The Sinclairs, Part Six: A Girly Weekend
After school one day, Anna was delighted to see Samuel. Both sets of parents had agreed that front hugs were OK, as long as they didn't linger too long.
"How's school going?" Samuel asked.
"Yeah, not too bad," Anna replied. "I like creative subjects best, particularly music."
"I like history, but personally I prefer being active and getting outside. It's important to stay healthy," Samuel said. "I'm not much good at music; every time I try the violin it just sounds awfully screechy."
"Ah well, everyone has different strengths," Anna smiled. "It'd be boring if we were all the same."
Sarah continued to enjoy looking after her now extensive garden. Although she didn't have a proper 'job' as such, she did frequently visit the local market and sell some of her produce. (Seriously, you can make a TON of money by selling high-quality rare produce in this game. Sarah actually makes more money than Paul! In my head, he's OK with it as she's able to stay at home.)
That Friday was Love Day, and Anna presented Samuel with a rose when he visited.
"Oh, this is lovely!" he smiled. "Is it from your mum's garden?"
"Yeah, she grows loads of stuff," Anna replied. "We've got plenty of food for the kitchen, and then Mum often makes flower arrangements too."
Sarah and Paul came outside to chat to the pair, and Anna groaned inwardly. She understood that her parents didn't want anything too untoward to happen, but she felt that she couldn't really get to know Samuel properly if they were always hanging around.
That weekend, Sarah decided to take her daughters on a trip to the ski resort area of Mt Komorebi, staying in a little chalet near the bunny slopes.
Being the most active in the family, Diana was particularly keen to get going, and immediately headed over to ski. It ended up being a little more challenging than she'd anticipated, so for her next go she decided to don a helmet.
The Festival of Snow happened to be taking place nearby, and Anna decided to purchase a souvenir. Unfortunately, the machine jammed.
Faith decided to head over as well, marvelling at the pretty way the lights reflected off the snow.
They only decided to stay for one night, though, in order to attend church the following morning. Gabriel and Hezekiah had recently grown up, and were excited to be wearing their smart outfits.
Not long afterwards, it was Anna's birthday! She was now a young adult, and the first graduate of the Sinclair Academy homeschool.
