  1. I am assuming if there was any other really big announcement coming (like a courtship) it would have been hinted here, so my expectations are now at an all-time low that it's going to be as miserable and predictable as we all feared... From the Duggar Family Blog: "Last season, Jim Bob and Michelle proudly gave Jill away to Derick Dillard. Now, Jill starts her life as a wife and quickly finds out that she is expecting. From ultrasounds to birthing classes, follow Jill and Derick on their journey to parenthood, and join the entire Duggar clan for the gender reveal of Baby Dilly. When the newlyweds decides to host the youngest Duggar daughters for a sleepover, they get a taste of what parenthood will really be like. The family also prepares for a second Duggar daughter to say “I Do.†In November 2014, viewers followed along with Jessa as she embarked on a scavenger hunt engagement planned by Ben Seewald. In the upcoming season, keep up with Jessa and Ben as they head to the altar. When the future Mr. and Mrs. Seewald decide to save money for a romantic honeymoon, it’s all about pinching pennies on the wedding. With a guest list of over 1000 people, Jessa and Ben must plan their dream wedding on a shoestring budget. From budgeting to bridesmaid attire, Jessa knows what she wants but has less than three months to pull it off. And when the future Seewalds tour their soon-to-be home, a little mold may turn into a big problem. The DC-based Duggars are also loving life on the East Coast. With Marcus almost 2-years-old, Josh and Anna are hoping to grow their family. And there is plenty of big family fun back in Arkansas as Jim Bob and Michelle cherish each moment with the kids still at home."

    Duggar Sponsors

I was wondering what were some of the sponsorships the Duggars have had in the past couple years? After Jill got married there was a few sponsored-like instgram posts (IHop, Chik-Fil-A, Ductape) and then there was that episode where Jim Bob and the kids made go karts, which felt more like a bad ad than family bonding, but is there any other verified (or speculative) sponsorships they have had? Honestly if I was a detergent or washing machine company I would definitely try to use the Duggars! (I can just picture Michelle using her baby voice "I'm Michelle Duggar and I gave birth to everyyyone of my children living at home, and we have a lot of laundry! But using __ has been such a blessing with their ...") Also, what do you think makes companies sponsor people like the Duggars? I wouldn't necessarily go to Chik-Fil-A just because I saw Jill Duggar going, or are they really famous fundies? This is my first topic!
  3. Which Duggar would you nominate for the typical high school yearbook awards? For 'Most likely to succeed', I'm going with Josiah. I think I detect a bit of reason in his gaze. 'Quietest' must go to Jana, and 'Most Athletic' would be Joy, hands down. 'Teachers pet' I think would be Jill or Josie. Biggest Flirt? Biggest Slacker? etc...

    Duggar Family size

Which of the Duggar kids do you think will have big families? I can see Josh and Anna having a lot, and same with Jill and Derick, but i don't really think Jana or Jinger will have more than four.
  5. So it is just a minutes until the Super Bowl starts. Do you think the Duggar's watch? At least Jill and Derick? What do you think they would think of the defrauding commercials and the half-time show?

    Duggar Addiction?

