When I lived in Iowa the joke was that one wanted to experience all four seasons in one week they just had to live in Iowa for a while.  Sooner or later they would have such a week.

Seems to be the case up here in Minnesota as well.  After a stretch with with highs in the 70s to 80s even up as high as 90 it's been fairly cool out the past few days.  Supposed to warm up again over the week and be up around 80 by this weekend.  So far the plant collection seems to be tolerating the cold snap fairly well.  If it was getting too much colder I'd bring them inside or cover them up.

I had to turn the heat back on this morning because the place finally got cold enough to need the heat on for a while.  I'm not my aunt or uncle who would keep the home in the mid 60s and where sweaters at home when it's cold out.  I have been wearing all my heavier long sleeved stuff lately just because once it warms up again I probably won't need them again for a few months.

It has been unseasonably cold here in Colorado as well: from the eighties (F) to the twenties in 24 hours a few days ago. However, it came with some much needed moisture in the form of snow/rain so we are happy especially as apparently the landscaping plants have survived the wet sticky snow we got.

Had a FB friend say that it was 90s in upstate New York the other day.  Of course I had to go tell her what the weather was like in Minnesota.  Expressions of dislike ensued.

When my sister and brother in law lived in St. Charles, Missouri (St. Louis area) my brother and I went to visit them one spring weekend.  Temperature had dropped in less than 24 hours from close to 90 down to the mid 30s.  We froze our hind parts off at a Cardinals game.  We went to another game the next evening and temps were much nicer then.

I don’t remember the phrase Tawny Owl being used, but I can remember the woman who would have used that title, as it were.

Not a fundie- but the other day a Michigan state rep tweeted a picture of a couple buses leaving the Detroit airport, wondering where the “illegal invaders” were being bussed to.

The “illegal invaders” were the Gonzaga men’s basketball team, who had just arrived in Detroit for their regional semifinal matchup.

Dude gets exposed and his response is basically, “STFU you communist.”

He’s also an election denier who has predicted another civil war.

Erica has two associations for me. One is Erika Shupe, and the other is that it was the name of the “Brown Owl” of my Brownie Guides group when I joined. Brown Owl is the traditional name given to the main leader of a Brownie unit here in the UK. I remember she always had her hair in a single long plait down her back.

We use Brown Owl for the main leader in Canada too and Tawny Owl for second in command.

I am a Brown Owl! In Ireland, but was also a Tawny Owl in the UK. I love being Brown Owl and the whole story that goes with it.

i think she announced it’d be Amaree,

My guess was Arrow Canaan on the Baby Names Thread. Her boy names follow an ACC pattern & don't have cutesy spellings. Since there's not much with the aforementioned pattern, that's what lead me to my guess.
