I'm starting a thread so that you find citizens of Free Jinger can enjoy the wild claims of BB19 house guest Raven's claims this year. She has gastroparesis and as a result, has a stomach pacemaker. However, her outlandish claims just keep coming. Some of this may actually be legitimate but the legitimate claims get lost in the crazy. She was apparently homeschooled (in Arkansas) and has stated that her GPA was Dance. Her marathon time was 7th place (for women in her age group but what she described was likely a 5k or 10k charity walk/run. See number 10 - can't eat red meat - but can

Newish TLC show. This is about couples where the husband has decided to Transition. Maybe this should go in unpopular opinions, but these husbands are just as entitled and dismissive of their wives as any fundamentalist husband. Of course, it’s TLC, so awful people are the norm.

I'm not sure what to make of this show. I'm mostly dumbfounded. Anyone else watch this?

Is anyone else watching this gem? I am endlessly fascinated. I'm anxiously awaiting Friday night (or more accurately, Saturday morning, when the episode shows up on my Google Play account :P) WeTV page (with clips and episodes!)

Is anyone else watching this on Oxygen? I must say I'm not terribly impressed. The woman who is doing it is pretty dismissive that Maura could have been suicidal, misstated some of James Renner's thoughts (Ie, he DID NOT state that Maura was sexually abused by her dad), and is also dismissive that Maura seemed to be fairly troubled young women. Tonight was the last straw though. They hired a motherfucking psychic to help out! Are you kidding me? I can understand the parent of a missing child hiring a psychic, but not someone who wants to be a responsible investigative journalist. Wh

Once again another Friday is upon us, and so is that insipid television show What Would You Do? I really can't stand that show. Am I the only one who doesn't like that show? If I found myself in the middle of one of their dumbass setups the only way I'm giving permission for it to be aired on TV is if ABC writes me a check with lots and lots of zeros on it. Otherwise they could pound sand as far as I'm concerned.

What does everyone think about Married at First Sight? I kinda find it strange. Especially after seeing the second season I would never do it. That season scared me.

I saw this was trending on facebook this morning: It's a pretty bizarre watch, for sure. I just wanted to hear all your thoughts. It's pretty obvious to me this young lady has some mental health issues, but I thought it was a pretty interesting story nonetheless.

I just discovered this over the weekend; has anyone else seen it? It's about a family in Alaska - dad, mom, and I think there are seven kids, five boys and two girls. Their story is they had built a homestead in Southern Alaska and the government burned it all to the ground because they'd built it on public land. So they bought five acres of land in Northern Alaska, loaded everyone and everything in a van with a small trailer behind it and headed North. They get there with only a couple of weeks to build a home before deep winter sets in. Dad appears to be lazy. He likes telling ev

Garguiles and Psychics -- The God Warrior (Trading Spouses 2005)
EyeQueue posted a blog entry in The Random Eye
The infamous Marguerite Perrin episode of Trading Spouses was mentioned in the "Your tv low point" thread. It had been a long time since I had thought of this vat of crazy pants, so I re-watched parts of the video, and read a few blogs about it. One of the more hilarious things I saw tonight in relation to the self-professed God Warrior was this: Anyone who played the old Street Fighter II should get this reference.-

This article reminded me of some of our fundie families who have reality shows: https://broadly.vice.com/en_us/article/the-american-nightmare-i-worked-in-reality-tv-and-almost-lost-my-soul?utm_source=broadlyfbus It is crazy how damaging these shows are. I don't think kids should be allowed to do them.

But TLC will remain a "gleefully lowbrow channel" https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/life-after-honey-boo-boo-inside-discoverys-fight-to-grow-up/2016/01/01/df53888c-99cd-11e5-94f0-9eeaff906ef3_story.html ETA: Should this be moved to the "Quiverfull of Snark(or Duggars)"?

So I am pretty excited to hear a new show featuring polygamy is in the works. Kristyn Decker mentioned the new show during her radio show, "Polygamy Uncensored''. Sister Wives Blog (sisterwivesblog.blogspot.com) has posted a link to a new show call "Polygamy USA." It begins May 7th. According to National Geographic: (channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/polygamy-usa/videos/building-a-kingdom/) I know I will be DVRing this series. (Also, I was watching HBO's VICE over the weekend and they were "teasing" next weeks episode. It is about the Lost Boys. But I cannot find a link to the preview.) {fixed wording}

Holy snakes! This series is fascinating. On the episode i started on, Cody, the young preacher with a wife and toddler, lies to his wife that they come before his snake handling. Lovely. Then he goes off on a snake hunt and gets bitten twice by a cottonmouth and refuses to seek medical help. ( of course he made it through, or it might not have made it on TV...) I am interested to see more of this show. Personally, I think these folks are whackadoodles, but I feel that way about most fundamentalists.

And it has nothing to do with their religion, or their culture. I liked Shadia up until tonight, but can't believe that she married Jeff knowing she was highly allergic to dogs, then waited until after they were married and moving to a new house to insist he have to get rid of Rigley. I'm sorry....but that is just low. The only time I'd give up an animal for anyone would be if my child were deathly allergic and meds didn't work, but would never do that for a boyfriend or spouse. Then again, I wouldn't have dated anyone past the "I'm allergic" or "I'm not rea

Sorry if this was mulled over in an earlier thread, but I was wondering if anyone else caught the shot of Jinger looking like she had been flirting with a guy at the Crocs shop in Israel (at about 14:05): It kind of surprised me that TLC would throw that little clip in there, especially after Boob was all "Me go into protective Daddy mode" at the beach when that guy was talking to Jana/Jessa.

She is getting free maid service free childcare and a way to a job. But she has always been given things and she just uses them and never improves. I want the Duggars to stay on TV, and here's why.....
Brightonbelle posted a topic in Quiver Full of Duggars
I usually lurk here so you won't know me but this has been stewing in my mind for a while. I want the Duggars to stay on TV, because what would happen if they were to drop out of the public eye really, really worries me. Think about it - the show stops, the family become more heavily involved in church because a) they need the help, and they have more time on their hands, and they realise that their children have become far too worldly for the fundie circles. I can imagine a future of much reprogramming for the older children/adults, and lots of Pearl-esque correction for the howl- 20 replies
