    The Duggar Family Website

Has anyone been on the Duggar Family website lately? It seems so... different. The recipes are hardly listed and they finally took down their home address. Was all this changed after the scandal with Josh or did they just really do a major update?

Omg, they nailed the baby voice!

Okay, so BriaAndChrissy are a lesbian couple who make youtube videos. Michelle Duggar made it into their "most homophobic celebrities" video: Starts at about 0:25 And Bria has totally got Michelle's creepy voice down. And the eyes.

    New DHS Probe

I haven't been on Radar much these past few days, so I just went on to see what, if anything, I had missed. I found this article about a NEW investigation by DHS: http://radaronline.com/celebrity-news/d ... te-agency/ This incident where they needed to check on the minor but faced resistance and needed police assistance happened on May 27th.
  4. I LOVE the history of the Titanic and I was looking at the dinner menus tonight and I got to talking to my husband. What would the Duggars be like if on the Titanic? Of course he said demanding, however I said we have to consider what place and time would we place the Duggars. With 14 kids and no money from TLC or today with grand kids. We also know the fate of the Titanic. So I guess just for a fun thread. What would the Duggars be like on the Titanic? Before and after the hit of the iceberg For fun I thought it should still be 1912 and TLC could be something besides TV that the Duggars would pimp their kids out. Also, big families were not that uncommon. So it might be best to say the Titanic if it sailed in 2015. Whatever your imagination comes up with
  5. They go barefoot every where regardless of propriety-Joy was taking off her shoes at a wedding, Jill did not even wear them at her own wedding and they did not even wear shoes in a public hospital. When they do wear shoes nine times out of ten they are flimsy flip flops even for climbing FFS.I can't be the only one who notices a trend here.
  6. what would you give as a wedding gift? I mean as a real guest/friend of the family. In some areas it is customary to give a gift that would cover the cost of the guests' food at the reception, plus more so that the couple 'makes a bit of profit'. (Or is this just a New York area thing?) Anyway, what would you give as a gift?

    The crew

I wonder what the crew is thinking. I doubt they all knew, and might be all of them didn't know. I'm sure at least some of them might not have approved of what the Duggars were doing, but still felt protective of some of the littles, like some of us here. This has got to be hard for them too. Not only out of a job, but separated from kids they might have loved just from their frequent interaction.
  8. Now that Jill and Jessa are both married and supposedly have the freedom and opportunity to surf the internet without being restricted, do you think they will start looking things up like searching for stuff on themselves, or going to sites to read about stuff that they might've heard about but weren't allowed to see? Do you think, if they do, they share with each other... or with their still unmarried sisters? Do you think such internet access might raise doubts or questions about their upbringing or Gothard? I wonder if the girls even know about the scandel?! They probably didn't have access to news like that and I doubt JB and M told them. With Derick taking Jill to see a play and we know he likes secular shows like Seinfeld, etc., which I presume he'd want to share with his bride, she is going to have some of her very narrow experiences stretched a bit, and if she does... do you think she'll encourage Jessa to try some of those things? (ie: Seinfeld, or going to see a play or whatever)

    DuggarFamilyBlog.com

I think they deserve their own thread. I dont even like visiting their FB or blog because they defend Josh to the max.
  10. Apologies if this has been discussed, but I believe this deserves a new thread - it's not about the sexual abuse, it's not about Josh, it's about that little paragraph in page 29 of the Springdale police report. To paraphrase, the police asked one of the girls if anybody touches her bottom and she mentioned spanking. The interviewer started questioning her, and this girl stated that all the kids were spanked, she responded yes. When asked what they were spanked with, she said a "rod." When asked if the rod left bruises she said "no." I wish the police had followed up with this angle a little more. In any event, it's proof that they do engage on corporal punishment.
  11. They are speaking at the Rocky Mountain Super Conference on Family. They are doing a lot of speaking events lately! rockymountainsuperconference.com/register-for-conference/

    Background On The Duggars

A friend of mine has been asked to write about the Duggar family, and this current scandal. She has an angle she is going to go with that I haven't seen yet on any of the other articles, however, she knows NOTHING about the Duggars. Like, literally nothing. She asked me to help her gather some background information about the family. There is a lot of information to wade through to have this thing ready by Wednesday. If anyone could write a summary about the Duggars complete with links and sources, it would be greatly appreciated. FreeJingerites are an eloquent bunch of people, and I figure someone can put together a decent summery and/or timeline of events starting with when the Duggars first aired. Last week, I would have just told her everything myself. Today, I'm tired and don't have it in me to be awesome and smart lmao ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING ABOUT GOTHARD CAN BE INCLUDED TOO!!!! Someone please add the Duggar/Huckabee link and the photos with Gothard and/or Huckabee.

    Punk Duggars

I just discovered this awesomeness and I don't think it's been posted? instagram.com/punkduggars/ Where she edits pics and makes the Duggars cooler and then their fans come and freak out in the comments Are just a few. I am amused.
  15. Apologies to the mods in advance if this should go somewhere else. Came across this article about how the Duggars got around the already really lax background checks for reality TV. http://www.thewrap.com/inside-tlcs-19-k ... n-scandal/ Essentially, there are no standard requirement for a background check for reality shows. Network shows like Survivor and American Idol tend to do fuller checks with health screenings - but they also tend to have a bigger budget and more staffing (that stays long term). For cable reality shows, they don't really do a whole lot to check people out - it's up to the production company and network. In the case of the Duggars, since they started as a one-off special for Discovery they weren't required to do any screening - just prove that they had a bunch of kids. TLC bought out Discovery, and got access to the Duggars that way - and may have made the assumption that Discovery already vetted them. The article is solid. The Wrap is a pretty well respected internal entertainment news site that caters more towards the business end of showbusiness. They typically have good info. It does not excuse TLC or Discovery in any way, but I can see how the ball got drooped.

