ALERT Helping with TX clean Up

So a friend of mine in TX has been helping with tornado clean up. Part of her "team" are a bunch of ALERT Cadets. She shared this video, do we "know" any of them? https://www.facebook.com/GlitznGrits/videos/1046829502026259/
  2. Pickles has posted that Jeremiah is at Alert. I'm on my phone so I'm having trouble linking/verifying. She seems to think that Jed is not at Alert.
  3. Since this crosses Quivers I figured I put it here. So we know that the older Bateseses girls went to JTTH and that the oldest Duggar girls did as well. Also Pris went and I think Suze Waller. Did Anna go? I think I saw mentioned that Ashley Sayler went. And I think we've seen pictures of at least one Paine girl there. I'm wondering about the next group of kids. Has Joy Anna gone? Will the young girls go? In 10 years will there be a pick of the lost girls with Callie and Addallee at JTTH? On a related note, we've seen one Duggar boy after another go off to Alert. Have any of the Bateseses boys gone? What about TFDW? Or Brandon Keilen?
  4. Josiah spent a good part of 2014 und maybe 2013 in ALERT camp. And on the show we hardly ever see or hear anything from him. The last time we really saw him on the show was the episode about his graduation which was filmed in summer 2013 (is that right?) I think that either the Duggars are keeping him out of the spotlight on purpose to fix him from whatever they think is wrong with him (poor Josiah), OR he is quietly but steadily distancing himself from his family . Josiah might be the first of the family to distance himself a little bit, quietly but knowing full well why and how.

    Reprogramming camps for the kids?

So I'm sorry if its been discussed..... but I've seen things here am there through the years that a few of the Duggar kids have been sent to reprogramming camps.... can anyone elaborate? Who had to go, when and why? What camps were they? I think I heard 2 girls and a boy have gone througj the years.... any info? I'd love to read more.... I've read about these programming camps being downright abusive, either mentally or physically and often both! Thanks for any info

Abusive Army Major with ALERT cadets

The abusive Army Major was on an ALERT campout http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2013/0 ... _wide.html
  8. According to the coment section on the Dr.Oz post on duggarsblog, Joseph has been at ALERT for two months which explains his absence.
  9. I can't get too into detail about all the details of how this came about, but my husband had to go to ALERT Academy today. He found out the Duggars are due to show up for "an annual ATI meeting" on Tuesday, but just because they are signed up doesn't guarantee that they will show up. Would this be the week long camp thing they do in Big Sandy? Me and the husband were also invited to sign up, which obviously won't be happening....

    ALERT training video

Kendalyn Staddon has a promotional video from ALERT on her blog. She worked there as a cook, instead of studying medicine as she had wanted. Amazing how her father's conversaton with the Lord saved him so much money... Not sure if any of the FJers have experiences with ALERT. Do any/some of them go on to join the Military or are they totally anti-military?

    ALERT Academy

While perusing the website of David Waller's parents I followed a link to IBLP and then to Alert Academy (as you do). It strikes me as nothing more than trying to set up a private army amongst other things. I downloaded the brochures (as you do) and this bit made me wonder. As part of the application process you need: Why a family photo? Will they be checking hair and skirt leg nth of the ladies? Must the recruit come from a photogenic family? Umm, OK, but earlier on it says that ALERT does not discriminate on the grounds of nationality - but whatever, I'll let that one pass. So the next part which got me wondering was this: OK, I suppose that the authority probably means something like an influential pastor, or maybe even Dougie, whenever the shit hits the fan somewhere. But elsewhere on the website I read something that gave the impression that ALERT would go in when asked by local authorities in times of disaster. Local authorities to me means local, or even national, government organisations. Forgive me for being sceptical, but I seriously doubt than any government in the developed world is going to want ALERT recruits. They will use civil defence and armed forces if need be. Which leads me to the conclusion that ALERT is nothing more than a private military/civil defence organisation which will come out if you request them, at a price. Which brings me to my final point; how much does it cost? I seriously doubt that if your area faces a major disaster your first thought will be to call a private militia (ALERT or Bradrick.org). First off, shit hits the fan and we call either 999 or 911. It's free, they come out, they provide help, we pay through out taxes. Are we really led to believe that ALERT will come for free? Bullshit. Are we to believe that local, or even national authorities will call ALERT? Bullshit. So what is the point of ALERT? They have videos and pictures of them helping in Joplin, fair enough. But how long did it take for them to get there? I am sure they were not first responders. Once the immediate emergency has passed they are helping with the clean up, with the rebuild. Fair enough. But to promote them as military/civil defence is wrong. They are not. Thoughts?
