O.k., I probably need to get a life, but ever since Sarah posted on her blog about Jon D. visiting for the weekend, I can't get it out of my head that there is a courtship between he and Sarah, either currently or in the near future. A few things hit me from her post (this is all speculation, I know, but indulge me); She mentioned Jon and his visit in a very low key, off hand way. Usually when the Maxwells see old friends they post a bunch of pictures of the friends joining them for dinner, bible time, elderly time, etc. In this case just a few pictures in the middle of a post, and not even any of his face. It's almost as if she thought "If I appear too excited about this, Daddy will take it away.". And we all know he would! He had business in a "nearby state" but flew into Kansas City to spend the weekend with the Maxwells. As a small business owner, I imagine his getting away for any extra time, even a weekend, is a bit of an indulgence. I imagine the Maxwells would have understood if he just took care of business and skipped a weekend with them. But he didn't. Was it really just a friendly visit? Or did he also have "business" with Steve?? Sarah ends her post with a picture of herself, something she hardly ever does. And that ain't no frumper she's wearing. I actually like the sweater she is wearing and the 3 quarter sleeves. The fabric her skirt is made of is pretty too. Does she have reason to believe Jon is reading their blog back in Idaho (or is it Iowa?) and wants to look nice for him? Like I said, this is all speculation, but I keep wondering if we are going to get a courtship announcement shortly. Jon may not be drop dead gorgeous, but he seems like a pretty good catch for a fundy young lady. Owns his own business (and it's not an "and son" business either, so maybe he is more his own man than the Maxwell sons.), so even if he is a little younger than Sarah, he has some maturity. I know he lives a long way from the Maxwells, but if Steve doesn't let Sarah go sooner or later he's going to have two severely depressed women on his hands. Oh and didn't someone here say his family has their own nursing home ministry? So Sarah doesn't have to give up The Elderly! Anyway, I'll be curious in the next few weeks/months to see if my feeling is correct.
Justme posted a topic in MaxhellI've seen many people post they are doubtful Sarah will ever get married. Anna is only 18 and Mary 15. Do you think in 10 years they will be married? Sarah will be nearly 40, but they'll be 28 and 25. Steve will be 70. He's got Sarah. I sure hope he "softens" and lets the other girls marry. I think the reversal boys will probably marry when houses in their neighborhood go up for sale. Perhaps Grandma & Grandpa will move into the homestead leaving their house "available".
OK, I seem to have it in for them tonight. This is what they did back in 2006, all in aid of drawing an illustration for one of Sarah's yawnsome books...... http://www.titus2.com/blog/index.php/20 ... or-spring/ Behind-the-scenes look at a photo session for Spring…. Today, a neighbor’s cat is acquired (with permission ), so our Golden Retriever, Honey, can tree it so we can photograph the scene for our artist to sketch an illustration for Spring with the Moodys…. Cat is encouraged to run up the tree. (As a side note, we put the cat near the tree and THEN let Honey out. Of course, the cat ran up the tree, as Honey excitedly ran toward the tree!) Honey is encouraged to jump up and look at the cat. Hmmm… Cat climbed higher than we wanted! If you notice, the cat is way up in the fork of the tree. They deliberately scared a cat to run up a tree because their illustrator lacked the imagination to draw somthing from her imagination. WTF? I hope the Moody's don't need diagrams war or famine (or dying OAP home residents ) for the Winter Days project....
Justme posted a topic in MaxhellThe whole family is helping out this time. I must say, even with all this "healthy" eating, some of the Maxwell men are looking a little "paunchy" around the midsection.
The Maxwell has a new post up which was kind of exist, even amongst fundie families. It fails to even acknowledge the women who fought and died for this country. Even among many conservatives, there is acknowledgement that women have been killed in the line of duty. Sarah Maxwell was the poster. I'm not sure if this indicative of the state of her (un)awareness of the world, or perhaps the state of her (outdated) education. However, her father and her grandfather (as they like to point out) was in the military, so you'd think they'd be aware that females are joining the military and making sacrifices for their country, some offering up their lives in the name of duty. I guess even that bit of female achievement would be too much to acknowledge from the Maxwells, huh?
