Planing our visit!

During the last two weeks we were busy trying to find a good and not so expensive apartment to rent for our two days visiting Kiki. It is a bit difficult, because the region she lives in is a very touristy area. Lots of people go there to hike or bike so we had some trouble finding something. But in the end we got a flat in a village nearby, about 15 minutes away by car. It is quite huge, so she has lots of space to run around.

Right now I'm planning our drive, it is "only" around 170km and normal people would drive on the highway and be there in under two hours. But not me. Haha! I'm not driving on the highway, so I picked out a road trip like drive and it will take us around 3 hours. After the middle we take a break, but the current plan is that I'll be driving the whole thing. (My Dad is not coming, only my Mum and I go.)

We took big sister on a holiday twice, but that was years ago, so it feels really weird to plan all the things we need for her. Because we get our car cradle thing first when she is here, she has to sit in her dog-bag for the drive to the flat. Long term plan is to get a proper box that will sit behind my drivers seat on the floor. I don't want her in the trunk, it is to unsafe in my opinion. Also I want her out of my view, so she will not disrupt me when I look in the rear view mirror.

Less than a month to go! :fire-nanner:

You are doing so well with your driving.  Many congratulations.  And I love Kiki's little house.

No, you can't put a dog in the trunk.  A proper soft dog bag or a crate like this: https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/petmate-ultra-vari-dog-kennel is probably best.  You may need to get her used to it in advance.  Start out slowly with short times in the crate and lots of treats while she is in it.

My big dogs travel in the back seat wearing harnesses that attach to the seat belts.  They usually lie down quietly and sleep on long trips.

Big sister travels on the back seat with a harness as well. I really hate to see that so many dogs are just thrown into the trunk or worse just put on the backseat without any harness. Fatal for the dog and possibly passengers.

I did end up buying something because I couldn't stand the thought of her in a little bag for fifteen (!) minutes. 😂
I got her a something like this: https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/dog/dog-crates-and-kennels/animaze-portable-canvas-dark-grey-dog-crate This will do it for the visits and later it will be her travel bed in hotels and stuff like that. She only needs to drive for about fifteen minutes when we visit her. We know that she did get car sick on previous longer rides with the breeder, so we are also prepared for that. She is used to being in a crate due to that.

It's exceedingly normal and natural spacing! They don't have a tv show where they are forced to say exactly what their family planning is, but we have every reason to believe they do not prevent pregnancy.

Conception to birth is about 10 months. She usually gets pregnant about 14 months after having a child. Doctors recommend not having intercourse 6 weeks after birth, but many people likely wait 3-4 months or more due to sleep deprivation, lack of desire, and discomfort. So you're down to about 10-11 months time to conception. Then you add on breastfeeding and hormonal fluctuations that prevent ovulation or cause irregular ovulation. Some studies have shown that those who exclusively breastfeed can have as low as 2% conception rate in the first 6 months after birth. And another study I just saw shows over 50% of women don't have a regular cycle return until >12 months after birth. Ovulation can sneak in their irregularly still, but it's certainly not fair to compare the fertility of postpartum women to other women.

      Here is more info: https://kellymom.com/ages/older-infant/fertility/

Anyway, even in fundies, there is a difference between "leaving it up to God" and actively quiverful like JB&M. Pris usually get's pregnant 13-16 months after having a baby. Maybe part of that is breastfeeding and not having full fertility return. Maybe part of it is that they have several small children and they don't go at it like rabbits. So about 80% of couples actively trying to conceive will get pregnant in 6 months, but even with your full fertility (not post-partum), your rate is not going to be that high unless you are deliberately timing intercourse.

Most people don't have fertility return weeks after birth. Unfortunately some fundies do :(

    • I don't think they're using birth control, but I feel like they would have a more variety of gaps between their kids than an even two years consistently if they weren't doing ANYTHING.

My bet is Rachel will be the next Mrs. Mills within 18 months.  She will make sure of it.  And she and Tom already seem way too familiar.

Hi Rachel... send us your registry link once it is finalized. never mind, I am sure Tom will post it 'in protest' so his fans to purchase off of it.  You know... because they are begging him for it, not because he wants to post it.>

I’m sure Rachel wants to be with Tom but I don’t see it being mutual. It seems like he’s just using her because she’s doing something for him by monitoring the chat & answering questions.

I could be wrong but don’t think he would really go for her. She has a Youtube channel herself and she looks pretty rough. She’s married or has been married and would be bringing more kids into the mix as well. I’m sure he wants someone like how Andrea was when he met her: young, thin, no prior children, not divorced, keeps up with their looks, etc-all things opposite of Rachel. I can’t see him settling for someone homey. I’m sure he thinks he looks good wants someone to “match”. But, I could very well be wrong though.

How selfish of him!!  I'm really worried about the kids.... they need counseling!!

In a past stream he said that he's been reported to Child Protective Services over 30 times.  I hope a family member is taking note of the lack of help for these kids and reports him again.  If the children are removed from the home, the foster home of choice is with an extended family member... so I hope that's what happens.  But NOT with "Papa Gary" if he's on the sexual predator list like I've read about here.

      Gawd, what a mess!

He is on the list. His name is Gary Schelling of Moorcroft. Look him up yourself.

So story time...  I totally saw this girl at Walmart once.  It was sometime during the winter last year.  I hate going to the store looking like a wreck. That day I had a terrible headache to start the day and then working at a daycare all day it progressed into a migraine.  I knew I looked rough but I just needed some Midol and so I was trying to make the trip quick.  This is so burned into my mind because we were in passing and she was all put together which nothing is wrong with that but what she did next just surprised me.  I get it we all notice when someone obviously looks a bit rough.  We all notice but the way she looked at me and you could see the gloat that overtook her face and she silently chuckled at me.  She was so proud of herself and looked so lowly at me.   It is so burned in my mind when the other day I came across her picture online and before I read her name(Mrs.Midwest) and googled where she is from I knew it was her.  Then I watched her videos and was like no freakin way.  I remember thinking to myself "I have never seen someone so pretty look so ugly."

Wow, what a small world! She does seem like the type who would be that cruel in spite of playing sweet online.

I don't think people were viewing finding folks to chat with online as out of line, it is the neglecting his children to spend hours online talking to mostly women who fawn over him as way, way out of line even for a grieving father.

But Tom is behaving exactly like he has always behaved. He does whatever the hell he wants and everyone else has to be okay and figure it out on their own.

      Yep!
