A house for Kiki

Last week I saw someone offering a pet house at a Facebook group I'm a member in. He had it for his cat but the cat did not use it. It is in very used condition, but with some paint it will look fine again. And it was free. So today I drove there and picked it up by myself. This is such a huge deal for me. I was extremely anxious, but I managed to do it. I went there, ringed the bell, told him I was there for the house and he carried it to my car. (This was in the middle of the town, so totally safe by the way.)

So my dog owns a house now. 😂

She will of course live inside, but I really wanted something like that for her for when we are in the garden or maybe for the terrace. It is mainly a fun thing to have. We have a little house in the garden for us humans and now she does too.

Here is a picture how it looks like new:

I sadly have no new pictures, but we are planing a visit during the next weeks, so I'm really looking forward to that and I hope it goes as planned.

I think because the theories, (and the facts!) threaten people’s comfort levels. Suddenly we are all Marxist nutters.

This has been extremely civil unlike discourse you’d see on social media for example, but the cognitive dissonance is clearly present.

I agree.  Although it was surprising to me to see that kind of anti-intellectualism from someone whose username is a minor character from The Odyssey.  But it's just that widespread.

This is a great example of bias against the social sciences among conservatives.  Most educated people wouldn't say that climate scientists or evolutionary scientists all exist in an echo chamber and you're just not convinced of the validity of their work. But when a sociologist tries to explain how race and class function in our society suddenly research, field work, and peer review are all just an echo chamber divorced from the real world instead of actual, hard-earned expertise.

Also it’s baffling that anybody could accuse you of existing in an eco chamber or not doing thorough research.

If she's pregnant, it's kind of odd that she isn't "celebrating life" by posting a pic like the one Stephen put up, or a family shot where the pregnancy gets center stage as she has in previous years.

Yes, when a new baby is one the way, she usually likes to make an announcement of some kind.

@Cleopatra7 I wish I could like your response 100x over. Privilege can really blind people to how violent some policies/ideologies/systems can disenfranchised groups.

Also it’s baffling that anybody could accuse you of existing in an eco chamber or not doing thorough research.
