  1. Who is at all surprised I was in Maui - expecting news from the 4 channels they do have.... But who doesn't love her passive aggressive post to Jill - and yes I caught the mother bit before she deleted it. So in all my viewing what I discovered Josh can yell - nothing has changed - that video - he couldn't even let Jessa and Ben talk but he let Jill go on Baby Dilly - we know your baby likes spicy as do I Ben has amazing forearms still based on the newest picture - green Jill is front and centre and in all her glory - Mary is going to have it in February - JUST YOU WAIT Jessa has reached 995,000 people - Team Jessa there must be more - but I have jetlag When does the new season start ? Post new predictions February 1
  2. Has anyone ever noticed if the girl duggars exercise or play sports or work out? I know about their strange aversion to all forms of dance, but what about healthy, strenuous activities to keep them fit? Does their homeschooling include a physical education component? I think I recall them once hiking (in flipflops and skirts, of course). I wonder if they just don't like working out or if Gothard has somehow convinced them that fitness activities are not for girls.

    Names used on FJ

I really hate to be that girl, but can someone quickly tell me all the (hilarious) nicknames that you have for the Duggars? "Smuggar", "Pickles" and "DQ" are the first ones that come to mind...Thanks!
  4. They definitely practice hatred and hostility toward people based on sexual orientation, and advocate it. They also support things like voter ID laws that target minorities more than anyone else. These people aren't individuals dotting the landscape, but leaders in this. Who can deny they were behind Fayetteville repealing a law protecting rights? Without a doubt, they are a hate group, and they are dangerous.
  5. Wikipedia hasn't listed any upcoming episodes. What does it mean?
  6. Just curious, but who would be on the list of the worst of the worst, in the Duggar's social circle? For example, RC Sproul Jr was referenced on the Christian Domestic Discipline thread earlier today, so it made me wonder, is he one of the Duggar's friends? Was he one of the 1000 invited to Jill's wedding? The Pearls? The Andersons? Who are the rubbing elbows with and what makes them a candidate for worst of the worst?
  7. There is a lady close to the Duggars that I stumbled upon a few years ago. She was on the show but only in the background. Anyway, She went alone with some of her kids to visit the holts and duggars the last 2 weeks Looks like the Duggars went Caroling and Josh is home for the holidays https://www.facebook.com/janet.stuesse I broke the link with a dot. Is that right?
  8. So funny and so true. http://www.alternet.org/culture/12-thin ... ly-gave-us On the 1st Day of Christmas, Michelle Duggar sent to me … an Arkansas anti-gay travesty. (Duggar joined the effort to overturn [a non-discrimination] law in late summer, recording robocalls that went out to every phone in Fayetteville in which she described LGBT people as a threat to the community.) On the 2nd Day of Christmas, Jill and Jessa sent to me … 2 feuding sisters double-dating. (Maybe Jill is jealous that she’s no longer the only Duggar girl who’s allowed to kiss boys.) On the 3rd Day of Christmas, People Magazine sent to me … 3 Surprising Things NOT at Jessa Duggar’s Wedding. (No white dress, no wedding cake, and no first kiss for the crowd.) On the 4th Day of Christmas, Josh & Anna Duggar sent to me … 4 babies in 6 years! (With number four on the way, many are wondering if the D.C. Duggars are planning on having a double-digit clan of their own.) On the 5th Day of Christmas, the Duggar girls sent to me … FIVE P-U-R-I-T-Y Rings! (The Duggar daughters are doing their darndest to make “courtship†culture cool.) On the 6th Day of Christmas, Jessa Duggar sent to me … 6 million Jewish Holocaust victims compared to abortion on Instagram. (Regardless of how one feels about the morality of abortion though, comparing it to one of the greatest horrors in modern history is insensitive and clueless, to say the least.) On the 7th Day of Christmas, Michelle Duggar sent to me … 7 Basic Needs of a Husband. (No. 1 secret? “Say yes to sex, even when you’re tired.â€) On the 8th Day of Christmas, the Duggars sent to me … 8 bible-approved spousal abuse tactics. (When the very definition of perfect love is sacrificing your children and martyring yourself, there is no place for emotionally healthy concepts like boundaries, consent, equality, and mutuality.) On the 9th Day of Christmas, the Duggar Family sent to me … 9 submissive helpmeets. (Girls are born for one and only one reason: to serve a husband.) On the 10th Day of Christmas, the Duggar Family sent to me … 10 patriarchs-in-training. (“The Tenets of Biblical Patriarch,â€... asserts that God is male, and explicitly not female; that the human male is the “image and glory of God in terms of authority, while the woman is the glory of man.â€) On the 11th Day of Christmas, JimBob sent to me … an unwelcomed baby. (“She broke away from everything his family represents, so viewers shouldn’t expect any televised trips to visit this in-law.â€) On the 12th Day of Christmas, Jana Duggar sent to me … the Stay-At-Home-Daughter
  9. I've just rewatched the Prince of Egypt (dreamworks) - would that movie be allowed in the Duggar household? I mean, it's like the most sanitized heathen cartoon out there. Or is only Bambi allowed?

