Buglers Branch Out

Our steadfast fundies, Danny-Joe and Melissa, had borne eight blessings: Aaron, Abel, Abigail, Abijah, Abilene, Adah, Adalia, and Adam. But they weren't in the home stretch yet.

In short order came their next four: Alexander, twins Amos and Anna, and Asa.

Life was a breeze for Melissa now that Abigail was old enough to take over baby care.

Meanwhile, Abilene was studying the fine art of home economics to provide for her family and future...

...while Abel had met Hana, a new special friend, at the library!

Abel knew that Hana's lax modesty standards might be an issue, but he was beginning to think that was all bunk, anyway. Even so, they chastely courted...

...until Abel popped the question at the library where they had first met.

Back at the house, Abigail was becoming a young woman!

8.thumb.png.e32776da6b924fc470a43d49f98e

She immediately went to the park, hoping for a meet-cute with her Prince Charming. Hapless passerby Randolph Cardwell was her target!

He needed a shave and a haircut, but Abigail thought he had potential. They bonded over their shared love of cloudgazing...

10.thumb.png.54135c7029706a7bc6b7659d7a0

The aspiring chef offered her a way out of indentured sistermomhood, and they eloped immediately.

He made her an omelette every morning in their new home.

12.thumb.png.bd2d84c5abaf65ccfbf8371cfd5

And soon, Randolph and Abigail welcomed baby Madeleine! What a luxury to have a whole nursery for one child.

13.thumb.png.86f8bb6c80ca5b93f66d3b6914c

In the meantime, a coup had taken place in the Bugler family! Aaron, Abijah, Abilene, and Adah had moved to their own house with their own rules.

16.thumb.png.1dcbf1a224098a45a7118380e02

When the siblings came together to celebrate Adah's birthday, Abigail was amazed to see her sisters in less modest clothing.

And back at the original Bugler homestead, life was in an uproar. Nothing worked right without the older kids around! The season of life for first generation Bugler babies had passed.

Abigail's daughter Madeleine was growing up, and she enjoyed spending time with Abel and Hana's daughter, her new cousin Cleo.

But one day when Madeleine was at Cleo's house, something went terribly wrong when Uncle Abel was making lunch.

Madeleine and Cleo tried to raise an alarm, but no one came... and Uncle Abel was on fire.

22.thumb.png.b7d0d8e98fe61603c163bbd177c

Cleo tried to help, but she caught on fire! She managed to save herself, but it was too late for Abel.

23.thumb.png.6d21f60a0037a56cfaffe09f28d

Madeleine, Cleo, and Hanna watched in horror as the flames consumed Abel and the house.

24.thumb.png.09222f32deeef636e40ad7cc08e

Back in the safety of her own home, Madeleine was comforted by her mother, Abigail, with a reading from the Bible.

25.thumb.png.86526ed6dfa60b666613a6006ed

As time passed after the fire, the family began to heal. Hana found comfort with her brother-in-law Abijah, and they were married.

And at the Caldwell house, a son, named Felix Abel in memory of his uncle, joined the family.

They are doing a series on Pressler over at The Wartburg Watch.  Nothing really new there, but a pretty good summary if you're not caught up.

What a lot of people including Wartburg seem to be missing is that Paul Pressler caring what the SBC believed is just a smokescreen.  The reality is this, the SBC is the single largest evangelical voting block in the country.  The lay people involved in the SBC from the Council of National Policy (like Paul Pressler, or Rod Martin) will do whatever it takes to keep this block voting Republican.  They need to cover up abuse in church, not for the sake of the church, but because it could breakup a huge block that can be controlled right now.

Thanks for posting. Lots of info in that post, and not easy to follow all of it. Supposedly, the first of a series. Perhaps that series will dig deeper into the issues you mentioned.

I would say that almost all fundie marriages are “semi arranged.” Because there’s a ridiculous amount of parental involvement even if the couple choose one another. Because the parents have to sign off on it.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the Whites did NOT sign off on the marriage of Pelaiah and that’s why they aren’t mentioning a single word about it on Instagram. Even though they are mentioning Abraham getting his drivers license and another child learning to cook. If you are mentioning the more mundane things of family life and not mentioning a wedding, there’s a problem.

Braggie always thinks so highly of herself that she won’t recognize if she failed to debate well on the podcast. She won’t recognize if she comes off smug or holier than though. She will just say it’s a win for Christianity and go on with her overprivileged life. Someone else will have to listen because I don’t think I can. I might roll my eyes clean out of my head.

That makes 5 new Mortons in 2024, by my count, and the year is young...

Does anyone know if Rachel had her baby? Kressant posted an IG story recently with a baby, but didn't say whose.

Pretty sure it was the friends baby. She had posted about taking stuff to her.

Also "you weren't ready to have that baby" has a much more awful failure state than "you weren't ready to start a garden". Plants dying from dehydration are kind of sad but it's nothing compared to having your baby die of sepsis because you didn't have the attention span to check and change their diaper regularly.
