  1. It seems the house schedule so famous in the beginning has fallen by the wayside. They seldom are at home and three have moved out. Do they still have Bible Time with Daddy?
  2. Duggor

    New grandbabies?

I am really hoping there will be new grandduggars soon, but I don't want Anna, Jill (and maybe Jessa) to become babymachines! But what do you think? Will there be new grandbabies soon? And if there will be new grandbabies which one do you think will be the first one to get pregnant soon Anna, Jill or even Jessa? And how much kiddos do you think they will have?
  3. Ok, so Josiah is courting. So, who's next?? And who's last, or who will never leave? I say Joseph is next and Jenny is last. And that JD never leaves and ends up giving his house to one of his other sibs at some point when JB starts to run out of housing to distribute.

    Long Lost Duggar!

It has just come to my attention that Anna, from the now defunct TLC show 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' looks like she could pass as a long lost Duggar. Now I'm just imagining if she were a long lost Duggar... she was an unwed teenage mother, curses like a sailor, burps and farts like a trucker. Anyone else see it?
  5. It's interesting to me that for how "formulaic" the whole courtship to engagement to marriage process seems to be, JB and M are actually somewhat liberal in a sense with whom they allow their children to court. Most parents wouldn't fly to Nepal with their daughter so she could meet a boy. The age gap with Jessa being 3 years older than teenage Bin is a little different for most people. Now this possible very young marriage for Josiah, is also unconventional by today's standards. So it is interesting how in a sense they are very strict, and in another quite open-minded.
  6. Great googly moogly, someone from Philly actually won the TLC block party thing and a bunch of the "stars" are coming here May 30, including the Duggar clan (I don't know who exactly) K8 and the kids, the little couple, and some others. How can I convince my husband to go without sounding like a crazy person? Hmmm...
  7. So we already know that the Dilly Dally is a boy and came after 70 hours and a c-section. Benessa went to Paris for the honeymoon. It is now confirmed Jessa is 13 weeks pregnant. Anna is having a girl and her and Josh bought a house in Arkansas. Josiah is courting. One of the boy's is at Crown College So we know all the above- what would be a real surprise? The following would really surprise me in tonight's TLC announcement: Jana or Jinger are married or engaged or courting. JD doesn't live at the tinker toy house but in his own home. Joy Ann will be going to real college (not Gothard journey or HQ) and going to live on campus in the fall Amy has a record deal. Jim (boom guy) has written a tell all book. So what would be a real surprise to you? remember to follow the posting rules, I wouldn't want anyone to get in trouble and I am sure HA doesn't want to be a fun killer tonight!

