choralcrusader8613 posted a topic in Derrick and Jill (Duggar) Dillard ArchiveLast thread here: Thanks to the ever-popular thread drift for the title! Jill and Derick are still grifting, they think that a Muslim family needs to try "American food" (Rufus, preserve us all from Duggar haute cuisine), and generally act like dinguses. Carry on!
Last thread here: Title is an homage to the idea that Jill and Derick felt the need to teach grown people in Central America how to make piñatas. Why. We also discussed Jill's writing style, Derick's short hair, and birth control. We're still waiting on the Dillards' return to Arkansas. Will they get a clue about actually useful skills for mission work in the meantime? Probably not.
choralcrusader8613 posted a topic in Derrick and Jill (Duggar) Dillard ArchiveLast thread here: Title taken from a comment on Jill's instagram: As far as we know, the Dillards are still mission-cationing in CA, despite the fact that Jill is pregnant and might have another difficult labor on her hands, plus the risk of Zika. She's also praying for protection from bacteria and insects in Central America, and Derick is still doing his once-a-week preaching to the Catholics, instead of getting a job in the States he's actually trained to do. Meanwhile, we're all asking, "And they want $24,000 for a few months of this?!"
Previous thread here: While Derick and Jill are awaiting the arrival of their second son, they haven't lost any time in picking their grifting ways missionary work back up. They want 24,000 dollars (yes, you read that right, and that's as many zeros as you're thinking) for a four-month trip to Central America. What are they actually using it for besides their own needs? Who knows? Let's stay tuned to find out!
choralcrusader8613 posted a topic in Derrick and Jill (Duggar) Dillard ArchiveLast thread here: Derick and Jill have been back in the states from Scurry Central America for a while. Jill and Derick are expecting a new baby, and in the meantime, Derick is tweeting verses from Proverbs and referencing man-eaters (which we all certainly did not need). Derick was also seen gagging/puking in the newest Counting On trailer while running. Derick's mom Cathy also tweeted that she wanted an end to abortion for her birthday. Kinda tall order if you ask me... Let's see what the Dillards get up to next!
Sorry, I accidentally posted this in the wrong thread ...and was going to post it in Baby Dilly, but then decided that maybe I'd just make it a stand-alone instead since the Baby Dilly thread is already over 40 pages long. Does anyone know if Derrick's mom believes in birth control? She only has the two boys, right? So they must've used something I would wager. I wonder if she will try to talk Derrick and Jill into waiting to have more after Jill had such a difficult delivery. Of course Jill is so brainwashed by her parents, and clearly thinks birth control is bad because they say so, I'm not sure she'd listen...and it seems like Derrick goes along with whatever Jill and the Duggars want. Still...maybe if her Dr advises them to wait, and Derrick is worried about Jill's health and well=being, plus is enjoying Israel and not in a big hurry to add another newborn, maybe he'll try to convince her that birth control is not evil. What do you think? I really don't see Derrick's Mom being supportive of baby after baby which her son has to provide for financially while Jill stays home being continually pregnant. She seems like the kind of Mom that enjoyed her boys and had them in activities and sports and so on (like normal people), and her relationship with them seems strong. I hope she counsels Jill to re-think the birth control issue. Or maybe his Mom would be scared to even go there because of the very public views the Duggars have on birth control and not using it at all.
Derricks latest tweet. God healed his mother. No mention of the doctors who no doubt worked tirelessly to provide life saving medical treatment. I'm almost tempted to ask him why they bothered with radiation if God was going to heal her all along
and then in the comments she plugs #19kids and says find out on 2/17. I wonder what's up? I can't imagine that he got engaged to his gf because why would they plug that as the season opener. http://duggars.tumblr.com/image/108837558573
Just happened to be on the Duggar blog site and saw the section "Dillard family". When I clicked on it, there was a little blurb about their Thanksgiving and Cathy's health. Nice photo too, I thought. Jill does not look Fundie dressed to me at all here. A lot of young women would be dressed like that. I even see some leg and knee. LOL. Maybe Derick's family is having some influence on her? http://www.duggarfamilyblog.com/2014/11 ... pdate.html
I just saw on the Duggar blog, that Derick's dad died in his sleep while Derick was in college. I guess I didn't realize that was what happened. Do we know the cause of death? Has that ever been stated? With his mom, no suffering from Cancer, I guess my heart really goes out to Derick. While I think he has totally dipped himself into the Duggar Koolaid, I guess given that he lost a father, and his mom has an uncertain future, maybe the idea of this big "happy" family fills a need in him. His loss may have also impacted his views on religion as well. I hope that Derick is wise enough to plan his money well since perhaps the Dillard side of the family has health issues.
On last nights "All about Jill" episode we FINALLY got to see more of Derick's family including his mom Cathy and his brother Dan. Several pictures were posted of Derick and his family through the years and they spoke about his late father in a sweet, nostalgic way. Something Cathy said really struck a chord with me when they were asking her about her boys courting/dating. Here's what she said: "We never did call it courtship, but I would talk to them every so often about, you know as their friends began dating, and I would point out to them, you know how it could be a painful process, not to mention expensive and time consuming when you're going from one girl to the next. Wouldn't it make sense to wait until you're at a position to really get serious in a relationship and then maybe get married and then put the time into it?" I think the last part is a little odd but what she is saying overall is leaps and bounds superior to Jim Bob and Michelle's take on dating. With the Duggars everything is Sin! Desires! Regrets! Purity! and Cathy is basically saying "you have your whole life ahead of you and don't need to waste time and money on girls". I love this and hope to raise my 3 sons this way without telling them they'll burn in hell for even kissing a girl. The Duggar children are scared into courting and following the courting rules based on manipulation and fear IMO. I hope Cathy spends A LOT of time with Jill and this new baby boy. She is a breath of fresh air.
From duggar family blog: The Dillards have already received two car seats that strap to a suitcase from Derick's mom, in case Jill is pregnant with twins. Every time Michelle announced that she was pregnant she always talked about the possibility of having twins. I get it, she has two sets of twins, but she has 15 singletons! Why are they always expecting it to be twins!! Most people are shocked when they have twins, I think the Duggars are actually disappointed when there is only one baby. Side note, why does a car seat strap to a suitcase? It seems Jill has taken a picture every day of her pregnancy, I think she is stuffing her stomach. I have never met a woman who showed in her first trimester. Most women don't tell anyone they're pregnant till 13 weeks and still don't have a pouchy tummy. I started wearing maternity clothes at 18 weeks and was teased because I did not need to be in them. In last weeks episode all Michelle talked about was "lots and lots" of grand babies and wanting them to live close by. They are all truly mentally disturbed. Everything is babies, babies, babies. It's great that these babies are wanted, but this obsession is beyond ridiculous. I have known women who have had post baby infertility. I can only imagine what how mentally damaging that would be to any of these girls.
I just read in People online that Derick's Mom could not attend last evening rehearsal dinner because she has cancer I can feel for he and Jill; my husband's dad had passed when he was 16 and his Mom was battling cancer when we were married. I am praying for his Mom, that she can be with them today. Here's the quote from People: I want to ask everyone to pray for my mom," Dillard told PEOPLE. "Anyone who has been through [cancer] knows what it is like, and if everyone could think of her, I know she would really appreciate it." http://www.people.com/article/jill-dugg ... sal-dinner
