Now that the Democrats have the majority in the House of Representatives, I think it would be fair to give the House its own thread. In it, we can post about all the many important investigations the House Committees will be holding in the coming months, and any other important news, like this: I'd like to know who those seven Repugliklans were.

Although the 2018 elections are still a little over 6 months away, I thought a separate thread would be helpful to post all things related to them. There is still much to be done about Election Security in all 50 states. The article in this tweet is quite long, but very informative. I really don't understand why there isn't a sense of urgency about electoral security in every single state. The above results are simply unacceptable for a country that calls itself a democracy.

Because of a loophole, some cheaters are using money from campaign accounts (which is never supposed to be used for personal needs, only campaign expenses) to pay for vague "travel expenses" or "office supplies" years after they retire. The investigative reporters even found cases of money being used after the member of Congress has died. Way to "drain the swamp" guys.
George Takei and his partner Brad bought land and George will be running for congress. Given his strong views on race relations (the Japanese internment especially) and LGBTQ, I think he would add a really interesting perspective. Are there any LGBTQ representatives? Nunes was a member of the Trump transition team and part of the wiretapping fiasco- a smart seat to target, potentially... Takei to challenge nunes