I freely admit to being absolutely fascinated/repelled by the whole Quiverfull movement (& large families in general). I'll also admit to watching almost every Duggar episode that's been produced, sometimes multiple times. Has anyone ever had the need for a Duggar "fix" (ie, when bored & watching tv: there's nothing on right now; it'd be a good time for a Duggar show)? When I feel the overwhelming need (for lack of a better term) for a fix, I'll watch a video on YouTube & be ok for a while; I'll sometimes do this when cooking or doing some sort of housework. Is this a sign of a Duggar addiction, or do I need a new hobby? Or get out more?
  7. www.ibiblio.org/bascha/blog/2006/03/21/ ... ay-on-tlc/ This is really interesting. It's over a year before the show when getting info wasn't so easy since it wasn't there and they weren't a household name, but there was also less inaccurate info since they weren't a household name. Some commenters thought a bunch of the kids would break away, or that Boob and Jchelle would support the girls going to college. Some predicted the kids would all live at the compound, which is closer to what's happened.
  8. If this season runs ~3 months like they have lately, that'd cover mid-February through maybe the end of May. So between the show and the announcements from other sources, from now until late May...best guesses?! Winner gets bragging rights? Or maybe winner should be ashamed of yourself for knowing the Duggars too well? Courtship/engagement/wedding announcements? Pregnancies? Anything else wild and unexpected? So far we've got: Married Duggars: Jill - due in March, so she's pretty much accounted for, unless she pops out a 9lb baby on Feb 1. Anna - due in July, but no m'gender (or number of babies) yet A so far but-likely-not-for-long assumed empty-wombed Jessa Duggars who could potentially announce courtships (or even engagements or marriages..): John (25) Jana (25) Jinger (21) Joseph (20) Josiah (18) And Josh, Jessa and Jill were 19?, 20, and 22 when they began courting, I think? Just for reference Think there could be a courtship announcement by June?
  9. Why do you think Jim Bob and Michelle rarely seem to be challenged on the tough questions about their beliefs and how they have and are raising their kids? Like no higher education and lack of trust in their kids and letting the kids be independant, etc. Yeah, I know the Duggars have given some lip service to the higher ed. question saying that the kids ARE taking college courses online or whatever, but it seems like reporters never investigate if that is true or what the actual courses are and if the kids even have appropriate qualifications to say, go to a college or university if they chose. They never seem to get asked about IBLP or if they do, those asking let them off with vague answers that make it all seem like sunshine and happy bunnies. Why hasn't anyone really looked into the whole ALERT thing that the boys have been sent to... scratched below the surface. Why haven't any reporters grilled them more about limiting their daughter's choices and opportunities and expecting them to have kid after kid and marry guys like Ben who have very little real education and no job and no way to support all those kids. Why does no one ask the hard questions? The ones that might expose the ugly underside of all those beliefs that they put forth as just old fashioned wholesome values that so many buy into? I hope that a lot of these articles coming out lately about ex-IBLP kids and how they feel it was a cult and they were abused, etc. might shine more of a light on the Duggars and the realities of how they are raising their kids and the harm they are doing as parents by not allowing their kids to learn independance or even have their own dreams!
  10. I think this is the first year the sheer quantity of future Duggars is starting to hit me. To be generous...let's say the show lasted until 2018. By then, all of the kids down to Jason would be over 18 (I think?). That's 12? adults, and I'd say it's likely 8-9 will be married. That could easily mean a baby every 3-6 months. Basically, NOTHING will be new or interesting at that point. TLC would not even have the time to follow the adults and their families because there would just be TOO MANY of them. I am not convinced a spinoff would be a success, either. Maybe if one of the J'kids really went wild and join a UU church, started drinking wine, got HBO, started working for a liberal advocacy group and decided they weren't going to have any biological children and would only adopt. (Just dreaming...) What will be the final nail in the coffin? Do you think Jim Bob could actually almost encourage one of them to do something "different" soon if viewership was down just to keep the money rolling in? If there's anything Jim Bob loves more than Jesus, it's a big paycheck for a small amount of work.
  11. The Duggars made a pledge to do good on Good Friday on FB. While that is commendable why not pledge to do good daily?
  12. After the threads about Josh and the other older kids and how much get clearly got screwed over by their parents, I was wondering, if you were a Duggar over 18, what would you do? Imagine that it would somehow dawn on you that maybe Gothard and your parents might not be right on all the things they do, and that there might be another life out there for you. And that, if you keep on living the way you live now, your options and future look pretty dim. What could you do? Sure, you could make a run and write a tell-all book. But what if you didn't want to burn all bridges with your family and also didn't want to destroy the Duggar gravy train aka TLC show? I think Josh would have it the easiest. He could keep his job at this hate group known as FRC and take some evening classes in order to have better prospects once he will need to find new job. And after 4 kids, he could tell Anna that they will take a break trying to have more children. If I were Jana, I'd somehow try to move in with Josh and Anna. Maybe she could take some college classes from there. But for Jana, it would be hard to escape right now. Jill and Jessa could also take some college classes and Jessa could tell Ben to finish college and take some classes that will make him somewhat employable (like accounting).

