This happened in California Of course this former teacher's husband has chimed in about how it's "out of character" for her. Article doesn't say if she's a Branch Trumpvidian but if she was it would not surprise me.

California bans state funded travel to Kansas over LGBT discrimination concerns
clueliss posted a topic in Quiver Full of Politics
So this wandered onto my Facebook feed yesterday. It will get some attention in Kansas, but only because it is going to possibly affect the University of Kansas Basketball schedule going forward. And I may be sitting here remembering a certain travel slogan of Kansas about 8 years ago or so. Kansas - as big as you think (or something like that). Naturally, the immediate response around rather liberal Lawrence, KS was bumper stickers that read Kansas - as bigoted as you think. Needless to say that travel slogan ebbed away rather quickly. http://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/article128717554.html- 9 replies

California must've been tired of Florida getting all the attention; thesmokinggun.com/buster/assault/california-man-arrested-in-crucifix-attacks-648293 For some reason I immediately thought of the one scene in The Exorcist. Maybe he's hosting the same demon?

CA Surrogate refuses birth parents' order to abort
Geechee Girl posted a topic in Wide World of Snark
I heard this blurb about a local woman on NPR this morning. Birth parents want their 17wks pregnant surrogate to abort 1 fetus after learning the 2 eggs implanted have become triplets. Apparently, this isn't the first case of birth parents wanting their surrogate to selectively terminate. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3359941/Surrogate-mom-carrying-triplets-refuses-demands-birth-parents-abort-one-fetuses.html I find this case troubling because it seems to me these surrogates have given up some agency in these contracts. What gives the birth parents the right to make these type of demands?- 106 replies
