  1. So, according to one Dave Kabal , president of some ridiculous organization I've never heard of Intercessors for America Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is affiliated with “a coven of witches that cast spells on President Trump 24 hours a day, seven days a week.” This is hardly the first time that panicky Christians, terrified of an intelligent and attractive young woman, cried "Witchcraft!!!!" but, geeze, you'd think they'd have outgrown that shit by now. Not surprisingly, George Soros is involved with this coven. As is Judge Kimba Wood, of the Southern District of New York, and Nancy Pelosi. https://www.patheos.com/blogs/progressivesecularhumanist/2019/02/conservative-christians-claim-ocasio-cortez-is-a-witch-leading-attack-against-trump/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=share_bar&fbclid=IwAR1n6ELKXY37VB3d6zkxpo24TSTfQSUpGGOhYX4ZvnL0A1jhNhV7gvp0UcU#FXbJcRDWh2qeFCBj.01 http://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/dave-kubal-prays-against-the-witches-and-diabolical-power-operating-in-alexandria-ocasio-cortezs-district/

    Branch Trumpvidians

    We call them the Branch Trumpvidians. Our posts about them are mostly scathing, scorching and sarcastic. We tend to look down upon them as ignorant fools and backwards idiots, who are crybabies when they find out that the presidunce isn't giving them what he promised. I am interested in these people mostly because the anthropological side of this all fascinates me. In essence the sociological and psychological influences surrounding their decisions. Why did they vote for the Tangerine Toddler? Who are these people, why do they back him? Are they really all idiots and fools? Today, I found an article about this very subject, that I found quite enlightening. Maybe it will soften your views on them, maybe not. You're human after all... “I just choose to not listen”: why Trump supporters are tuning out the scandals I believe @GreyhoundFan posted that very article by AP (although I'm not sure, it could have been someone else). There are some illuminating test results illustrating this in the article itself. Are there idiots and fools among the Trumpvidians? Oh, yes, I believe there really are. But I'm also convinced that there are quite a few of them who are quite smart and intelligent, but have 'motivated ignorance'. I, for one, will look with new eyes at those 'repentant Trumpvidians' that I have disparaged in the past. Because if they truly have changed their political views, it means that they are going against their own group. And that is an almighty hard thing to do...

  7. Didn't see a march-specific thread in Politics on this, and the action thread is a little old. Please merge if necessary, and thanks! 8. Just saw this Here's the post in question; I don't blame that guy at all for making UPS come and fix their mistake. With all the branch trumpvidians running around these days I wouldn't want to approach their homes either.

  11. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-43534724 Well I found this pretty disturbing. It really feels like Americans are close to living in a theocracy.
  12. Discussion at my house this week, there are lots of articles on the amount of turnover in the Trump white-house--and I think it's universally agreed, even among BranchTrumpvidians, that it's Goshdarnredonkifuckingdickulous. But, is there a baseline of what 'normal' turnover is to compare it to? Because apparently we're not good enough at political googling to find what, say, Bush, CLinton, Obama's, etc were in their first year or 2. I figured if anyone knew, someone on FJ might
  13. Yep, the only job requirements the Orange Fart Cloud cares about is how much the nominee kisses ass and how hard reich the nominee is, and not about legal knowledge. Here's the original tweet;

    Lady Lydia designing clothes for Trumps

    Trump-loving Lydia of homeliving.blogspot.com has done some quick sketches of outfits she thinks would be nice for the women of the first family and also the veep's family to wear for the inauguration. She has requested submissions from her readers. For anyone who wants to submit their ideas, I offer here, as a kind of a template, some pictures of the next FLOTUS that you can add clothes to. On second thought, no. We are all sufficiently tech-savvy that we can download our own photos.
  17. So, this is a fun cross post and I wanted it to have it's own space. Who is leaving or bring forced out first? We are somehow only 3 weeks into this $hitshow and I'm wondering who cracks first? Spicer is my bet. He's taken a lot of heat and he has to be regularly in the hot seat with the press core. But will it be Flynn? He's getting random middle of the night phone calls from the president that have nothing to do with his job and now he's getting some heat for possibly talking shop with Putin prior to the election. Then there's Conway, she's been part of this shit fest the longest and gets a lot of heat too. She seems to be holding up remarkably well, but then again she's still a Donald favorite. Hmmmm.. Any other thoughts or bets??? He hasn't even filled all his positions yet so it could even be someone who hasn't been appointed or confirmed yet. How long until the rats start fleeing the ship or fall from Trumpian Grace and get booted. His campaign saw a ridiculous turnover, why not his White House Staff?
  18. Trying my hand at starting a thread. Let's compile a list of those who were formerly considered respectable but have sacrificed their respectability on the Trump altar. (Yes, I know "respectable" may be debatable, but...) Sadly, I think these people may never regain their former respectability post-Trump (whenever that might happen). Starting with: Sean Spicer. I know it seems like he never was, but I have heard a large number of reporters say that Spicer had a very good reputation among reporters and commentators before he was hired by Trump. Looking forward to seeing who else might fit this list.

  21. For those unfamiliar with this topic, last month there was a petition to stop Trump coming to the UK on a State Visit. The petition garnered the required number of signatures and it was debated in parliament yesterday. The transcript of the discussion is now available to read: https://hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2017-02-20/debates/34847E5C-8B14-46E6-8251-AE99526CC011/PresidentTrumpStateVisit its quite long and there's a bit of formal-speak in there, but an interesting read. I don't know if there's been a definitive answer yet, but I'll keep you posted.