    Name that Duggar

I watched a few of the Name that Bates clips that the kids have been doing with Gil and Kelly. Do you think that JB and Michelle would be able to answer questions in a Name that Duggar game?
  14. A few sites are reporting that Amy Duggars is telling everyone she and her boyfriend are getting married: http://www.thehollywoodgossip.com/2015/ ... llon-king/ If they are engaged and plan a wedding, I doubt it'll be evangelical Duggar-style with no dancing or drinking, etc. Do you think in spite of that, that all the Duggars would attend? I wonder how they explain to their youngest kids about how Amy didn't wait to kiss or hold hands and is still okay...or do they say she's sinful or going to Hell? What would the Duggar clan do if everyone started dancing and toasting the couple?
  15. I thought this might be a fun thread. Is there anything that a lot of other people (here or elsewhere) dislike about the Duggars, but it doesn't bother you? Mine would be: 1. Jim Bob's hair. I never understood what was so snarkworthy about it. He seems to have the standard "middle aged man" haircut to me. 2. Their dislike of getting up early. I've mentioned before that I think "Duggar Time" is abominable. If you said you're going to be somewhere at 8 am, you'd better be there at 7:45 (IMO). But I don't see anything wrong with them not liking to get up early, and complaining about it when they have to.
  16. After watching a new episode of Kate plus my 8 last night, she and her family could benefit from a week with Michelle, her baby voice, jurisdictions, ATI standards , home school and Bible time. Last nights show was nothing but screaming and chaos! This is where Michelle could really shine; bringing her servants heart and joyful countenance!
  17. Not sure if anyone has seen this one. I saw it on the Pickles Fb page. Michelle's head may explode.
  18. I was thinking about the Christmas video and Jana being in the mail center. Since we all know the Duggar's address, what's preventing people from sending articles and books to them? Perhaps sending some good literature to the children to read. Does Michelle go through all the mail and makes that call? If a younger Duggar gets a fan letter or gift, are the letters read before they are given to the child?
  19. Something I don't understand with the Duggars way of thinking....they are all about "self control". Seems to be one of their rehearsed answers when asked about "courting" and refraining from touching, kissing, etc. HOWEVER as soon as they get married, the wife is never supposed to say "no" to her husband when he's "in the mood". Well, that shows NO self control on his part, at all! What's that all about?
  20. This was on the AGC gossip site where quite a few - OK a lot of their items turn out to be true. Could this be a crack in their perfect armor or is it garbage? This religious family who loves cable and babies is about to take a big hit because a son-in-law had sex several times with his sister-in-law during the holiday season. A tabloid knows. The family is trying to make a deal. The Duggers
  21. An article on Radar says they did . I just find it hard to believe they would shun her when Deanna had Amy out of wedlock and they include them on the show with no problem. But another article refutes these rumors and shows pics of Susannah and the baby, together with Anna and Josh. I wonder who this 'inside source' is. I am no Duggar fan, but these stories are getting crazier and this brings atttention to someone who didnt ask to be part of this circus. http://www.inquisitr.com/1674520/no-dug ... f-wedlock/
  22. http://www.people.com/article/19-kids-a ... tmas-video And Cue the production number! Can't they just be a family and not a media money making venture one damn day? Oh Hai Jordyn( AKA 'Wilson' from Home Improvement)! Jana is tucked up in her solitary corner.
  23. I thought it would be interesting to make a list It bugs me that the kids can't wear PJs or if they do they can't wear them downstairs. My kids love PJ days or mornings. Anyone know WHY they can't? It also bugs me when Anna made tilapia a few seasons ago Mac loved it because Ketchup is on it. It was a big FU internez moment for me. Although I do think Josh and Anna do try to eat a little better... And Amy is getting her own show That is all I can think of now
  24. What do you suppose the Duggar's reasoning was behind allowing Jill and Jessa to have Twitter and Instagram accounts only once they were officially in courtships? How come Jana and Jinger don't have these same privileges, even though Jana has been given such weighty responsibilities as guardian of the internet (according to A Love That Multiplies, only Jana and Michelle have the internet password), opening the family's mail, and basically being a mom since she was a kid? Of anyone, shouldn't she be emotionally mature and responsible enough to be trusted with a Twitter or Instagram account of her own? Do the Duggars think that courtship is the magic life event that makes a person a "real" adult, or do they think they're protecting the purity and modesty of their adult children like Jana and Jinger by not allowing them to take endless selfies like Blessa? And if that's the case and the Duggars are as committed to their religiousness as they claim to be, how come the rules of purity and modesty are thrown out the window after marriage? What are your thoughts on the reasoning behind bequeathing/denying social media to the adult Duggar children?
  25. At least Jed doesn't look gangsta like JD. http://www.msn.com/en-us/tv/celebrity/y ... ar-BBhATs7