    Duggar Christmas Card

The gang is all there, including spouses, grandma, and Josiah (looking suspiciously shopped in), and they are wishing everyone a merry christmas (except for the gays of course, they aren't people). Its super tiny and I wish it were big enough to really make out details. http://www.eonline.com/news/606122/the- ... ee-it-here
  12. I wonder if Duggar suitors are expected to have refrained from looking at women, touching, kissing, hugging and having sex, (and probably masturbation as well). Are they disqualified if they've had a girlfriend in the past? That really makes me wonder if Jana will ever have the joy of a relationship because at 25, her eligible suitors would probably be from maybe 22-32 and they are likely experienced with intimacy in some form. Or perhaps she'll be forced to consider marriage to a teenager, like Jessa, since men her age are having sex. Do you think Jimbob asks these young men for the details of their sex lives? Do you think he would allow an 'impure', experienced man to court one of his daughters?
  13. Between seasons, the general discussion takes place here: viewtopic.php?f=87&t=26219 in the Quiver Full of Duggars forum.
  14. It's nice to see more of the media picking up on the Duggars' true beliefs and agenda behind the "sweet, Godly family" image http://observer.com/2014/12/the-duggars-politics/

    Duggar Maxwell wedding

Do you think Steve would allow one of his daughters (say Mary) to marry a Duggar boy? He would get more publicity for his products but I think he feels the Duggars aren't as religious as he is (is anyone?!)
  16. https://www.facebook.com/duggarfamilyof ... 09/?type=1 Yeah - but would they let a child join the military? Not in this world

    The Duggar Family A Cult?

I've always loved reading about various cults because I'm a nerd. Anyway my bedtime reading last night was a breakdown on the steps of what it takes to be a cult. I found it very interesting and while I was reading I started to see the Duggar family. I'm not talking about their religion but the family itself. So the guy broke it down similar to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs or a pyramid starting at the bottom and working it's way up. The first level is shaming. Due to some sort of shame, real or perceived, they feel like they have to earn acceptance (Michelle). Children are usually trying to earn the affection of their parent because they love is conditional and usually includes shaming and overly strong control of the parents. I think that pretty much hits those kids square on the head. In order to earn God's acceptance they usually go the lazy route by just accepting a spiritual leader than doing any real study for themselves. Legalism is the next level. In this level there is a set of do's and don'ts for the acceptance that they are working for that stems from the shame. He described legalism as an attitude instead of a belief system. The first things to die in this level is jof of life, freedom, and personal relationships (he mentions God but he's approaching it from a religious stand point) Guilt also starts to take over with the feeling they'll be rejected by not living up to the list of dos and don'ts. Spiritual Abuse is the next level. He quoted another article, The Subtle Power of Spiritual Abuse, to define it as "the mistreatment of a person who is in need of help, support, or greater spiritual empowerment, with the result of weakening, undermining, or decreasing that person's spiritual empowerment." (JB anyone?) The last is mind control or brainwashing which is giving his or her will to the control of the leader. I found this all interesting in relation to the family. I could see where you could sub God for JB or Michelle depending on what it was talking about.
  18. I was thinking about the differences and similarities between the Duggars and British Royals and Fundamentalisms in general. One thing is they are both expected to reproduce except Royals arent expected to go full Quiver. If you are at the top of the line of succession, the baby name has to be approved by the Queen/King. Only recently have the British Royal been able to marry a person 'out of their circles' without much disapproval. The Duggars seem to have loosened up for them. I dont think Derick would have made the cut before TLC much like Kate M would not have been readily accepted 30 years ago. The British Royals may have changed some things, but I think it is a much harder life to live than the Duggars who can get off TV and go home anytime.
  19. Do you find the Bates family more or less irritating than the Duggars? I realize we haven't been exposed to the Bates' lives as much as the Duggars, so of course the Duggars are easier to criticize, but do you have a preference, and if you do, why?
  20. If you were a reporter and could ask any of the Duggars one serious question, but only one, what would be your number one question for them be. I have often thought this when watching interviews and I would have many, but the number one would probably be for Jim Bob and Michelle and It would be....why do you think it's acceptable to have so many kids when you are not able to handle all of them without the help of the older children basically raising them.
  21. There is a post from the Wissmanns official facebook page indicating that they spent the day with the Duggars. All the ladies are lined up but one young lady does not belong in either tribe. Does anybody have a clue?
  22. Swamptribe

    Duggars mentioned on E!

it's so ironic. The showed the Dillard thanksgiving picture the put up fan tweets about where fans tweeted their favorite. The Duggars have now become exactly what they preach against worldly.
  23. YourGodIsNotMine

Would there be 19 without TV?

I think when the Duggars were first on TLC, they had 14 children. Sometimes, I feel they continued to have more babies to keep the network and viewers interested. To get their own regular series. To keep the viewers in perpetual suspense about the next pregnancy. Do you feel that without TV, they would have stopped at 14 or 15?

    Duggar/Fundie health?

Today I was binging on Netflix, and I got into the autism documentaries. As I was watching them, I thought to myself "man the Duggars really are blessed, 19 kids and all of them healthy". Then I thought of other well known fundie families, like the Kellers and the Bates. Even the Wallers, I know they had a son pass away in adulthood from cancer, but all of their kids are healthy. I just find it astonishing that they have all of these children and all of them in robust health in comparison to so many of us with loved ones with various childhood illnesses. Are there any fundie kids with Autism, Downs, Type 1 diabetes, Cystic Fibrosis etc? From my outsiders point of view, fundies go through alot less anguish than us normal folk, a lot less faith trying times. They may be on to something...*slips on special edition cheerleader J'chelle frumper*
