Donna Brazil: DNC Was Deeply in Debt and In Hoc to the Clinton Campaign
Cleopatra7 posted a topic in Quiver Full of Politics
If you had any questions that the outcome of the 2016 Democratic primaries was rigged, here’s your smoking gun, straight from Donna Brazil: https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/11/02/clinton-brazile-hacks-2016-215774 I can’t seem to quote on my phone, but the whole thing is quotable. It illustrates how dysfunctional the Democratic Party has been, and the rot didn’t just start in 2015 or 2016. Those of us who want real change need to look outside of the electoral system and the dead ends of both parties.- 12 replies

Bernie Sanders went on Morning Joe today and the following exchange occurred: Bernie Sander is really pissing me off right now. First of all, why is he trying to speak for Democrats when he's already let us know he doesn't consider himself one (except, of course, when he wants to run as one to get access to Democratic money and donor lists.) And secondly, being pro-choice and pro-gun control is a fundamental part of the party platform. Why the fuck would we want a candidate that doesn't believe women have a right to make their own medical decisions and who doesn't value public safety. If we wanted a candidate like that, we would vote for the Republican candidate. Damn it, this man pisses me off.

So here we are almost May and I haven't cast a vote yet. My state does not vote until June 7, but I already requested my (absentee) ballot. It should arrive this week. Background-- I'm a lifelong Democrat and a campaign staffer who will most likely be gone by primary day (hence the absentee ballot). I long thought the race would wrap up by the time it came here, but it looks like my vote may count afterall. Even though I work in politics, I don't get as excited about presidential races as most do. I prefer the action down the ticket (Congressional, statewide, state legislatures, etc). I can make the case for both Hillary and Bernie. However, I can make an equal case against both of them too. Ultimately, my main goal is to have a nominee that will stop a President Trump or President Cruz. (I had a hard time in 08 too as my first choice, John Edwards, dropped out before my state voted). This time my first choice (NY governor Andrew Cuomo) didn't get in the race (and I knew he wouldn't as he's a good friend of the Clintons and he would not run against her). (I'm sure he endorsed her but I'm not positive). So any Hillary or Bernie fans--- make your case to me. Do I play my woman card or feel the Bern?

This guy is a Liberty University graduate and a Christian therapist. He saw Bernie's speech at LU, and he's now convinced that the Christian thing to do is to support Bernie. Here's an audio of his sermon about it, it's pretty interesting: https://clyp.it/eusxalwe His argument is more emotional than incisively logical (to be expected with this crowd, I guess) but if it gets a segment of conservative Christians to support Bernie, I'll take it. Next, I'd like to hear these guys do a sermon on why conservative Christians should support environmental causes, based on the "not shitting all over the gift God gave you" argument.
