She is already spoiled...

Kiki isn't even here yet and won't be for a long time, but she already has a box for her stuff. We have a lot of doggie things already due to big sister, but we need some new things for her. I want to wait buying her her harness/collar and the more expensive things (bag for travelling by plane, car box, ect.).

I want to buy as much stuff as possible at the different shelter events here in our area. They have those flea markets every time and the things they sell were donated to them, so I can justify all my purchases as donations. A win-win situation. Yesterday the was a summer festival at one and I got Kiki is leash and one thing one the must-have list - a muzzle. For travelling it is required for example in Austria to have on with you or in Croatia on the ferry. I have never seen a dog wearing one, but we have it in case it is needed. The leash is red with hearts on it, cheesy as hell. Knowing her character, she would hate me if she knew what kind of leash that is. ?

Also today a cool-mat for big sister is arriving in the mail and a rucksack thing to carry dogs in for Kiki. I wanted to have a cheap option already available for visits. We won't used it a lot later, but she needs to know it and for example at our graveyards no dogs are allowed. If I put her in that I can carry her like that, that should be okay. Or it depends on the IKEA, but some allow dogs in carriers inside. Or even if we go on hikes for several hours she can be carried for a while.

I really have to stop myself from buying her things.

I think the fact that the bont kids post things all the time about their dad and not their mom perhaps reflects negatively on their relationship with their dad. They feel more secure with their mom and don’t have to post praising Instagram posts to get her love and attention. I see the posts about their dad as a way to get positive attention from him (and perhaps keep away negative attention). It’s like they are trying too hard for marlins approval

They have been raised to worship their father, not their mother. There is a disturbing picture where Marlin is sitting in the middle and all his kids and wife and around him, adoring him like an idol. At least, Duggars or Bates mothers had the spotlight, were the bee queens (not that I envy their position!), but Bontragers don't give wives that special treatment.

Based on the quote posted by @TrueRebel1, I'm going to say her parents have changed their ideas on divorce FOR THEIR DAUGHTER already but of course won't preach it publicly. Michael Pearl is the cult leader and he will feel the need to pontificate on some bizarre and arcane reasoning when the truth is likely much more logical: he wants to keep the money and the power and the esteem and allowing for occasional divorce makes all that possible. To stay true to the teaching would mean distancing from half of his kids and that would be cruel.

Well duh. All of it is cruel.

WTF does the following even mean?

She must be functionally illiterate. Even considering her (and her parents') belief in "rules for thee but not for me," does she even read what she writes? CTBHM was first published in 2004 -- the year she & James got married. IOW, the book was written in this century, the 21st century.

I'm laughing at your summary. Because yeah. Apparently 2004 was the time for marrying and 2023 the time for divorcing. Women saved their marriages and now women are saved by fleeing their marriages. All ordained by the unchanging Bible.

      Nothing to see here, people.

We live in a different world than we did, when my mom's book was written. There are chapters throughout a century. Times where certain things are needed.

When I heard Jodi state that to the officers I thought, huh-uh, that's not an Air BnB, I bet it is housing for "intensive therapy" for couples for which she could charge the church. But maybe not.

If that other side had its own kitchen, that still leaves two kitchens in the rest of the house plus the safe/prison room with its tiny "kitchen." Jodi may have built it with her brand of therapy control in mind. I wonder how that house would serve another family who will end up living there.

Something that puzzles me is how both garages were so pristinely clean, but with signs that cars had been in there at some point. The entire driveway is small rocks or pebbles, I could hear the police vehicles crunching over them. Yet there was no sign of pebbles being drug into the garage or falling from tire treads. Sweeping it out regularly may have been forced on one or more of the kids.

Oh yes the kids were forced to do a lot of manual labor type stuff. I’m sure that giant house was always clean.

Shoshanna finally addresses her parent's books....by implying that there's nothing problematic with Created to be his Helpmeet, and that her divorce is justified...just because???

Of course she would give this type of reply. Her mother only helps, never hurts women. And she is not looking at her own upbringing or beliefs any differently after divorce. Typical fundie.