  17. This is something I have thought about and have seen bantered about on this board a bit. What would happen if Jim Bob died suddenly? I assume financially they would be fine, he seems to be, if nothing else, a good businessman, so i am sure the money would be ok. But, in their fundie life, the man is the headship and "keeps" the daughter's hearts. So, if JB kicked the bucket, what happens to the household, to Michelle and the kids at home? Do they just wander around? Would Michelle have to immediately remarry? Would she be the headship? One of the sons???

    Duggar House Rules

How many Duggar house rules could you follow? Long before the Duggars I try to be kind even if I dont feel well.
  19. nothing really new but it is good gothard is getting more negative news. http://radaronline.com/exclusives/2015/ ... followers/ In recent years, the Duggars have become the poster family for wholesome values. But behind the 19 Kids & Counting family's strict God-loving guidelines is a controversial and ultra-conservative foundation: the Institute of Basic Life Principles. Now, in an exclusive investigation, RadarOnline.com has uncovered testimony from former followers of the IBLP, who warn that it is a "cult" that will do the famous family's children more harm than good! Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar began homeschooling their brood in the 1990s using the Bible-based curriculum of the IBLP's Advanced Training Institute, which was founded by disgraced leader Bill Gothard. He resigned from the organization last year amid allegations of sexually harassing women at his ministry and failing to report child abuse cases. Largely because of this tarnished history, former devotees of the Duggar family way say it's hard to even watch them play out their beliefs on their show. "I have no problem calling it a cult," former follower Micah Murray told RadarOnline.com. "What the Duggars are doing is putting Gothard's philosophies on display as a positive thing and they are not positive." "From my experience, it has the hallmarks of what makes cults so damaging - abusive authority structures, the way that people's thinking and behavior is controlled, the way that people aren't taught to trust themselves and trust their leader unquestionably," continued Murray, who runs his own blog, Redemption Pictures, about his experiences inside the Institute. "I've seen a number of episodes [of 19 Kids & Counting] and it makes me very uncomfortable," he added. "I think the Duggars are probably very nice people. They're probably very sincere people. But I think that the teachings of Bill Gothard are very destructive."
  20. Are there Duggar accountability pairs all over town for people to witness? They volunteer for fire department, JD is a constable (that's elected right?) but it's not like they attend the schools so you don't have the Duggar in every grade thing. They have their own church sessions right? I was under the impression that although they may have a wedding at Cross Church, they use one of their rentals for services (tax break) Are the Duggars just this weird family that lives on the outskirts that no actual Tontitonians know except when they have to wait outside Famous Footwear because the Duggars have it shut down for filming? JBs "best friend" lives in TN and for a friend for Michelle they had to troll her high school yearbook. Where do all their church friends live? Do they have any local neighborhood friends? How often are the Duggar girls the worse ever bday clowns showing up at slumber parties to preach no kissy kissy (remember that episode? How much does it cost to have them do that?) Do any of the kids have after homeschool jobs?
  21. I couldn't find these posted. If they are admins you can delete this. I tried to put them in order. I'm sorry if it's bungled.
  22. there it is out it had to be said. i wanted to beat the idiots that say gays caused it. it has to be caused by duggers disappointing god.
  23. Relevant to the Duggar situation, here's a notorious tract from Jack Chick explaining how molestors are forgiven and cleansed through Jesus. https://scans-daily.dreamwidth.org/4530227.html Make sure you bring a bucket to vomit into.
  24. As we have witnessed several times now (such as with Autumn and Deanna Coghlan - and while it has been far messier, one could also argue that Sarah Jane has sort of followed this path too), it seems like in some cases the fundie trajectory goes like this: 1. Naive young woman courts and marries some guy she hardly knows. 2. She realizes after marrying him that marriage isn't what she had hoped for/what she was promised if she followed "God's plan". 3. She gets a divorce 4. She realizes that life as a free woman isn't so bad after all and starts to find herself. I still have some hope that maybe Jinger knows on some level that it is all BS and has no intention of courting/marrying a fundie guy...but then I started to wonder about if perhaps someday we may see Jessa or even Jill decide to make an escape from their husbands. To my knowledge, there has not been any research specifically looking at the rate of divorce in marriages that were started with a "courtship" (if any of you are sociologists, PLEASE DO THIS RESEARCH ). However, I have seen some statistics that seem to indicate that being a fundamentalist Christian does not mean you will necessarily be any less likely to encounter marital infidelity or divorce. Of course, I think it would be far better if people didn't get married in the first place rather than having a messy divorce. However, since it probably is not realistic to hope that most fundamentalist teenagers would have the knowledge, money, or resources to be able to live independently from their parents, is the best outcome we can hope for that some of them will end up developing those skills after marriage and make a run for it?
  25. Dear FJ I am writing you in hopes you can help, yes, yes I know I should be all powerful and all but for the life of me I cannot figure a way out of this. Can you please, please, please help me stop the Duggars from constantly dragging me and my son into their mess? First, they were just the average fundies praising me and my son all the time and blaming us and crediting us for EVERYTHING. Fine, I get that all the time. Then they started hating on some of my children, I made some people LGBT so sue me...it is NOT okay to be mean to them and deny their rights, they are my children too! Then Jessa, good ME, Jessa. STFU on social media about me and my son already Jessa and BIN... NOT okay! As well as JB and Michelle...all of your public statements have to include me, don't they? It's all my fault isn't it....making money off of your kids and me...so not cool! And now Josh....really Josh you molest children including family members and you dare drag me into your statements and claim my son died for you to be able to molest kids? OH HELL NO! So please I am at the end of my rope FJ. How on earth can I get these people to leave me and my son out of it? Please help. Yours truly God