    Cancel this show

If a petition would be started on change.org insisting that 19kac be taken off the air only to protect the youngest Duggars/Dillards/Seewalds from the voyeuristic nature of this show, would you sign it?
  9. What do you think Derrick or Jill, or any of the Duggars, will do about the earthquake in Nepal? 1,000 dead, and that's probably going to go up. They claim to want to help people, and they have ties there. This is their chance. I doubt Jill can even walk much, and Derrick may be needed to care for her medically, but I hope some of the other Duggars put it where their mouths are, and go offer some of that first-responder help, without excuses.
  10. I don't know it this is relevant, but I was wondering about all the religions that are similar to the Duggars' but aren't quite the same. I know for one that the schwieters, they're an apostolic bunch, are very similar. I went with one for a bit, a few months, and they all wore the very modest clothes and the girls had to have very long hair. And in the end, the boy I went with, ended up marrying at 18 and having a baby not soon after with the girl he left for. The only difference really, is that they allowed dancing and I went swing dancing quite a few times.
  11. I'm curious about what their beliefs and, most likely, limitations are on medical care. I know they obviously were all for tons of medical intervention for Josie along with follow up doctor appointments. We've also seen that they go to the dentist (a lot), a plastic surgeon with serious wounds and even an allergist for JB. (I don't remember what those results were. Was he allergic to anything?) I also assume all the kids are fully vaccinated since they travel overseas. We haven't seen the other kids go to well child check ups that I can remember, though and I've never seen anything about any of the older kids and a doctor. I'm wondering if the girls are allowed well woman checks (most likely not) and what type, if any, preventative medical care the older kids get. Does Michelle get mammograms? Has she continued to have any type of well woman examinations since Josie? It also seems really unlikely to me that none of them needs any type of glasses. (That I can recall.) Do they do vision exams?
  12. I wonder what would happen if one of the boys started courting a girl who, while maybe Christian, came from a more strong-minded family who also like to control and do things their way...like have more input into the wedding and where it would take place and so on. Are all Christians anti-dancing and anti-meal and so on? Is it just a Baptist thing? I have never been to a wedding that didn't have a reception for everyone with a sitdown meal, champagne and drinks, DJ and dancing, etc. What if one of the kids wanted to marry a strong Christian, but one who isn't so rigid about such things and wants a more normal type of wedding with a meal and speeches and dancing and all that? Would the Duggars go along with that? Would they insist it has to be done their way? Do you think they would be less insistent if it was a Duggar boy marrying a girl (since the girl's family often seems to want more input, or used to). Jim Bob and Michelle are both control freaks imo, so I wonder what would happen if they had to deal with another set of parents who were just as controlling and strong=minded. Ben's Dad could be pretty hot=headed, but he backed down other than wanting to rush things along. Another family might want more say in what happens, especially if they do things a different way in their family. Why does it always have to be the Duggar way? It's like they take everyone over and absorb them! Do you think it likely that every one of the kids will marry another fundamental Christian who basically does things the same way as the Duggars ande are willing to go along with whatever they say?

  14. I don't have any fancy equipment at my house and the credit goes by way too fast to read it. Has anyone ever read the closing credits? I think I saw something flash by like "Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar Productions" or something like that. Can't find it anywhere on the innnermanetz.
  15. Part 1: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=25044 Part 2: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=25197 Part 3: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=25362 So, Jessa's wedding just aired, and Jill's baby is due any minute now.
  16. I was reading the thread about how a lot of the kids may be staying and behaving because of the tv show...at least on camera, because they all want that money to keep rolling in, but do you think things are really that rosy behind the scenes? With the possible arm twisting that was speculated on, and the sending kids off to the various camps to be re-indoctinated as it were, it made me start wondering if there's a lot more rebellion and yelling and fighting going on when the camera is turned off. Do you think any of the kids would dare to raise their voices to JB and M or threaten to rebel or leave, go to New York or whatever? In some ways, they would have some leverage since the last thing Jim Bob and Michelle want is to have their "brand" ruined by a rebellious wayward child...they are riding on this big happy family that loves each other and the Lord and believes everything Jim Bob and Michelle tell them. After all, they are the poster-family for Quiverfull and evangelical child-rearing, etc. It wouldn't look good is one of the kids decided to rebel and cause a scandel!
  17. I noticed on the baby Dillard thread someone posted a picture of Lawson and "Isreal". Do you think Lawson is courting a Duggar? Maybe one of his sister is courting a Duggar? I always see Lawson in videos with another Duggar boy and they seem really close, so maybe he was just visiting?

    Duggar Matchmaker

Hi y'all, Longtime reader, new poster. If you were to play matchmaker, what are some of your favorite potential courtships? I want to see: Jana and Tim Tebow Jinger and Skylar Weiss Joy Anna and Lawson Bates Or, Jana with Skylar and Jinger with Lawson, but ... I just really want Jana with Tim, even if unrealistic (or is it!?). I think she deserves to "win" the "best" husband. Besides, the ages work better this way, since I'm pretty sure Skylar is only 23ish. Plus, I think Joy Anna and Lawson would actually be a super cute match. John David is a stumper for me. I'd love to see Jana, Jinger, and Joy Anna married soon, for their sake, and to see what the family dynamics would be like re: Michelle managing. With Joseph at college, Josiah likely getting married, and John David essentially doing his own thing, it'd leave her with 6 teenage/pre-teen boys and 4 girls/little girls. Still quite the handful, especially when juggling relationships with adult children and grandchildren.
  19. If you had to marry a Duggar, regardless of age (just assume they are your age), which Duggar would you marry? I know most people are civil, but please no gross stuff about underage Duggars. If I were to marry a Duggar, I would marry James! I think he'll grow up to be a handsome young man. I love his attitude and I think he's hilarious. Hopefully he stays that way and they don't beat it out of him! I think since he's part of the younger Duggars, Jim Boob and J'Michelle might not be too strict- they already seem to be lacking in this department. If I were to marry a Duggar girl (same sex marriage ) I would marry Jenny. She seems like a really sweet girl.

