  1. lorialexander.blogspot.com/2014/09/without-men-we-would-all-be-vegetarians.html I'm not even sure anymore if she's for real. Women all get too emotionally attached to animals to slaughter them for food, and men are the ones who are capable of keeping enough of a distance to kill a chicken. So without men, we'd be nonexistent, excuse me, vegetarian, and I guess lesbian or something. I don't even know. Somehow this leads to "blurring of the lines" and "homosexuality is becoming more common" (and is more proof Lori knows exactly nothing about history). And women are becomi

    Homosexuality and the Bible

First time I've ever heard of her but I may start following. This message is quite refreshing, especially coming from a minister. http://rachelheldevans.com/blog/literalist-gluttony
  3. Tonight, Bridegroom is premiering on OWN. It tells the story of Shane Bitney Crone who was banned from the funeral of his partner Tom Bridegroom by Tom's family. The documentary is going to focus on gay rights, domestic partnerships, and gay marriage. It will be premiering at 10 pm eastern time. I believe it will be released on Netflix today too.
  4. I know they disagree with the newest policies and I guess they feel they are right but if I was in their shoes I would try to kill them with kindness and show a true Christian acceptance rather than kick them to the curb. My nephew is a member of a church (Congregational) sponsored troop that is fully endowed by the church, he also has a lesbian troop leader. I think it is a great balance for him and I am happy to see the scouts headed in the correct direction but I believe they have a ways to go to complete the trip. 5. So apparantly it is okay to make a cake for a Wiccan coven, but for a gay marriage it is against your Christian principals. http://wildhunt.org/2013/06/quick-notes ... ition.html Link not broken because it is a news site (though made for Pagans)
  6. Dozens of mormons are planning a mass resignation from the church tomorrow. The reason why they are doing it comes from the church's political activism against gay marriage, teachings that conflict with science or are perceived to be racist or sexist, and inconsistencies of explaining their own history especially when it comes to polygamy. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/2 ... 37877.html

    A couple of Mormon things...

Apostle Boyd K Packer on the truth: http://i.imgur.com/SgZkP.jpg Blogger Josh Weed comes out on his 10th wedding anniversay: http://www.joshweed.com/2012/06/club-un ... ut-of.html It's a very interesting read. This has the potential to be very, very bad for gay Mormons.
  8. Yet another tragic outcome of never being allowed to explore anything but the most rigid gender and sex roles: http://jezebel.com/5905780/what-happens ... es-a-woman
  9. No word yet on whether or not water is still wet, but I can only assume that's the next area of study. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/02/2 ... 91153.html (Is it necessary to disclaim every time you don't break a link that this is because the siteowners won't care?) I can only hope that in a family with enough kids, the ones that don't fit in will be ignored and overlooked and relatively safe.
  10. http://www.cnn.com/video/?hpt=hp_t3#/vi ... andson.cnn It makes me feel all warm and gushy inside when people are finally able to live their true lives.
  11. I found this site thanks to snarkbilly posting on another thread and found this interesting tidbit. I may be reading it wrong but it sounds like these two women were accepted in their communty which is very cool considering all things like time period and not one man/twenty women marriage. http://mormonhair.tumblr.com/post/14515 ... -least-one
  12. I was trying to confirm what I've heard about Gothard being obsessed with "sodomites" (apparently he especially liked to discuss men's grooming and talk about which styles were those of sodomites), and I found this book: http://www.amazon.com/All-American-Boy- ... 0025953621 Has anyone here read it? It's by Scott Peck, a gay man the son of Colonel Fred Peck, who famously said in 1993 that he loved his gay son but he had no place in the military. (Here's an old article about it: http://www.nytimes.com/1993/05/17/us/su ... all&src=pm ). He apparently was involved with Gothard. He

  14. I find this blog almost unbelievably sad. The author has never, ever, felt any attraction towards a woman, yet he is determined to marry one. This poor guy could have a family, a partner he can love and connect with, kids, all of the things he wants, but he won't let himself because he thinks it's a sin. gaymormonguy.blogspot.com/ I personally think it would be wildly unfair for someone who has this level of same sex attraction to marry someone of the opposite sex. As a bit of funny in a sad situation, I don't think I'm
  15. http://www.newsobserver.com/2011/11/21/ ... d-for.html i was quite surprised to see this, but a baptist church in north carolina has said that until there is marriage equality, they will not perform any marriages. i gotta say, i was quite proud of them when i read this. *edited* to add: now, they will perform ceremonies, but the pastor refuses to sign any marriage certificate.
