Lori Alexander 83: Fully Cook the Chicken!
Melissa1977 replied to Coconut Flan's topic in Lori & Ken Alexander (Always Learning/The Transformed Wife)
Young Lori sounds even worse than Senior Lori. What an unbearable, spoiled person. I get that she was traumatized by her parents relationship, but she herself built a hell for her children and husband. I have the feeling that she couldn't stand Ken and the more submissive he was, the more bitchy she became. She should have remained single or marry a very different kind of man. -

Int'l House of Prayer Kansas City, Mike Bickle, abuse accusations

Another motivation was apparently to limit legal liability, but Julie Roys quotes Boz Tchividjian from GRACE: In their latest communication they're telling their donors: We're not closing! We're just reorganizing. OK then. https://julieroys.com/embattled-ihopkc-still-asking-donations-denies-plans-close/- 21 replies

Int'l House of Prayer Kansas City, Mike Bickle, abuse accusations
theotherelise replied to Howl's topic in Quiver Full of Snark
I worked at FCA headquarters in kansas city for a brief period of time. Our team was all encouraged to go on an after-work trip to the IHOP prayer room. I chose not to go and I was the only one. But the (now insane) church I grew up in had been tied to Bickle early on and I'd always had a negative impression of him based on some weird prophecy stuff that people called him out on in the 90s. That said, my childhood church ended up back with IHOP and hired tons of their "graduates." Thankfully my parents are out now.- 21 replies

Maybe I've just spent too much of my life listening to driscoll non-ironically in my youth and then finding my way through deconstruction through ex-mormon youtube.... but it occurs to me that Driscoll's persistence that he's had visions about affairs and the like is strikingly similar to the Visions of Glory "Spencer." And once you make that connection, all of Driscoll's spiritual warfare nonsense and demon trials have the potential to be even more sinister.- 381 replies

There is a full jury, 12 jurors and 6 alternates. Sadly, this happened in front of the courthouse: There are more images under this spoiler, but please beware, they are quite disturbing. DO NOT peek if you don't want to see very graphic images.- 218 replies

They are doing a series on Pressler over at The Wartburg Watch. Nothing really new there, but a pretty good summary if you're not caught up. What a lot of people including Wartburg seem to be missing is that Paul Pressler caring what the SBC believed is just a smokescreen. The reality is this, the SBC is the single largest evangelical voting block in the country. The lay people involved in the SBC from the Council of National Policy (like Paul Pressler, or Rod Martin) will do whatever it takes to keep this block voting Republican. They need to cover up abuse in church, not for the sake of the church, but because it could breakup a huge block that can be controlled right now.

Trump 66: Bond, Can't Post Bond
SassyPants replied to GreyhoundFan's topic in Quiver Full of Politics
His parents did him a huge disservice in not allowing DJT to grow up and experience life’s hard knocks and consequences for decisions he made, because now Trump has no skills or tools to handle the realities of life in the real world. He is akin to a below average in IQ, third grade bully. It’s not pretty…and it seems his sons are equally ill-prepared for life in the world in which they live. They had all better get a grip because if the money goes, so do ALL of their privileges. Wasn’t Trump’s sister a judge? How come she was allowed to hone the appropriate skills to successfully live in the real world???- 218 replies

I would think having already experienced a uterine rupture, and IIRC this was with Freddy and about 3 weeks before his due date, Jill is in a higher than average risk for untoward events and likely is on a very individualized OBGYN plan. Navigating a pregnancy and safe birth after having had a previous uterine rupture and never having had a vaginal delivery has to make Jill’s care quite unique. I hope she utilizes high risk maternal/fetal practitioners.

Exactly! There are way more instances where "no, you're not actually ready" is the appropriate response. -

You weren’t ready for college….. that’s why you dropped out. You weren’t ready for that new job…. So you were fired. You weren’t ready to potty train… so you gave up after a week. You weren’t ready to homeschool….. so your kids fell behind. You weren’t ready to buy that house…. So you were denied a loan. Does she not realize that when you aren’t ready, things can fail spectacularly? I try very hard not to place expectations on my kids that they can’t handle. They aren’t ready for algebra. So I’m not going to force them to learn it. Her thinking is completely flawed. -

Here's the thing. "You're never going to be ready so you might as well do it now" can actually be good advice - in very specific situations! But overall as a general post for your broader audience? That's horrible advice! It's also profoundly tone deaf and painfully unaware of her own immense privilege. It's easy to have kids & to start your own business from scratch when "from scratch" is having access to hundreds of thousands of dollars! -
This must be difficult for Donald. He's never really had to do anything like work. He's accustomed to talking on the phone, playing some golf, yelling at people, and delegating anything that needs to be done. Even in the White House, he slept late and left the real work to his aides and staff. Now he has to get up and actually be somewhere. He can't yell for a Diet Coke. He can't request a more comfortable chair. He can't even get up and leave. If you think about it, it explains a lot about how so many of his businesses went belly up. He just can't do the work. The man doesn't even use a computer. Someone else must have always arranged the deals. Donny satisfied himself with spending time refusing to pay fair wages or outright not paying contractors at all. He thought that was how you came out ahead. He can't refuse to pay his lawyers now. There are no more deals to be made with the district attorney's office. Donny is just stuck listening to people talk about how they don't like him. No wonder he sat the other day and thought up his "brilliant" idea of printing out puff pieces from rightwing news sites. That's about all his feeble brain can manage right now.

JermajestyDuggar replied to Coconut Flan's topic in Quiver Full of Snark
This is horrible advice. There are absolutely times in your life when you are more ready to have a baby than others. I had my first at 30 and I can tell you I was about a million times more ready than when I was 18. Would she say the same for a 12 year old who was pregnant from rape? Probably. She’s that ridiculous. -

What else can anyone expect? You've been warned all your life that public school aims to brainwash kids. Disbelief is basically a sin. Deviating from what Mom and Pop said means you're going to hell forever. The only options you have are walling up and lashing out. -

Doug Wilson 2: Christian Nationalism, Dominionism and Excuses for Abuse
Columbia replied to nelliebelle1197's topic in Quiver Full of Snark
Doug seems to be on damage control. I don't know if he got himself invited on Tucker Carlson, or if TC extended the honor. Lots of defense of Christian Nationalism, no mention of the church's abuse scandals. He also held a Q & A session at the University of Idaho that some are speculating was mostly Kirk members in the audience throwing him softball questions. (Fun tangent: The entirety of "Southern Slavery as it Was" was published in the "War Between The States" textbook that first Vision Forum and then Western Conservatory used to carry. The Western Conservatory edition of the book's been scanned into the Wayback Machine, "mutual affection" and everything.) -

I have read on two sources that Harry has "renounced GB" and considers USA home now. When does Charles get to take away the Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles? I think I read that the Prince thing can't be taken away. -
Ethyl kennedy had 5 csections, including Rory who was born after Bobby’s assassination. I had 3 sections. Elisabeth was huge, and transverse/diagonal, never would have made it. Rebecca was ordinary size but at 5 months, I ruptured my uterine ligaments and had 4 months bedrest. Soooooo c section. Then James was a section, since I’d had 2 and I nearly died from the anesthesia. Damn that was scary. I heard numbers go lower and lower and the dr saying push fluids and everything swirled around me.. so got my tubes tied before I left the OR.

Wishing I had a dollar for every time I burped on my back porch after dark and set off a neighbor's dog. The best part is that I'm sure everyone think it's my BF and not me, because it's surely not possible such a huge noise could come out of my body.· 0 replies
