Hims Three!

It's our baby's birthday today 😊 He's had adventures, a,new fridge to scale, & a new doggie to argue with.  He & Mina are still working out their lap domination dynamic.

Our favorite kitty decided to help himself to daddy's muffins I made the other night.  I woke up to discover a shredded zip lock, and half a muffin clean gone. He'd left tooth marks in several others.  Honey discovered said muffins halfway down the hall into Thor's room.

The muffin destruction was great.

I lub my baby.

Happy belated birthday, baby Thor!  He will always be your baby and he is gorgeous. The muffin story is hilarious...it sounds like something my Oliver would do!

Did he think the muffins were his birthday cake?

And when did he stop being a baby kitten!!

He's got that one down pat   Several times a week there's a rogue noise and "dammit, where's he at!!??"

Humiliation, like many other things can be used for evil or for good and in certain instances, it can be one of the most loving things a husband can do… to humiliate his wife… to bring down her pride… so that she can see things more clearly… so that in the humility, she can learn something that she needs to learn… and be better off for it for the rest of her life.

I am quite certain that he wouldn't be so sure that deliberate humiliation can be loving if it were his wife humiliating him.  The implication of that kind of teaching is that men no longer need to learn, or at least there is nothing their wife can teach them.  That attitude smells of hubris to me!

Based on the way the three of them interact and talk in other videos I'm pretty sure it's fake. But the weird specificity of the dumbassery makes me think that these are things that Saraa has actually heard from some of her classmates.

I haven't been able to find any of their other videos, but I did see this comment on the video above:

Every few years I look up this video. It used to show up on atheists channels who use this as an example to mock the stupid Christian girls. In turn, they get revealed as fools because these girls are clearly acting and joking around. I guess now the trend is for "intellectual" Hindu channels to reveal their arrogance and ignorance.

They might be some of the best actors featured on Youtube yet.

Today we learn that Gwen was born yesterday and that she doesn't understand what dying is.

      A New Perspective on Hardships…

A caterpillar essentially “dies” in its cocoon so that a butterfly can emerge. Consider the spring that follows a harsh, deadly winter. Every year we watch trees lose their leaves, appearing to die; yet they come back to life bigger and stronger than the year before. Another symbol of life from death around us is the daily example of the long, cold night and the warmth of the morning sun rising again. We have to believe that the sun will rise again. Jesus drew a great word picture for us:

“I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me.” John 12:24-26

It all boils down to acknowledgment that we were born yesterday and that God is the Genius of forever. There is an eternal purpose, and when you are done with suffering, you will be done with sin.

“Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin. As a result, he does not live the rest of his earthly life for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God.” I Peter 4:1-2

She thinks that you can save yourself by making yourself suffer.

Or else it's about your hips

I just have to say that it seems like there is nothing he can do to make some people happy now. Whatever he does, the goalposts move.

First it was "Josh Harris needs to apologize". He did. So it became, "Josh Harris needs to say he was wrong all along". He did. Then it became, "Josh Harris needs to discontinue publication of the book". Now he is. And it's still not enough.

He can't undo it all. It's not possible. But name me another evangelical leader who has ever come out and said, "that shit I made a pile of money preaching to the whole world? That was bullshit". There isn't one.

And in my circles IKDG was too liberal to be read so it didn’t affect much of the fundie world I knew - just those who were allowed to have and attend youth group. We weren’t. lol

This thread and all that goes before it has been an eye-opener. I went there on Joseph Darnell's 'Biblical Divorce and Separation video - I was doing the dishes and thought it would entertain me.

JD requested counselling. She said “I just don’t care any more”. Seems fair to me.

His FIL recommended he give her an ultimatum. Thanks Dad.

She hung in through 5 counselling sessions and then refused more. No details on who the counsellor was, or what sort of counselling it was.

“……. I hadn’t realised a day would come when I would have to understand divorce.” Because no male fundie would believe their wife might escape.

“In the end, many people rely on traditions that don’t represent a biblical view of separation.”  Which I interpret to mean 'I was desperately searching any means to justify my divorce and let me marry a VF young thing.'

He goes on to talk about how he found a lot of inspiration from a preacher named Robert Waters of Arkansas. I downloaded the document he referenced if anyone is interested, but I didn’t want to post it here. I don’t pretend to understand half of what was written so won't try to summarise it. Feel free to DM if you want a copy.

Word salad word salad word salad word salad until I just couldn't any more....

Basically, he looked at different versions of the Bible and different translations of different words and texts until he could find something that suited him.

And voila - a biblical divorce of his very own.

😂 Yes. And I’ve heard from several sources that the FIL comment was a bald faced lie......

They all love Braveheart so much yet fail to realize that’s the dream: freeeeeeeeeeeeedooooooommmmm!

And yes. Do the timeline and you’ll see he was actually pursuing miss VF before his divorce was even finalized. LOL Good thing he figured out God was okay with it.

I think that so much of this is about Game of Thrones. You just know that so many of our VF-ers tried to stay away from it, but wound up zombie-walking toward the tube while chanting, "Costumes... Must... Have... Costumes!"

Oh yes. They’re so quick to hate Game of Thrones and all this other inappropriate content while their computers are loaded down and downloaded up with all the porn they can find. 😂

Check out the Instagrams for Joseph Darnell and his new thing Amber (she was soon to be Mrs Darnell and I think at the wedding it changed to Amberkdarnell) ... but she wasn’t desperate or anything. Lmao
