tried. In this thread I will post pictures of the eye shadows or whatever products from the line I have. I will start with the eyeshadows first. Below is No. 06 Plum Pink Complete Eye Palette. Retail is $60 US and can be found at Sephora, Burberry, Nordstrom and Saks in the U.S. Next is No. 100 Single eyeshadow in Porcelain. Retail is $29. U.S. These can be used wet or dry. They go on smoothly with no fall out and blend like dream. This is No. 002 Nude. This single shadow is from the glow line. It offers a more metallic finish without looking too shiny. Good shadow for a one color look. Retail $29 US.
  12. Can anyone suggest a lotion or cream that will keep my aging cuticles and thin, brittle nails in good shape? I apply lotion or hand cream three or four times a day, but need something with moisturizing superpowers!
  13. I've had Rosacea since my mid 20s and have had limited success with a few different gels and creams but I still have a lot of redness. I've been using Complex 15 as my moisturizer for years as it's the only one that doesn't make my face feel like a dried out mask, or break out. But I wonder if there's anything better out there? I'm also considering laser because I have some broken capillaries on my cheeks that look awful. Anyone find a good way of tackling this?
  14. I am going to buy a new finishing powder. No color or shimmer, matte translucent only. I am considering the Amazonian Clay one by Tart or Bye Bye Pores by IT Cosmetics. I was never terribly impressed with the mineral veil from Bare Minerals. Any other suggestions? Drugstore or salon quality, either suggestion is fine.

    Concealer for pale skin?

Any recommendations for concealer for pale skin? Preferably not super expensive, but tbh if it's a holy grail I'll drop some money on it. I have some mild breakouts (damn these late teen years) , and my preferred BB doesn't quite cover them. Lots of products I've tried are too yellow and/or too dark, and tend to oxidize on me and look all orange

    Primer for Redness?

I need a new primer. Redness is the main issue I deal with. I tried Pixi previously, and it was okay. I love IT Cosmetics, but the one they have is $30.00 so I would like to see if there is a more financially feasible option first.

    Primer recommendation?

My skin has been doing weird things lately. Dryness (even with moisturizing religiously), flaking, with foundation separating from my face?? I'm thinking primer might help, but no idea which to try. I'd prefer a less expensive one, but I have to buy more high end foundation so I might have to go with a higher end primer as well... halp please
  18. I've been using Dior foundations for about seven years. I love that they last all day, but the ones that have worked for me coverage and color wise are so matte and I feel like my skin looks so dull. So...I'm looking for something new. I need pretty good coverage and I would like staying power, but something more illuminating. Obviously, I've been paying for Dior, so anything not higher than that price range is okay with me (it is $48 a bottle--but I don 't have to use much). I read good and bad reviews of Nars All Day Luminous foundations, so I would also like anyone's personal review of that, if there is anyone here who has used it .

    Best BB/CC Cream

I need a new BB/CC cream. Price isn't really a factor. I have pale skin that tends to look red and pink, and I have huge pores. What's the absolute best there is?
  20. I wondered if anyone had any ideas for a deodorant that won't make me itchy and red. I used to like Almay, but it seems to have been discontinued. Secret is ok sometimes. Tom's is supposed to be natural, but gives me a rash like everything else. I can buy one without any fragrance, that helps, but any other ideas?

    tarte

anyone else use tarte? it's the only one that doesn't make me break out

    Best Eye Cream?

Any price range, so long as it is effective. I'd prefer one with SPF but that doesn't "pill."

    Cruelty-free products

I've been doing research lately for cruelty-free makeup items, & I've come across quite a few brands. As I'm not much of a fan of buying cosmetics online (I'd rather try them in person first), what I found in WallyWorld was a brand called ELF ("eyes/lips/face"). I don't normally use a lot of makeup (generally just concealer/face powder), so I was willing to give ELF a try. So far, it's been working quite well. My sister asked how the pricing was (as compared to my previous brand, Cover Girl), & for the items I use the pricing is just about the same. Has anyone else tried a cruelty-free brand? What were your results/thoughts?

    Pixi Beauty Fans?

So I finally tried the cult favorite, Glow Tonic, and oh my sweet lord, I will NEVER go back. I was using Proactiv but I've been noticing how red and dry and sensitive it's making me. So I kinda wanna try the Glow mud mask and the rose oil. Anybody use those? My second choice in line is Mario Badescu stuff.