    The Inevitable Tell Alls

This topic is prompted by a discussion I had with my roommate upon finding the news of Josiah's courtship. Eventually all of the children will grow up. It is highly likely that one or more will break away from the family and a few might even write about what it was really like to grow up a Duggar. My question to the forum at large is simple. Whose Duggar tell all would you be most interested to read? Why? It can be one child or more than one. I just want to know whose unvarnished insider perspective you'd like to see. I think I would most look forward to Jennifer's book. As the middle child of the five youngest I think she'd have a unique take on the Duggar phenomenon. She's never known a time when the Duggars weren't famous. She also had a real chance at being the family baby before Jordyn and Josie came along. Now she's pretty much ignored by everyone. I think it'd be a fascinating read.

    Duggars and Divorce

I'm watching Jessa's wedding for the first time and it got me wondering one thing: how do you think the Duggars would feel if one of the married couples ended up divorcing. With 19 kids and the way they deal with courtships, there are bound to be some couples that aren't soulmates, but do you think they'll be forced to stay together? Especially with how unprepared for the real world all the kids are, I think the girls wouldn't be able provide for their kids in they ended up divorcing
  22. Sorry to be morbid, but I'm genuinely curious about this - say Michelle had died due to the complications she had with Josie. Do you think Jim Bob would've gone, "Gee, maybe if it hadn't been Michelle's job to be sexually available to me and my needs at all times, she'd still be here and my children would still have a mother"? What do you think would happen to the Quiverfull movement (and Quiverfull-ish families) if mothers were dying?
  23. Well, I guess a lot of you must have answered the question somewhere but : how did you first hear of the Duggars ? What drew you to register on a forum about them ? Snarking aside, do you care what happens to them ? I am French, raised by an twice aborted atheist single mother, no siblings (actually i learnt when I was 20 that I have a half sister on my father's side, but that's another story :?) and although I went to a catholic private school my upbriniging could hardly be further from a 19 kids QF family form Arkansas. HOWEVER, I can't help but feel oddly endeared to them. We've seen some of them grow up on TV. I actually like Jana and Jill. Jessa seems a bit b*tchy and not very emtional, but that may help her get away one day... I think Justin and Jackson are cute and will be the only attractive Duggar males when they're older. I would love to take the lost girls away and see the world outside of fundieland. JB is an ignorant and arrogant jerk, BUT you can tell he loves his wife and kids a lot. I even feel for Michelle (Josie's birth, Jubilee anyone ?). And when Israel was overdue, the first thing I did when i woke up in the morning was to check on Jill on the family blog and the forum. Am I the only one ??? Strange how TV makes you feel close to people you will never meet.

Have you all noticed that the Duggars repeat the same stuff over and over in their talking heads, as if they totally lack the ability to think for themselves and have to resort to stock phrases? (Imagine that...) I don't have any direct quotes here, but I'm thinking about how Anna and Jill will always come back to saying they're "so excited" for something, "and... yeah!" about six times per episode. "I think it'll be really exciting, and we're so excited, annnnd...yeah! We're really looking forward to being excited!" with unchanged affect. Meanwhile, J'chelle seems to love peppering her 'insights' with the words "precious" and "sweet". Oh, and any time the shit hits the fan, it's a "learning adventure" or something. What's your favorite Duggar or Duggar-like word vomit phrase?
