The Sinclairs, Part Five: A Potential Courtship
Anna had recently heard of a family who lived in Windenburg and had several children. She decided to form a Youth Fellowship Club so she could get to know them better.
"Hello, my name's Anna Sinclair," she said.
"Hi, I'm Thomas Barker," said the guy with a green jacket. "These two are Samuel and Jessica. We're triplets."
"Triplets? Wow," Anna replied.
"Yeah, it was pretty difficult for my parents when we were little," Thomas explained. "But obviously we can take care of ourselves much more now."
"You've got other siblings, haven't you?" Anna asked.
"Yeah, there's Charlotte, Ryan and Sophie," Thomas said. "How about you?"
"I've got five," Anna said. "Bethany and Chloe are twins, then there's Diana, Ethan and Faith."
"That's a lot of girls," Thomas grinned.
"It is," Anna said. "My mum is pregnant again; I kind of hope it's a boy, so that Ethan has some company."
That evening, Sarah did end up giving birth to twin boys, whom she named Gabriel and Hezekiah.
The family had recently built a music room upstairs, and they enjoyed using it; they felt making music was pleasing to the Lord.
Although both Gabriel and Hezekiah inherited Paul's blonde hair, it was soon apparent how to tell them apart; Gabriel had blue eyes and Hezekiah had brown ones. Nonetheless, they also decided not to dress them totally identically; Gabriel wore orange and Hezekiah wore purple.
Although Henford-on-Bagley was cold, Windenburg was even colder. Anna had brought Ethan and Faith over to the Barker family's house so they could all socialise.
Anna got to know Mrs Nicola Barker...
... whilst Faith had a chat with little Sophie.
That evening, the Sinclair family borrowed a television to watch the New Year's Eve countdown.
The next morning was church, and sure enough the Barkers were there. Diana was happy to meet Charlotte (in the lilac dress) and Ryan (in the suit).
Anna was particularly happy to see Samuel again. How smart and handsome he looked! Could he end up being her husband one day? Anna knew she should pray about it. In the meantime, she could enjoy building a friendship with him.
The two families enjoyed fellowshipping together.
The high school part of the Sinclair Homeschool now had two more members, as Bethany and Chloe had recently celebrated their birthday.
And the elementary school section soon gained another pupil, too, with young Faith becoming a child. The school room would surely need to be expanded before long!
One afternoon, Samuel invited Anna over to his house. Anna was excited; surely this meant he was interested in her? She didn't mind that the weather was terrible. If she could spend time with Samuel, that was all that mattered.
No idea what Chloe is side-eying here, but I like it.
Such a busy kitchen! Sarah loved having so many children. There was always so much laughter and chatter and fun.
Diana was quite a creative kid, and enjoyed using all sorts of mediums to create art. Cross-stitch was appealing, but she also knew she could get hurt if she wasn't careful with the needle.
I'm going to end this entry on a screenshot of Anna and Samuel together... hopefully things keep going well for them!
